2015 DVC Alaska Member Cruise 5/25-5/31/15

I finally am excited, packing today! One week before we leave. What night is the pirate night...are many of you dressing? Likewise what night is the Pixar party and are many dressing. We arrive Saturday evening in Seattle and want to we mt st Helen while there. My husband thinks it is about a three hour drive, does that sound right? Monday morning we catch the bolt bus and should be in by 11. Returning we are taking the Amtrak to Seattle and we still need a hotel there. We fly out Tuesday at 2. Does anyone have suggestions? Thanks for any help you can give. We have 4 fifty year old kids and 1 seventy six year old dad

Pan Pacific will get your luggage to the ship, just call bell services. My son is also disembarking early to catch the 9:00 Quick Shuttle, I hope it works out for both of you. He has a flight to Denver that afternoon, should work perfectly.
We are on the 10:00 Quick Shuttle to Bellingham. Is it pretty clear where we go to catch the bus?

HI - There is not a Pirate Night on the Alaska cruises. Pixar night is Friday, our day in Juneau.

My sister and friends are on the Holland America cruise with almost the same itinerary as our cruise, leaving today! Wishing them Bon Voyage! If They post anything from the trip that will be helpful, I will pass it along!

For those of you who have traveled outside the US before, I have a question regarding food. I need to bring a couple boxes of granola bars, as I have a specific brand that help me best when my blood sugar goes whacky. Is it best to pack those in my checked bag, or in my carry on bag for the purposes of clearing customs?

Katie, I think as long as the bars stay sealed and wrapped it shoud be OK. Open them as needed. I carry things like for my husband and don't usually have a problem.

I'm so excited to find this group and find that the adult FE group is still open!

Please add us- we are a group of 4 adults - Angela, David, Becky, and Cassidy, cabin to be determined (GTY), no allergies or celebrations!

Thank you!
Angela, could you send me your cabin number? We're in the same group and I don't know where to drop off your FE gift.
Thanks
DebL

Good to know, thanks! I've never had a problem within the US, but this is my first time going through customs to enter another country. I read up on it, and it just left me more confused than when I started!

Mt St. Helens is actually just north of Portland in Vancouver WASHINGTON, the southernmost border on the Oregon border. It is a pretty far drive in the opposite direction.

Hi, I have the same issue. I am from England and have flown to US and Canada. I have bars in my checked bag and my carry on and have never had a problem.

I use Glucerna protein shakes in the AM, so I was concerned about the airline. Since we have 2 nights in Vancouver, I called The manufacturer to see where in Vancouver they are sold. Walmart, (didn't know Canada had them), Shoppers Drug Mart, and Sobe or Sobeys. One way you know you are getting older is the drugstore run is as important as the new clothes run before vacations!

Yeahhhhh, I just gathered all my meds together and was shocked at how much space I need for them! I'm definitely old.

I hope so too, but it doesn't really matter since I'm just going to Seattle to spend the night before getting on the train the next day. I know it says in port at 8:00, but it seems like every cruise I've been on, folks can get off much earlier. I didn't like waiting until my character was called and found it a big hassle looking through tons of luggage to find mine, so see it easier just carrying off anyway.

Can those in the MAIN FE GROUP D post the names of their kids (if that's allowed) so I can put the names on their gift bags. I couldn't find anything posted. Thank you! :)
