Checking in to the Grand in just a few more days! Unfortunately, looks like some rain is in our forecast.

Just ordered a rain cover for the stroller and some ponchos for the fam. Fingers crossed we don't need them!

There are different kinds of robes at the GFR, and they have gone through a few subtle changes over the last several years. A robe in February 2015 may be different again. See what is available at the time before making a purchase.

Good point...we are the proud owners of the original thick terry robes...with the GF insignia embroidered on them... With the exception of the suites..the regular rooms now have that much thinner wrapper ( which at times can be seen being worn by clueless people in the morning in the CL lounge... lol)..more like a pool robe..than a bath robe IMO...I have seen those for sale in Sandy Cove...

Does anyone know if the refurbs are on schedule? Can't wait to see what the new SL lounge is going to look like.

The time is going to fly!! From what I have heard the refurbs are indeed on on schedule! I too am so curious about what new lounge will look like...

~ It pays to keep checking for ADRs..and FPs even if you don't get what you would like when you make your original plans... to date we have been able to add a BOG dinner ressie...and now O'hana's too!! Doing the dining happy dance!! lol...

Blue, a suitcase is out, but not for THE trip...we are going to Va. tomorrow to attend a college graduation. My stepdaughter's son is graduating from Liberty University this weekend. So proud of him! After we get back, the suitcase will stay out for the real packing pleasure!!

Didn't I mention...I did get one day secured with a FPP for the mine train. It's later than I want, so am trying to get 2 days, and earlier. Not an easy chore! Still want to get one for the afternoon parade...and that one is even harder to get!

Are the OB Deluxe rooms concierge level? Aren't some in the SL building...are only some of them...and then is that a bookable category?

The outer building deluxe rooms are not CL. I don't think SL has deluxe rooms that are a bookable category (someone please correct me if I'm wrong), but there are turret/lodge tower rooms that are larger than the standard rooms that can be requested. There are deluxe rooms in RPC (main building CL) that are a bookable category, although, from what I understand, those are sometimes hard to come by as there aren't that many of them.

Hi Bridget and WELCOME ... as MickeyNut said outer building deluxe rooms are not CL rooms...there are 3 deluxe rooms in SL which is the outer building CL ...but they are not a bookable category in SL....they are in the same inventory as the standard CL rooms..but can be requested if you are staying in that particular building...

Hi Candy A Disney inspired garden... how nice!!! We have many Disney inspired things around here too... .... makes them that much nicer!

We got and email invite to the BOG lunch....It has a link and info on how to book it... But...we already have BOG for dinner....so we are not sure what do to...decisions...decisions...lol...

Those rooms have had a variety of names over the years..turret..lodge tower..and most recently deluxe...They are the rooms with the extra sitting area (the turret bump out)... two queen beds...but..pre this rehab... no day bed..and in the sitting area a small sofa..which does not open to a bed..a chair and ottoman..and a tv cabinet...and a pretty French door leading out to the balcony..as opposed to the sliders...actually a very nice extra bit of space.... ( I think there are pics on the first page..)

In any of the outer buildings they are a separate bookable category..but not in SL..as I had mentioned...they are only by request...and there are only three...the second floor has an enclosed balcony..as it is part of the portico roof line...the third floor has the standard pretty railing..and the forth floor has NO balcony..due to the suite next door...also the balconies are a bit larger than the standard ones...

Post refurb I am not sure if a day bed will be added..since the furniture is now arranged differently..??? And who knows if they will add a sofa that opens??? Or even place the new day bed..which looks a lot like a sofa in the sitting area??? Only time and fellow DISsers will tell...lol..so hurry someone...and let us know!!! Lots of inquiring minds here!
