2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

No it didn't. When it was published on May 9 it said Rick Springfield. They just went back in and edited it to remove Rick and add the Commodores instead of making a new post. Look at the comments. The Commodores were added just yesterday. But Rick has been off the list since at least Monday.

Ah, okay, didn't see the comments. I wish they had a "last edit" type thing on the posts.

Really, you want to see the Commodores? I changed my trip dates to see Rick Springfield. I had front row seats to see him 33 years ago and was really excited to see him again. Now I'm bummed. Anybody know what happened?
That really sucks. :( I would be majorly bummed if the band I'm planning to see rescheduled or canceled.

Oh, I would've loved to see Rick! My husband though, grew up listening to The Commodores and he would love to see them! Since he's the one footing the bill for our month long F&W trips, whatever will keep him happy is fine with me. :) This is his favorite time of year to go and he really enjoys it! I myself, can't wait to see Wilson Philips, so different strokes for different folks!

I have hit page 6 of this thread so far so forgive me if someone asked between page 6 and 81. LOL

We are going for the first time during the last week in September. We do not want any special events just to have the experience to build off of in the future. Do you pay at each booth or do you buy a ticket for so many samples? Is there a map somewhere of all the booths?

Thank you and any other information for newbies is much appreciated!

This is what we did for our first F&W as well... Added a couple of special events the second time, and too many this time! LOL!!

You pay at each booth for the items you select. You can get a gift card and load it up to be able to pay quickly. Last year was our first F&W with magicbands and we used those for payment... maybe TOO easy!!

Other tips... Less busy Mon-Thu... For a full meal we found 2-3 savory and one dessert, avg price probably around $6 each. Lines for booths typically move pretty quickly.

Have a blast!

ETA: last year I got a map here on DIS after the first F&W day from someone who uploaded it -- usually happens pretty quickly. They then also had it available to download directly on Disney's website.

You pay at each booth. You can pay with cash, credit card, Disney gift card, room charge (if staying on property), and for some food items you can even use a Disney Dining Plan Snack Credit. If charging to your room you just tap your magic band against the reader and enter your 4-digit code.

Disney usually produces a map showing the location of each booth. I expect that will be true again this year and it will become available closer to the start of the festival. Once the festival opens, websites such as the Disney Food Blog will post photos of each menu board so we can see what is available at each booth along with all the prices.

Rick Springfield canceled at Epcot and several other US locales, as well as his October Australian tour, to film a movie with Meryl Streep.

Thanks for the info! I wonder how those who booked the dining package for those nights feel about this?!

Well they might be bummed, but they can just cancel it. However, if they don't know about the change and don't find out until it's too late to cancel they are going to be REALLY bummed.

I knew this would be the place to come for information. :thumbsup2 I noticed a few days ago that Rick was no longer on the list of performers while we're there. All other performers are listed on MDE's daily schedule, but they still haven't added the Commodores to the 24th & 25th - there isn't even a "marker" spot on the schedule for those dates. Thanks for the head's up - we'll enjoy the Commodores.

I have made a list of items I want to eat at the Festival this year. When do they post the cost of the items that will be available at the booths?

That may not happen until they actually start putting up the booths and menu boards.

This will be my first Food and Wine Festival, too. Really looking forward to it. Have you seen the list of booths and food yet? Here is a link:

It doesn't show prices, but they are listed to be between $3-$8. i've been buying Disney gift cards all year, so will be using those for our food. i'm also working on a list of where each booth will be as we walk around, then what foods they will have. Can't finish it until the actual 2014 map comes out, as there are new food booths this year. But i am so excited to go!

As TDC Nala said, we may not know the prices until the menu boards start appearing. However, you can look at last year's price list to get a general sense of the prices (especially for the items that are appearing this year that were there last year). I'd add a bit (maybe 25-50 cents) because prices to seem to go up each year.
