2014 Epcot Food and Wine Festival 9/19-11/10

I've been having a tough time figuring this out too ! The portion size isn't clear from the photos . When you say 3 booths max per meal are you talking 1 item at ea booth or ?

One item at each booth - for about 3-4 booths….

The biggest mistake I made the first year I attended was not PACING myself between booths…I looked at it like it was a sprint, and not a marathon, and that was the wrong attitude. I was stuffed; I was miserable; and I felt like a glutton. Gah.

Now, I will attend at least 2-3 days of the festival, and meander slowly through the showcase, choosing an item here…a drink there… another item here…and pacing myself. It's led to a much more enjoyable experience.

Also, it helps to split the food items with others in your party - so you can get a bite or two…that way, you can try more different items.

Sometimes- if possible- DH and I share one plate - just to taste it!

We go for 3 -4 nights to eat it all...and sometimes go back to the really great things

I would say 3- 4 plates is a dinner... Maybe 5

So if it's $6- you are spending $24-30 per person

....great advice....

i'm trying to be super organized about this. i've copied all the food items for each pavilion and country, then making a list of where they fall as we walk around Epcot. i don't want to fill up on things that are so so and then miss some super yummy items down the road. i have all the regular pavilions and their food items mapped out. Just need to get a map of where the other food booths will be stationed so i can map them in. We plan on sharing plates so we can maximize how many samples we can taste. i think this will help us from standing in lines, only to get to the front and discover there isn't anything we wanted at that booth.

I'd like one of those list too please :).

Is there a list yet of what is sold out and what events DISers are attending? We're booked for PFTS WVL 10/11, but haven't booked anything else yet.

I have an interesting question. I finally got smart after three years of F&W and didn't make ADRs for the days we're going to be in EPCOT. So I got to thinking, I still like to sit down and enjoy my meal. In mentally walking around the WS, I know there are tables next to Rose & Crown. I remember standing tables by Germany, but what other places can we sit down and enjoy our food? Liberty Inn or LA Cantina de San Angel?

I did something similar and divided WS into 4 "quadrants", based on the F&W booth map from last year. I have them divided like this:
Quadrants (clockwise around the lake, Future World at the top)
1: Ireland, Canada, Greece, Refreshment Port, Desserts & Champagne, Hawai'i, Scotland, Craft Beers
2: Terra, Brazil, Patagonia, Australia, Mexico, Singapore, China, South Korea
3: Africa, Brewer's, Germany, Poland, Italy
4: Hops & Barley, Farm Fresh, Japan, Morocco, New Zealand, Belgium, France

I also made a list of what I wanted to try in each "quadrant" so I had an idea of where there were enough things I wanted to serve as a full meal, where there were only desserts or snacks I would want, etc. For us, Quadrant 1 would be a full meal, but Quadrant 2 has enough "entree" type items that we'll need to hit that more than once for a meal.

... I realize I may sound a little crazy. :dance3:

Each booth has a menu board nearby so you can see what they have before getting in line. Here is a photo posted on the Disney Food Blog site from last year's festival from the Africa booth: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/africa-2013-epcot-food-and-wine-festival/

Once the festival opens, that site will have photos of the menus and food items for this year's festival that will help you prepare your list!

I am not going to recommend going inside a restaurant to sit down with your items.

Some places I found to sit: Tables outside (not inside) the Liberty Inn, picnic tables on the other side by the store, there are a few tables with chairs on the "mezzanine" of the Mexico pavilion, there is some outdoor seating available in Italy, there are benches on the lagoon side in most areas (not many of them), some "garden" seating alongside Rose & Crown although I think that gets taken over by the restaurant sometimes, picnic tables on the other side by the fish & chip shop, a few planters and ledges to sit on in Japan, they tend to put a few tables in beside the Belgium booth and some picnic type tables outside the Germany booth. Otherwise, no seating. We also don't know how much public seating is going to be lost to the Premium Package areas on weekdays.

i would be more than happy to share my list. i'm almost done. Working with the map of where each pavilion is located, and then where the additional food booths were last year. There are some new food booths this year, so won't know about placement until the new maps come out.

After i get our list done, i want to highlight in yellow all the things we really really want to eat. Anyhow, when i get the list done i'll post here and maybe i can email it to people who are interested.

My family is leaving on 9/19, therefore, our only F&W day will be the Cast Member Preview. I understand that not all booths may be open the whole time and some things may not be available. Will the booths take DDP Snack Credits on the Preview day or is that day only cash/credit/giftcard?

Good question! I plan on attending that day too and didn't even think of that.

Does anyone know if the Eat to the Beat Concert dining packages have come out yet? I saw July 31st a few places but when I search for it, it isn't even listed. Am I just too late to grab one? Is it something I have to call in order to book? Thanks so much for any help!

From what I am seeing, this is considered a Food and Wine Festival Event and is not one that can be booked online, so you have to call.

I would be very surprised if any of these packages sell out.

The Parisian Breakfast must have gone over very well with guests. Last year I was able to book it on a whim just a couple weeks before my trip the last week of October. Just tried calling to book for the same time of year and there weren't any available spots.

I assume once F&W events fill up they stay filled up, but has anyone had any experience with people cancelling and being able to book events that were previously full?

The F&W events are not officially cancellable or refundable, so there is no waitlist.

That said, they sometimes do allow people to cancel them on a case by case basis so it's not impossible.

But you might have a better shot if you go there on the day of and try to get a no-show spot or maybe ask Guest Services.

Thanks. No, I wasn't talking about inside seating, only outside.
