Thanks everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes
My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S9500. I've had it about a year and I love it! It's a point and shoot, which is perfect for me, and it's compact and easy to bring along to the parks. :)

Thank you! Those are great shots for a point and shoot! Mine is old and has some issues and I really didn't want to take all of our photos on our phones :)

I've only been booked a week but I've done a switch already and with well over a year before our trip I dread to think how many changes I could make. We had originally booked BC but I have been researching both a little more and the full balcony means a lot to us (with a little man who will be 5 it's nice to have somewhere to sit out of the way without disturbing him). I had also booked a standard view but we've switched to a garden view as it was a tiny price increase over a 2 week period and who wants to look at a roof for 2 weeks?

I am so excited to be so close to Epcot :cool1:

You are going to LOVE the balcony! It's the main reason we stay at the YC :) My son is 7 but when he was 5 we were able to stay on the balcony when he took a mid afternoon nap. Also, at night it's a place of my DH and I to hang out instead of the room. I found that if we hung out on the bed with the lights off until our DS fell asleep we ended up falling asleep too! We love quality time spent talking after our son goes to bed, that's half the fun of our trip!

BC was sold out for my dates for FD so my TA switched us to the Dark Side ;) I have FD, I'm still in the Epcot area so I am happy happy happy!! I told my DH that the YC had actual balconies for every room to which he asked if they were as big as the ones we had on our honeymoon. Oh heaven help me!! I quickly said nope, big enough for a smallish table and two chairs, no mattresses.

This will be our first time at BC (DD choice for her grad trip). Is there a place where the relatives that live in FL can come to visit? There will be about 10 of us total and I would like to do a grad party for DD with them, since they can't make it to her actual graduation. I would also like to get a cake, should I try Boardwalk Bakery???

The Solarium, off the Beach Club Marketplace, is a nice space with lots of comfy chairs and couches. It is where the Beach & Yacht DIS meets have been held every year.

I don't think there is a way to "reserve" the space, but depending on the time of day, it may not be very crowded.

Solarium

Just around the corner from the Marketplace is a great place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, to sip a refreshing beverage after a busy day at a theme park or to visit with friends, old or new. The Solarium has hosted a lively World Cup soccer viewing as well as the first annual Yacht & Beach Club DIS meet.

I haven't ordered cakes at Disney- I know there are some Cake Chatter threads, and perhaps some of the people who have gotten cakes at the resort will share their experiences.

Good morning all,

I have Yacht Club booked for November 16-21st (first stay!) and I am so excited. However, I am more excited that the friends traveling with us just moved from POFQ to the Beach Club under the free dining promotion. We are over the moon excited.

*snip*

Add us to the Be Our Guest list - party of 8 if you count both families. It can't come fast enough. We have to tackle dining reservations soon. :cool1:

Thanks,
Dani

:welcome:

I'll add you to the list

:woohoo:

Are your friends at the BC during the same dates you are at YC?

Would love to be added to the 2015 list. YC February 15-21 (after Feb 14 at HRH at UOR). Thanks!

Will do!

:cool1:

We really liked the Hard Rock

About an hour and 15 minutes if you're going to Cocoa Beach from the Disney area. I grew up in Orlando and it took me about 50 minutes but I was on the East side of town.

Thanks for the helpful info and :welcome: if this is your first time posting here.

Do you have an upcoming trip or are you just hanging out with us cool kids?

:goodvibes

I'll make the adjustment to your listing.

Thank you. Our eldest DS will be 12 and he is pretty cool about putting his pjs on and pretending to go to bed at the same time as his little brother. Our youngest tends to fall asleep within 10 mins (we did this on a week away last week) then our eldest gets up and joins the adults. I don't know if we will get him to nap during the day but if we can get him to bed at a reasonable time that's half the battle.

I'm assuming with it being close to the water I should take mosquito spray? I tend to get eaten alive but sometimes I can go nearly 2 weeks and then they feast on me just before we need to head home. I have some photos from AK a few years back where my legs are disgusting as they are covered in bites.

so, I have caved and convered to an Iphone 5c. I have decided that I just cannot do Disney with the App, and its not available on my faithful Blackberry.

Of course, this also means.......photobucket App and the posting of many pictures during our trip. :cool1:

we are booked at Beach Club for 1026/14 to 10/29/14, DH and myself, no children or grandchildren this trip. We are DVC members but no availability when we booked, (waited to long), so we are on cash reservations.
Looking forward to trying Beach Club Resort. Lot of information on this thread - thanks .

Captain's Grille - how is the food??? Thinking about trying this restaurant for breakfast or lunch before heading out to a park one day, but have never been here before. Recommendations and / or opinions?????? Thanks!! Love this thread and looking forward to our stay at YC!

It is a hidden gem! We dined there twice during our 5 day trip last July. My review of the dinner is below, but I haven't gotten to the lunch in my trip report yet (It was great!)

Here are some links with pictures and reviews. I have these in the Dining Post on Page 1 of this thread.

Here is a link to a few pictures from the daily breakfast buffet provided by TaraPA: Breakfast Buffet pictures
