With the very notable exception of BTMRR, I think they're about the same. Maybe a little longer outside of the first scan, but not so I really noticed.

BTMRR is crazy. Twice we went to ride it and the fp queue was so long we couldn't see where it ended. We waited and came back a little later and it was fine - still longer than before but it moved quickly.

When I was there in Jan the return for btmrr was also very long, but I timed it and from when I got into line from when I stepped off the ride was about 15 mins.

DH and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at the BC Aug. 18 to 22nd. It's our first trip without our DD's ages 23 and 14. We are really looking forward to it.

What is the BOG list for?? We are sending my In-laws for their first visit ever to Disney. They are staying at Yacht Club April 30 to May 4.
Are the doors to the rooms metal? I wanted to decorate their door like we did on the Disney Cruise.
Thanks

Hi all!

Two questions:

2 of us

Do we need ADR's to eat dinner at Crew's Cup Lounge - probably eating during evening on a Friday?

How late can we schedule an ADR at Captain's Grille for breakfast? We wanted to eat around 10:30 on a Sunday morning, then relax around pool and head out to the Halloween Party at MK that night.

thanks everyone and have a great Saturday night! :p

I think the BOG list is for the fun of knowing that some of our online friends will be there when we are. Maybe someone else has a better explanation.

The doors to the rooms are not metal. Magnets will not stick.

Decorating the doors at deluxe results is actually somewhat controversial. Some people think it's fun, other people think it detracts from the ambience and theming. Still other people don't care about how it looks, but say that it's inappropriate because it could harm the hotel property.

Ok - I just couldn't resist staying at the BC this year. The kids had been so sad that they would miss Stormalong Bay and Beaches and Cream. I'd been mulling it over for a few weeks and decided to bite the bullet. I booked us one night on the CL at the BC the day we return from our Fantasy cruise. We'll be there August 9th.

Glad to be back on the Be Our Guest list officially!

:welcome: I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1. Yes, you should keep checking back. People make changes all the time. You may want to particularly pay attention to when you are 45 days out from your trip since this is when the balances for trips must be paid. If someone cancels their BC stay, you may be in luck.

I am so excited to say we were able to move to the BC!!! This is our first stay at the BC and I couldn't be more excited! I think our kids will love SAB, the resort looks beautiful, and it is in an ideal location! This is a wonderful thread with a wealth of information - thank you! I hope there will not be any issue with having our price adjusted when the public specials come out. We have a GV room booked. Has this been an issue with anyone else not being able to have your cost adjusted?

I'm so glad you were able to make the switch! I'll adjust the BOG list

:)

It's official!!! Just booked Beach Club in a standard room for 8 nights in August:cool1:. It was a great rate, and actually worked out cheaper than a preferred room at POR with the discount coming out on Monday. Even better, it's all done and I don't have to fret about getting up early to call or book when the discount is released. This will be our first time at the Beach Club. My kids are so excited for Stormalong Bay, and Epcot is hands down our favourite park, so being able to walk there will be wonderful!
Dh can't join us for this trip, and we've decided not to do the ddp. DD17 is a vegetarian and often prefers to make a meal of appetizers, ds10 is adult price now but won't always eat an adult portion, and none of us want dessert with every meal. So we are looking forward to snacking and eating in Epcot several times. I've also booked us for Cape May and Beaches and Cream. I am gettting so excited!!!

Congrats on booking your trip! I'll add you to the list.

:thumbsup2

One more night here at the YC. Just wanted to check in and say it has been an incredible trip. The weather has been cool but great. I'm drinking a margarita at Stormalong Bay right now!

We did the Epcot Seas Aqua Tour Wednesday and that was a highlight of the trip. I can't recommend it enough.

Magic Bands have worked really well for us and I have to admit I have even mellowed out and enjoyed myself more. I haven't had trouble moving times around - even day of and during this busy spring break.

Will write more later!

So glad you had a great trip. Thanks for giving us an update.

Wishing you safe travels home.

:goodvibes

This is the BEST thread ever!:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thanks Mickey & Minnie Mom for cluing me in to the Disney Visa Discount for summer! I had no idea it even existed. I called and mentioned it and Disney actually discounted my reservation! I really can't believe it. So Awesome...

Thanks for the kind comments, and as you pointed out, this thread is really special because of all of the people who hang out here and generously share info!

:goodvibes:

Happy to have helped out.

Totally agree, this thread is the best.

Thank YOU!

Ok, Beach and yacht Club experts, I need help! I won a wonderful Disney trip and am in the process of getting reservations confirmed. I've been to Disney several times, but this time we have a two year old son. His first trip- so excited. I got to give my top choices for the resort that we wanted. I picked the Beach Club as number one and got it. I was hoping that we would be able to upgrade our room at our expense to a one bedroom villa. We really need a separate space for my husband and I to relax in after our little guy goes to bed. Disney has been awesome ( the trip was for 4, since it is just the three of us they added 2 nights on our trip for free! ). However, they are not allowed to upgrade, even if we pay for it. Right now we are booked in a water view room at the beach club. I understand that not all rooms have balconies, and that is a must for us! I don't really care what the view is, I just need a space away from our sleeping son. So, before I give a long list of requests the woman booking us, I wanted your expert opinion first. Sorry, if I am rambling, no one else in the house will listen to my Disney talk:)

Here is what I want- a King bed room, with a day bed on the ground floor with a patio. As long as I am not looking at a parking lot I am happy. My son is a climber, and afraid of elevators, hence the ground floor. So my first question is do all the ground floor rooms have patios at the Beach Club? Next question, does water view = a higher floor? Would I be better off asking for a garden view room at the Yacht Club? We are going he second week of September. Thanks for any input!

:welcome: to this thread and congratulation on winning this trip!

Most of the BC ground floor rooms have patios. I believe there are some ground floor Water View rooms. I know I have some pictures of a YC waterview room on the ground floor in the View Thread.

Since you do not want an upper floor, then the fewer number of balconies at BC is probably not a factor for where to stay.

The King Bed request will probably be the harder one to satisfy. There are only a limited number of rooms at both the BC and YC with this bedding configuration.

Not sure if this info helps, but hoping you get a room that works for you!

:cloud9:

Looking booking the YC Dec 15-21 and was wondering what crowd levels are like the week prior to Christmas? We loved the BC and hope we like the YC just as much!

Sent from my iPhone using DISBoards

Please let us know if you book your trip! Not sure about the crowd levels, but others have, and hopefully will, answer.

Howdy all,

Been waiting until today to request to be added to the BOG list...

We'll be at BCV this August 18-25 (DD 12th BD)

And I just booked BCV Feb 15-20, 2015! :yay:

Life is always better when you have vacations to look forward to...

:welcome:

I'll add you to the BOGs for this year and next!

:woohoo:

page 131-133 continued

If this has been discussed before, I apologize, and maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I'm trying to figure out the pros and cons to online check-in vs. checking in upon arrival. We don't really have any room requests/desires, so I'm not sure if one is better than the other. I'm assuming that by checking in on-line in advance, we'll save some time at the hotel? But, having never stayed at the BC before (and only having been to WDW once in recent history, ie as an adult), I'm wondering if we should take the time to get the whole spiel or whatever they might talk to us about if we checkin upon arrival. Thoughts? TIA!

Great question! Since you don't have any specific requests that are important to you, you are a great candidate for the advanced online checkin.

I have a section in the FAQ about online vs. in person checkin, but I think I need to revise the advice there, which is pretty much, if you have special requests, it is best to check-in when you get there so that you can discuss the room location you have been assigned before the keys are cut.

But with all of the Magic Band and MDE linking and all that, I'm not sure what the best advice is now.

:)

DD asked to do "one more trip to Disney with just the four of us" to celebrate her high school graduation. So excited to be back at the Beach Club - hands down the family favorite of the places we have stayed.

We'll be there June 29 - July 5. Would you add us to the BOG list?

Many thanks!

:welcome:

Nice!

I'll add you to the list.

:cool1:

Well we are back home after a wonderful stay at the beach club.

Our last day was action packed and ended with 2 hours at SAB before catching the magical express to the airport. The ride was a bit longer than expected because of traffic but we still had time once we got to the airport.

We checked out and used the bag drop off that sends them right to the airport for us. This was nice and our bags were the first off the plane when we landed ( totally random I know but I'd like to think it was more BC pixie dust!). We handed our carry ons to bell services and we enjoyed the day. I cannot rave enough about how amazing BC is. The room at BCV was fantastic as was mouse keeping. Everyone at the resort was very accommodating and we were treated like royalty. SAB was great and the kids loved it. We would definitely go back.

I am on the trip report bandwagon but we will see once real life kicks in again!

Thanks again for touching base with us during your trip. You better stick around and keep hanging out with us!

:goodvibes

This is an awesome thread!

Natebenma, I remember you from my trip report (the one in my sig) a few years back. You all have done a great job with this thread.

This is short-notice, but I will be staying at the YC from 3/17 - 3/21. It is a solo trip (business-related type thing), but I will be sure to scout out the SAB for my family while I am there. This thread helped me get all the info I need for my upcoming trip. Keep up the great work!

:welcome: Tex!

Great to "see" you again!

Hope you will be sharing some of your great pictures here with us. Enjoy your stay.

Not too late to get you onto the Be Our Guest list, so I'll add your trip info.

:yay:

DH and I will be celebrating our 25th anniversary at the BC Aug. 18 to 22nd. It's our first trip without our DD's ages 23 and 14. We are really looking forward to it.

:welcome: and Happy Anniversary!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list

:woohoo:

We are staying at the YC in Nov. Our flight home doesn't leave until 8pm. Can we check our luggage at 9am to be delivered to the airport? or is there a certain time frame before the flight leaves that you can check the luggage.

I know you have to have the luggage brought to 'flight services' at least 3 hours in advance but this would be 11 hours in advance.

We want to spend the last day in one of the parks and not have to worry about going back to the resort to deal with our luggage.

Great question. I think you should be fine, but hopefully someone will let me know if there is a time limit that is too early to turn in the luggage.

Our flight in July was at 7:30 PM and we checked in our luggage between 6:30 and 7 am, I believe. It was before we headed to HS for early EMH.

The one restriction I do know about is that the RAC check-in desk is not open all day- it closes at either noon or 1 pm or something like that.

:thumbsup2

:welcome: to the thread!

As was pointed out, the BOG list is just a little fun place to list who is staying at the resorts and when. You can see who will be visiting at the same time as you are. It is also nice to have a place to go to see the details of your trip when you need a morale boost.

Let me know if you want me to add your inlaws info to the list.

1 question- does the Crew's Cup take advanced reservations?

Not sure how late breakfast runs at the Captain's Grille. I would think 10:30 would be fine, but not positive.

:)

Another Captain's Grill breakfast ADR question....

Do we need an ADR for breakfast at the Captain's Grill? I like our breakfast time to be a bit more free flowing since I'm on vacation and don't know what time I want to get my butt out of bed. I do want to check out the Captain's Grill for breakfast at least once, but would rather not decide the date and time this far in advance.

Anyone have good experience getting in with a walk-up for breakfast?

I have walked up before and had to wait maybe 20 mins tops. I'm not sure how it would be if it were a busy time of the year. I would live dangerously and go without the reservation:scared1:

We have reservations at Captain's Grill for breakfast on our trip this week, Thursday and next Tuesday. I'll let you know how busy it is. :)

DH and DD have walked up in August without an ADR and had a five minute wait.

To all experienced BC guests: How long would it take to get to the MK entrance via the monorail, allowing for the time to walk from the BC to the entrance of Epcot, and include a transfer to monorail that goes to the MK?

Ooh! Ohh!! Pick Me I Know!!!

Yes you can do walk ups for breakfast at the Captain's Grille! I HAVE!!! You run the variable risk of being delayed or even shut out if it is insanely busy or they have not adequately staffed the restaurant, but if it were me, I would mosey on over at some point prior to my stay and ask the staff what they think about a walk up during the time frame I am considering.

If I knew for sure that we definitely wanted to eat here, like lets say a nice breakfast before our plane departs I would book a definite time so we wouldn't be delayed....

But if I was rolling out of bed all hung over and desperate for a lobster omelet, I would haul my sorry butt down there as soon as I could muster the strength and take my chances at a walk up. The mere sight of me in this condition would be enough for the staff at the restaurant to take pity on me and hide me in a dark corner of the restaurant, preferably not near the wavy moving picture, and rehydrate me with citrus filled electrolytes.

I'm thinking that this second scenario is probably closer to your actual circumstances so I'm sure my experience will be of assistance to you.

Too long, IMHO. The bus would be much faster.

Figure 20-25 minutes to the front of Epcot....wait 5-10 minutes for monorail...another 5-10 minutes to TTC....wait 5-10 minutes for monorail to MK...5 minutes to MK.

You're looking at between 40-60 minutes. The bus ride is less than 15 minutes plus some waiting time. :goodvibes

My input: ;)

1. if a balcony is a must, then switch to the YC. You only have a 50% chance of getting a balcony at the BC

Wow only a 50% chance?!? I'm going to try to amend our YC reservation if the summer discounts go live this week. I was afraid that we might have to switch to BC but the balcony is a MUST for us so that stat you mentioned is good to know. The main reason we choose a deluxe is for the balconies. We also like to sit out there and have some down time while my son naps. I've read out there before, and at night we love having some wine out on the patio. We learned that if we relax on the bed while waiting for our son to sleep we get sleepy too which is not always ideal. We need adult time too! ;)

I have had so much fun reading this thread. Thank you to all of you.:worship:
I cannot remember if this has been asked :confused3 (probably has:rolleyes1) but there has been so much other fun stuff to enjoy & learn.

So does anyone know.... (of course someone does, :wave2: ya'll know everything :wizard:)
How many Club Level rooms have full balconies?
How many CL rooms are there?

Can't wait for June to get here! :woohoo:

Have a great day!

We took this route several times (usually from MK to BC) and it's about 45 mins. We definitely didn't do it as a time saver, more a sanity saver. We weren't often in a rush to get back to the resort and rather liked avoiding the bus via a stroll through EPCOT. It's an enjoyable adventure and we plan to partake again this summer.
