(2014-2020) Disney's GRAND FLORIDIAN RESORT & SPA + VILLAS Information & Questions

Well, I just changed our reservations from March 1-5 to May 9-13. Our studio has too much going on in the beginning of 2016 to take a vacation that soon. Downside: I was more jazzed than I should admit to be making FP+ choices tomorrow, which now has to wait another 61 days. Upside: With their 'Springtime Special' Disney currently has going on, I got the EXACT SAME room, tickets and dining plan for $1000 less. A nice surprise I was not anticipating. In case anyone is curious, we are staying Deluxe King CL RPC with Deluxe Dining and Park Hopper with water park + more. Originally $6k, now $5k. When I vacation I splurge, so the price doesn't bother me. I respect whatever amount people spend/save/can afford for Disney, so please don't flame me. Oh, and HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE! :)
Happy New Year to you! And May in WDW sounds Grand! Plus saving $1000 YESSS! This is great news. No flames here, as someone who needs to book 2 rooms..CL with a discount is still YIKES! But all worth it, my splurge is Disney and my DH gets it. Very happy for you! Cheers :)

Please forgive me...but when can you begin to make FP+ reservations? What is the time frame for that again? Trying to help my DD and soon to be SIL with their honeymoon trip! Thanks

Happy New Year everyone! I have a question about hot tubs...where are they located? Are they at courtyard and beach pool? Approximately how many at each pool? Also, the courtyard pool will be closed for alomost our entire trip in 2 weeks- we are so bummed! If there are hot tubs at the courtyard pool, do you think they will be closed along with the pool? Thanks guys!

For an onsite stay, as long as you have tickets linked, you can make your FP selections at 60 days out. :)

Not flaming!! Congrats on the savings. It's just been our exp. staying CL with DDP it was overkill and we never enjoyed the lounge offerings. We had DDP with first CL stay, after that we didn't do DDP with CL. If I'm staying CL ESP RPC I want to enjoy it!!

only one hot tub, it's pretty large. But it's at Courtyard pool. Maybe someone who is thete now could find out if it will remain open. It's sort of in its own area in front of pool toward courtyard. So maybe??

oh my goodness. I had no idea there was only one hot tub on property... if its closed for our entire trip I would be really bummed. Its definitely something my family really looks forward to doing on vacation :(
I hope someone there now can find out for you. We love the beach pool, it's our fav. Has a great slide too!

Hi All! we are excited (and shocked) that our waitlist came in for our first DVC trip and we will be at the villas at the grand Floridian villas in may! we have a standard view studio booked. Any suggestions for a room requests? Any specifics we could request to be able to see fireworks? if not that's okay, we are just excited to be staying at the GF!

hi, we loved the GF and we are doing a split stay in April with the Yacht club... i need to know what kind of mattress do the standard rooms use? I could wait until i'm there but i forgot to look last time, and i need a new mattress. thanks!

Does anyone know if cribs are still available at GF?

We had no issue getting one at the Contemporary this past April, so I'm hoping we can get one at GF as well. :)
So you did get the answer that yes there are cribs. We had one in October and they were great. I also wanted to let you know that if you have one of the rooms with a walk in closet- we had one in a king deluxe- we put the crib in the closet. It was like he had his own little room. We always bring our monitor which had a little light so we put that in there too. He slept really well in there. :)

It is 60 days before- starting at midnight - so think of it like 61 days at midnight. :)

So I did some changing :) Because that's what I do ;) I was able to add on a night at GF (I kinda took a night away from Universal). And we will be at Hard Rock instead. Our new GF dates are 8/6-8/14 (Sue we can watch Wishes together) I decided I wanted to end my summer trip at the Grand :)

Happy New Year everyone! I don't know if you all remember, but when I started my plan to Grand Floridian around this time last year, it was my motivation 'reward' for losing 100 pounds. I didn't lose the weight but I still got my trip LOL! This year I'm doing something crazy...I started a blog where I'm going to try 12 different diet plans over 12 months! I haven't asked my hubby if the reward can be another trip to WDW, but I'll have to ask! If anyone wants to follow my journey or just give me support over the year, my site is whatdietnext.com. That's my handle on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter as well. Wish me luck...it may get crazy!

I just wanted to wish you good luck! I'd say Disney would be a good reward.
