Hope that time flies..nothing like a WDW trip..and especially with a stay at the GF to help you feel better and rest up! :goodvibes

What a wonderful sentiment...and so true...:goodvibes

Trish Loved when you shared that story with me when you were on your trip ::yes::...and am so happy that you shared it here too...GF really is a very special place! :wizard:

I agree..!! As for the transportation...I think that based on the time of year..we plan our travel time differently with all of the recent monorail issues..and find that we use the water launches more..even if they are not always the most direct route...:boat:

...:faint:.......Not properly dressed guests probably what we have seen most of...and of course the occasional person who thinks that the lounge is their own personal living room....lol..yep sprawled out on the sofas..I think that might be one of the reasons that they are no longer there....I have seen the lounge staff politely address children who are taking food with their hands instead of using the proper utensils....but overall..our lounge experiences in RPC have been very nice....:thumbsup2

Lol..I just said the same thing when responding to MickeyNut's post...I think I might have seen a pic or two...:cool2: of those not properly clad peeps in the lounge....:rotfl:....????? Also..arent't you forgetting some other people that you regularly spend time with in the lounge....???? huh...:earsgirl: ....and I certainly don't think its a bad thing when someone recognizes you from previous trips...It simply means that you are like minded...lol..Disney..especially GF fans are the best....:thumbsup2 So happy that we have gotten to know Dispro during the last few trips! The more GF friends the merrier!

Kook I share Maxie's sentiments too about the general ambiance of the lounge in RPC....if you really plan to spend a lot of lounge/resort time...there is not a nicer place to do it....:cloud9: :lovestruc.... not only is the music enchanting...the surroundings welcoming, airy and bright ( especially the carpet...lol.....:rainbow:) ..and oh so spacious..the CMs are so very attentive and friendly...it just adds so much to the overall experience....and most of the other guests..young and old seem be under the same relaxing spell..and just enjoying the vibe...I know that you will have a Grand stay! Also...truly enjoyed your trip review and pics too...thanks so much for sharing! :goodvibes

Hope that you all have an enjoyable long weekend....:earsgirl: preppy GF gal..who cannot wait to get back to my happy place! :thumbsup2

Hey preppy gal I am pooped from a great family day boating!!!

Dreaming of my next Disney trip! Since we are not staying at gf this time I might need The Tea Room:)

Good one! Yes, I'll take all the blame! Tell DH it was all my fault. Hey, now I have to use my magical erasing quill to take you off the BoardWalk Bulletin:badpc:

Good thing you have the erasable quill :rotfl::rotfl:.

As always, awesome pics, KOOK :thumbsup2.

98 days!!! I can't wait and her pics are always amazing

DH just shakes his head at me....good thing for erasable quills ;) yes lots of new pics but mine will have kiddies.

The time will fly by and you will be checking into the Grand before you know it ::yes::.

My DH does the same thing . He will ask where I booked and then if later on I start talking about a different resort, he'll say "I thought we were staying at _________?"....to which I respond, "yeah, I changed that"...LOL...he just shakes his head and laughs....gotta love a DH that is easy going and just goes with the flow ;).

Looking forward to your pics :goodvibes.

KOOK - Thank you for sharing your pictures! You showed me some pics of the GF that I never saw and probably never will - the inside of the gym! I'm so bad when it comes to exercise. The GF is beautiful no matter where you take pictures from. That's one thing that I will never forget.

Took DS back to college yesterday. I didn't cry at all, not like last year when it was his first year away.

Enjoy the last "unofficial" day of summer my GF friends!

Love the pix Kook!

:)

Good thing you have the erasable quill :rotfl::rotfl:.

As always, awesome pics, KOOK :thumbsup2.

I'm glad you've enjoyed the photos. With having 3 resort thread logs and a resort-conflicted friend, you have no idea how many times I've had to employ that magical erasable quill:badpc:

 That's too funny, but I'm glad I could show you around.

The gym is one of those things on vacation I really look forward to. I love getting up early and exploring the quiet resort a bit before the gym or having a cup of coffee - usually all alone in some comfy spot. This may sound odd, but it's something both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. It's a change from my usual routine, yet still a routine, even when I'm away from my regular gym.

So does this mean I'm going to cry a year from now? I can't even imagine how many tissues I'll need, but it's good to know that it will get easier. Our DDs are the same age so maybe we'll be in the same tear-filled boat next year?

This hoodie was added at the end of the month. The large "GF" patch is not covered nor completely sewn on the inside and is "exposed" and scratchy. I didn't purchase it for that reason.

The GF has a gym????:rotfl2: The laundry room is another place I never saw until one year we got caught in an bad thunder storm (maybe even a microburst? hail, rain blowing sidewise, trash cans flying by) in DTD and got drenched. I literally poured water out of my shoes when we got back...had to find the laundry room to dry our clothes and shoes. :eek:Another place I do not want to see on vacation but as you can see it was an extenuating circumstance . :rotfl2:

KOOK, Glad to see more resort specific merchandise.

I always do as you take some of the best pics :thumbsup2.

LOL on the magical erasable quill! We are currently booked for a Poly/CR split for next summer, but since it is very possible there will be changes made to the resort and/or dates, I haven't had you add me the CR log .

Current resort-branded merchandise

Thanks for the merchandise pics, glad they're bringing back more resort specific items ;).

Sunrise around the grounds…

Love these early morning pics, so peaceful :cloud9:.

Did Gasparilla Grill just go through a reno? Are they open? Searched but can't find anything.

Hi! I am not sure if I am posting on the correct thread, but I thought all of the Grand Floridian fans would know the answer...

We are absolutely thrilled to be visiting Disney World this fall --- first time for my daughter and first time (since we were in elementary school) for my husband and I. We couldn't be more excited to be staying at the Grand Floridian!! It is a dream come true. Along with our daughter's first trip, we are celebrating our 15th Anniversary --- I'd like to have that information noted in our reservations, but I am not sure how to go about it (or even if it is necessary --- my sister suggested it) Is that something I would call the Grand directly to note on my reservation or should I call Disney's reservation line? I can't find a place in My Experience to add it. Any suggestions you all might have is greatly appreciated!! Thank you! Thank you!

Congrats! Call the Disney reservation line add the anniversary and 1st trip onto your celebration :) It's not necessary, but it's cool to celebrate!!

Staying at the GF for the first time in a long time, at least 10 years. Love the counter service. I do have a few questions, since we usually stay at the Contemporary. How is it trying to fit a wheelchair in the room? Are the custom salads at the counter service only during lunch or is it at dinner too? I am looking forward to laying out by the pool, that's one thing I never used at Contemporary because it's right near the main pool.

WDWKOOK...really love the sunrise pics.

Sunrise at WDW is one of the nicest times of day. The soft chirps of the birds, the wonderful smell of freshness, the quiet, the soft blue in the sky and that golden hue of the sun sprinkled on everything like pixie dust. I love it.

:rotfl2:

I have had many RPC stays and have never seen truly bad behavior, I have seen some questionable attire though :rolleyes1, but for the most part quests are well behaved. The CM's are top notch, but as with anywhere it takes time for them to get to know you. I have seen an occasional bad review, it's not for everyone, but I think some people go in with unrealistic expectations. The food offerings are way above other CL's...and they have champagne!.. for the purists it is sparkling wine, but close enough for me. :thumbsup2 What truly sets it apart is the lounge. It is so nice to sit in the lounge in the evening drinking champagne and listening to the music from the lobby. We're old, DH has bad knees, it's too much work to get to the MK at night now...so if we don't have a dinner ADR somewhere we just sit in the lounge and enjoy the music. On several occasions we have run into the same guests...is it bad when someone comes up to you and asks "were you here last October" hmmm does that mean we're there too often? :rotfl2: We met Dispro and her DH in the lounge during the super bowl last year and watched again with them this year. :goodvibes

Music City Mama, Enjoy your first GF stay.
I agree with everything you said, Maxie! And sparkling wine is fine with me! I'm sure there may have been some guests being ridiculous that I haven't noticed because I'm in my own little heaven and too happy to notice, but all I've ever noticed is silly people wearing nothing but a robe to breakfast -LOL....and honestly, I don't even care about the robes as long as they have something on their feet:) And if being recognized by people (whether other guests or CMs) is bad, I don't care because that just adds to the fun!! Seeing Maxie and Blueskies over Super Bowl weekend has become somewhat of a tradition for me and DH now, and we would be really sad if they weren't there! I'm looking forward to Super Bowl 50:yay:!!

I've seen the bathrobe people in RPC, which I really don't like. But the worst is the wet swimsuit people. Those chairs sure do take a long time to dry...

Sorry to post mid - convo but I had to share my excitement ( something minor ) with you guys.

I have upgraded my room to lagoon view room :teeth:. There wasn't any theme park view rooms available.

I have over a year until my holiday but am so excited already to stay at GF for the first time!!
