Love the pictures BlueSkies!!! This makes me even more excited for my very first stay at VGF! I have dreamed of staying there since I was 10 and I saw it for the first time. Almost at the 60 day window!

Blue, my new ticker...lol....I can't make it work! It's supposed to say that we are going (my sis and I) to DL in Sept. but there's red underlining on the details I am trying to copy and paste on here, so I'm clueless..don't know how to remove the underlining. I made it happen somehow by hitting a wrong key, I guess! I'm just gonna remove it until I can "break the code"! Any techies out there want to help??

Well, I guess I'll be staying at GF over the 4th of July weekend to see the fireworks. I'm currently in a lagoon view room (theme park view wasn't available). Are there any requests I should make as far as building or room? Or should I just go ahead and pay $250 more and get RPC, lol. For the short time I will be there though, I can't see myself using all the services that come with a main building stay.

Also I wonder if the fireworks music will be piped in somewhere along the beaches to stand out there and watch- I know this particular fireworks on the holiday usually has the perimeter fireworks around the lagoon, so that's why I booked a monorail resort.

LV rooms at the GF are so nice! I always suggest Boca Chica since I think that it has great views ( TPV LV and GV..) and is very centrally located on the property.. You can view the fireworks from the marina area in front of Gasparilla's ...I was there recently and there were working speakers right there in the gardens...during the day there was music playing..I am thinking that during Wishes that music would be piped in...You can also view them from the boat dock..where you can faintly hear the music..since it is piped onto the porch area of nearby Narcoosee's restaurant....although I am an RPC fan..I think that if you are hesitant about the worth of CL for such a short trip..you can use the $$ elsewhere...maybe a massage..or some shopping or even a fireworks cruise! have a great trip!

Thanks so much for all the wonderful information. After switching resorts/room/views four times from our original ressie, I'm excited to be saying I'll be at the beautiful GF SL this Friday!

Congratualtions!! SL is in the perfect location for a summer trip ...so close to the courtyard pool and the boat dock too...We always prefer a courtyard view...but I understand that the marina views are lovely too....

Also, I am working on a map of Sugarloaf with room numbers but it won't be posted in time for your trip.

However I did find that the even number rooms face the courtyard and the odds face the marina. I am so pathetic. I like to know where my room is at check in. For poly, cr ,BLT, and VGF I know the numbers so I know where I am when they tell me the room numbers.

You are correct that in SL all of the even numbered rooms are on the courtyard side...and odd numbers are on the marina side....the rooms closest to the main building side of the SL lodge..are 6101 ( marina side) and 6102 (courtyard side)...I think that 27/28 is the last room number....closest to Conch...HTH...

i actually took pics of the marina side of SL for you....but when I tried to upload them I am getting the file too large message.... ...so...I am going to just text them...lol...Wanted to share them here too...but its just not working!

The room numbers are 6220, 6320 and 6420. The second digit is floor number. Floor 2and 3 turret have a balcony. We had one once and I loved it!!

Just wanted to add that the turret/deluxe room on the 2nd floor does have an enclosed balcony due to the portico roof line....

I missed your send-off AND your vacation! Welcome back and hope you had a wonderful trip. Looking forward to more pictures and info!

Thank you for your suggestion! I wasn't sure if all the lagoon side Boca Chica rooms were TPV or not, thinking I would probably end up with a room in Big Pine Key facing the Polynesian. But I may request Boca Chica if some are LV. Their definitions of TPV and LV seem kind of odd, lol.

I know they had a couple different flavors... But the muffins on the left hand side in the 3rd picture, with no wrappers, if those are the apricot muffins those are my absolute favorite!! I loved them so darn much and I can't wait to get my hands on them again!

Yes, you can totally do the last minute packing...well actually there's not much left..but if you good get a god nights sleep for me tomorrow night and do the flight for me I'd be truly grateful! Wish I could put you all in my carry on!!! I already sent my suitcase down with the family

That was taken on the GF beach. You go through to the back of the Main Building and turn right. The beach can be seen just before you reach the Beach Pool.
