Thanks for the advice Blue Skies!!

I'm snowed in yet AGAIN..Dreaming of Disneyworld more than normal today.

On the Disney website for the GF near the bottom of this page:

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/resorts/grand-floridian-resort-and-spa/rates-rooms/

...they describe a "Outer Bldg-1 Bedroom Suite -Club Level Access" (views of courtyard pool, 2 queens + 1 sleeper sofa)

On the 1st page of this FAQ, they classify these suites as B1, BN, B2, etc. Where can I find more about these classification codes, and which describes this suite?

And which outer Bldg is this usually found in?

And being CL, where would we be eating? SL?

I hope to hear more about it!!! It's been a dream of mine to go to DL for so long now. And "Saving Mr Banks" made me crave it even more!!!

All of the outer buildings do have suites available....some have specific names like the ..like the Sanibel and Biscayne in Sago...and some do not...not really sure why that is...but when you call CRO..they will have the particular descriptions for you on what you are booking..and which buildings they are located....it is my understanding that all outer building suites have access to both CLs...Although I have never stayed in an outer building suite... ..from what we have seen all of the suites are quite lovely...and spacious....

Morning, GF pals....I'm back home from California and my first stay at the Disneyland Hotel. I'm in love with that place!!! :cloud9:

Welcome back!!!!! We missed you around here! Looking forward to hearing all about your DL trip!!! :goodvibes

I was in contact with our GF FAQ hostess k&a&c'smom the other day... All is well but hectic in her neck of the woods right now..but she sends a big hello :wave2: to all...and is hoping to be back here soon! Hurry it up k&a&c ....we miss you around here too!

~ Just read on news and updates that Soarin and TSM are going to be expanded to accommodate more riders by 2016 :thumbsup2 ...maybe now the waits wont be so very long for these two popular attractions!??? Soarin is a personal fave of mine....my record so far is to have ridden it 3 times in a row...but that was in the days of the old FPs...*sigh*....

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans have a fab Friday! :earsgirl:

Suites have access to both lounges ( at least that has been our experience). Honestly, I would ignore the info on the Disney site the info here is much more accurate. Post #3 that you read has a pretty good description of the suites you can use the code so the phone rep can identify the suite you are looking for. What you describe is most likely a BN and could be in a couple of the outer buildings on the fifth floor.

Ok so I have two theme park view rooms booked for our trip, parents in one, my family in the other. Is there anyway that one of the outer building suites would be in the same price range? Or am I just dreaming lol

I have been to DL several times in the past few years, but this was our first stay on the property and also my first visit to CA. I had a whole day in each park and another few hours with DH (yes, Blue, he wanted to go to DL!) in DL. I had time to ride and do all I wanted to. The weather was not good for my CA day but I still enjoyed Carsland:) and a few other well-chosen attractions. Sadly, my classic favorite, PP, was down for refurb, as was Soarin'. :sad2: I got to see DL's version of Fantasmic, and boy, was it!! Love, love, loved it!

We rented a car for the week, visited other sites but ended up at the DL hotel for the last 3 nights. That place made me start dreaming of my next visit before I ended this one...:cloud9:

If anybody can figure out how to remove a vacation countdown (I tried to search how and apparently either I'm techno-stupid or their instructions are not clear enough)

Hello GF fans! I haven't posted in years but wanted share news about our recent glorious stay at my beloved GF! It's been 6 years since our last Disney trip and we scheduled a quick trip with our youngest two (twins and seniors in high school) before heading over to the beach. Just two nights at the GF, but we were very excited. Upon check in we were given the exciting news of a lovely upgrade to RPC and named Family of the Day!
Have never stayed club level at the GF and it was truly very special! Our room was beautiful, #4328, with a great view of the lagoon, the beach pools and the new Villas. Ahh, we hated to leave! Now we are at the beach but the kids and I wish we were back at Disney!

We have not stayed at the GF in many years but thinking we would have better luck this trip (bad experience last time). What outer building is best to avoid most smoking areas? Are the pool bars smoke free?

Every building has 1 DSA outside of it. You can see where they're located on the map in post #1 of this thread. There is no smoking anywhere but in a DSA, so no smoking at the pool bar.

I got some Mickey Mail today!!! Just our little booklet that gives us an overview and tells me my dining and FP+ booking dates...but it somehow makes it more real!!!!

:dance3: Woohoo..Nothingllike getting some Mickey mail!!! :thumbsup2

Whiteside61 Welcome back to the DIS! :goodvibes And congrats on your fabulous upgrade!!! :wizard: Bet it was hard to leave the GF after that! Hope you are enjoying your beach vacay...The Florida beaches both on the gulf and the Atlantic are so beautiful....

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans are having a wonderful weekend...:cutie: preppy GF gal whose internal clock will take a few days to catch up with the actual time :upsidedow ...

Where did you stay? Did you rent a car?

Forgot to mention in my last post that we did rent a car. When we go to Cal., it's not just to DL. We see other places so a car is necessary!

I am still dreaming about our stay in the DLH! :cloud9: Suck attention to detail in the rooms! Matter of fact, when we walked in and saw just how charming it was, I commented that I wished we could stay an extra night, and DH said, "why not"? So we changed everything and stayed a day later! I loved that you could walk to the parks from the hotel and that there were plenty of good food offerings on the way between the hotel and the parks in DD.

Good morning, Blue! :sunny: here... Are you still covered in the white stuff??
Yes, my "non" DH said he would go with me (within reason, which for him was 4 hours). I chose for him to go on IASW, POTC, Jungle Cruise, and the train. His mind was boggled by the attention to detail that Disney is so well known for! That, coupled with the beautiful DLH room, made him understand why my sis and I keep going back! Not to say I've made a Disney convert of him (he just doesn't have the gene!) but when I mentioned going back in Sept., he said fine! :yay: Not booked yet but look for a new vacation countdown in the future (when I can figure out how to delete the first one...I tried what you suggested, but it's not working :badpc: )

grannyminnie I don't know..sounds like your DH might be a convert after all! :earsboy:.... DL sounds just wonderful...my BFF..and frequent travel buddy was there recently and felt the same as you..she absolutely loved it...and thinks that we should make a trip there in 2016....and since she kinda sorta twisted my arm...lol.. ....I do believe that we will be planning that... So happy to hear that you were enjoying the DL time so much that you got to add another day...:goodvibes..the only thing better than Disney time...is MORE Disney time...:thumbsup2 ..Happy planning for your next trip! Still lots of the white stuff here...let me say how sick I am of winter...:faint: ....lol...

Candy Once again...thanks for sharing your wonderful pics....:goodvibes Love that fountain...and always try to spend a little time just sitting there and absorbing the ambiance of the whole courtyard area... Looking forward to your next picture....::yes:: ..hint hint...
