First time posting here. So much great info, thanks to all. We've been to Disneyland many times but first time to DW! I can book a GF Main Bldg. Deluxe King Room - Club Level, sleeping capacity of 3 (2 adults & 5-year old). I assume these are the "turret rooms"? Have these been renovated yet? I looked at a suite but as suggested, I think it's good to wait until they're renovated.

Thanks for all the replies! Based on your info I've booked our 2 day stay for the end of Apr. and was able to use our Military discount!

That's great!! :thumbsup2

Hi!

Here you go!

We stayed there in Jan 2014 and loved it!!!

Nice Pics Candy!!

Hi Blue and gang! Happy Monday

Thanks for that link Trish ...:goodvibes Lots of good pics on that thread!

And it is time to change my ticker, as I just booked F&W. Going off the grid this time and staying at.....the Dolphin. We've stayed there before, and for the F&W location it is perfect, and for booking at a moderate price, it's perfecter!l lol, Grammer police come smack me.

Tom

:dance3: Enjoy Tom! :drinking1 One questions though..I don't see any ticker....lol...

Does anyone have a concise list of room views of the GF like trishadano posted above? I know touring plans does a pretty good job with the pics of the views but there are lots of gaps for some of the buildings.

Not that I know of....on TP if you click on a section of a building..then hold your cursor over it you can see what rooms are in a particular area...that's about it...Lots of GF repeaters around here so maybe if you have a specific building or view in mind some one will be able to answer your questions..

Arrived today, and I'm pretty sure I got an upgrade, although the CM who checked me in didn't say a word about it. I'm in Boca Chica, lagoon side, and I can very clearly see the MK! I don't think this is garden view.

This is definitely my new favorite resort. It smells so good and the pace on the grounds is so relaxed.

:thumbsup2 Sure sounds like an upgrade to me! That is def not a GV room....Enjoy your stay...sure has started off on the right foot! :wizard:

Welcome to the DIS!:goodvibes What a nice first WDW trip....staying at the GF and in a deluxe room too...:cloud9: The deluxe king rooms are located in two areas of the main building...there are the turret rooms that you posted of..which are located on the 3rd 4th and 5th floors...and can have a courtyard view..or a view towards the front of the GF and along with the monorail...these are the more centrally located deluxe kings...they are spacious rooms with many windows....but do not have a balcony...There are also several located on the 2nd floor..right above Gasparilla Island Grille...these rooms over look the marina area and also have a MK view.... they are standard size but have a jacuzzi tub I think?...but...they are much further from the lounge and CL common areas...I would suggest making a request based on what ever your preference would be..These rooms definitely would accommodate a family of three comfortably..There are also detailed descriptions on page one of this thread... They have all been recently renovated...and are absolutely lovely .... HTH...:goodvibes

Candy Cannot say enough how much I am enjoying your pics.... :surfweb: :lovestruc :cloud9:

:wave2: fellow GF fans...Hope that you are all having a terrific Tuesday...:earsgirl: preppy GF gal....

Duplicate, sorry. Will add that there are 6 turrets and 9 2nd floor style rooms as mentioned above. And, yes the 2nd floor rooms do have a jetted tub where as the turrets have a regular bath with a very large walk in closet.

We leave on Saturday!! Can't wait. One quick question: Is there somewhere at the GF that I can buy a half gallon of milk? We've never stayed in a deluxe before, so I want to make sure I can still buy the milk that we use for our quick breakfasts in the room :).

Yup. At the Sandy Cove. :thumbsup2

Thank you both so much. I'll look at that link when I get home. I'm out of town with my job and left my laptop at home.

So, I have been busy with a kitchen remodel. Dd is away at college and left her gf and WL club level chocolates UNATTENDED in her room. I got a hankering and might have eaten a few. (Thinking of you, Sue M) did anyone ever notice on the back it says astorchocolates.com ??? I checked it out. No disney, but fun holiday and anniversary items etc.

Who knew????

 Lol, and guess who still has some from Aug trip!! Silly girl leaving her chocolates, what was she thinking, lol!! I'm making mine last as long as humanly possible ::yes::

Congrats!!

A question for those who have had short stays in the RPC: do you make dinner reservations, and if so, do you try to squeeze them between the hot appetizers and the desserts in RPC? Thanks!
I agree with BlueSkies. We would have a decent lunch and then just enjoy the lounge at night. We find the Appies and desserts ample. Love getting a window table and enjoying the views while listening to the piano and quartet downstairs.
And personally, I enjoy grazing more then a sit down dinner! Don't forget if you're at the resort in the afternoon, they have an afternoon tea in RPC.

Thank you for the reply, Sue M! That really does sound like a sensible plan. The afternoon tea is very much on my radar. Too bad there are no tea sandwiches, though.

Hello, Sue. Good to see you posting! Love your plan for enjoying the GF: lunch (in the GF Cafe most times) and the lounge at night, listening to the music in the lobby....ahhhhhh.:cloud9:

image.jpg I love that the Grand is just one monorail stop to the Magic Kingdom. Sometimes my husband and I will go to see the performers on Main Street. Then go back by boat to the Grand for lunch.

Good morning!! The snow is melting here today and I have hope!! hehe..

chocolate question...with turn down service to you at least get two? I have two little girls who I am sure will battle over chocolate lol

I am thinking of creating a Disney Florist snack goody surprise for them upon arrival..has any used this service before??

Is there a phone number to make a bounce back reservation while I'm at th VGF this month. I'd like to stay club level in May. What is the percentage off?

Hi! We will be there in October. Last year, we stayed in Big Pine Key. This year I'm thinking of requesting Boca Chica. Can anyone share a view from both a Garden View room and a Lagoon View room? Thanks in advance!!

Thanks for the clarification and additional info Baler :thumbsup2

:dance3: I know that your question was answered...:goodvibes but just wanted to do the single digit dance!

You are very welcome! :goodvibes Safe travels home....

Good morning Blue - you are correct, I was a bit delayed. Work got in the way of my entertainment!

Tom

Don't you just hate when work gets in the way of hanging out here! ;) ..Liking the new ticker! :thumbsup2 and looking forward to hearing all about your trip!

There are usually the same amount of chocolates at turn down as there are people in the room..:thumbsup2 so you will be good! We have used the Disney florist many times and always been happy with what we have ordered...If you are looking for something a little different..something to snack on in the room there are some nice options available through private dining...cakes..cupcakes...chocolate covered strawberries....yum! :mickeybar

Candy Your wonderful pictures just make my day!!! :cloud9: :goodvibes Heading back to the VGF this month..:cheer2: :woohoo: :cheer2: ...Looking forward to reading about your stay...and seeing more pics!!! Here is the BB phone number that is listed on the flyer 407-939-1923..there is also the option to call extension 8844 from a guest room..not sure if its the same for VGF..but I am thinking that it probably is.... the dates for May are the 1st through the 20th ...and the offer is for 35% off Deluxes... BTW..we love that the MK is just one quick monorail stop away from GF too....and those citizens of Main Street are a hoot! One more grand thing about the GF!

Hope that all of my fellow GF fans r having a wonderful Wednesday.... :surfweb: preppy GF gal who just read about sweet potato nuggets now being available in the MK at the Golden Oak Outpost... YUM!! .Its always about the food...lol....

:wave2: Thank you!! Love GF Cafe! I tried the Shrimp & Grits last Aug, yum! Then in January I stayed at ️POR & tried Boatwrights for the first time. They had Shrimp & Grits on new menu, but not as good as GF!!!
