I just checked with my friend who was there in January. She said hers were more flexible and thinner too. Sounds like a good change. Not that I found the old ones uncomfortable. I'm bringing dome of my old ones that I decorated!

1 more sleep! If I can! Flight leaves at 6:00 AM so have to leave for the airport at 3:00. It's 4:58AM and woke up, have to do online check in with airline in an hour, and hope for a first class upgrade offer! So guess I haven't been able to sleep today either! Woke up about 30 min ago.
So sleep tonight may be elusive!! Lol.
When do you leave? Sept is just around the corner!

I KNOW I care more than my kids do!! Yay for you, getting to go back before next summer! We had booked at the WL for our upcoming visit in early Sept. but due to finances, we have moved to Disney Springs. I'm sure we will feel like fish out of water, but booking meals at the GF and spending time there for the music might make up for it a little. We are also doing a tea for the first time ever! I'm excited about that because I love tea shops.

We stayed at The Doubletree in DTD once, when I decided to come in early before Res. And we liked it. Because DTD is walking distance you still feel like you're in Disney.

We didn't get luggage tags, we dont generally book packages (we use military discount tickets/room discounts or TAs) so I knew I wouldn't get them, however I have seen pictures of them on the boards and they do look cute and a sweet souvenir to have! I did get the new (to me) thinner more pliable magic bands, which will be nice since I already have one wearable (Apple Watch) on one hand, the new thinner magic band will go on my other hand with my bracelets.

Wow, nobody in family noticed they were thinner, I'll have to go check. Also, didn't know that everyone didn't get luggage tags, we almost didn't see ours they were in the bottom of box under the MB.

Doesn't really matter, I still have very old ones on my luggage because they are my favorites. Their the ones that have the fireworks behind the castle that move when you tilt them..

We leave the day after Labor Day, and are I like that place! Hubby and I stayed there in April, and he liked it too. I can't put him on Disney property....it's just too much Disney immersion for him!! He is NOT one of us... Thank goodness for my sister, my travel buddy!

We leave the day after Labor Day. And we're staying at the Doubletree, which I really like! I've stayed there more than once, and if I have to be off property, it's not so bad. Besides, we're going to spend the bulk of our time at the GF, so it's good.

Hi gang! So psyched for our trip next week!! We have an outer building/garden view. Question: do all of these rooms have a day bed? Our teen and pre-teen would prefer not to share the Queen bed this year.

Great toilettries at Doubletree! When we stayed they had Crabtree & Evelyn. We got a great deal with a Mousesavers code, room discount & free breakfast! I am signed up for Mousesavers.com newsletter. They send out Hot Deals with extra discounts above what codes they publish on web site.

We love the low Labour Day crowds. This August I had to push up my date because I have to be back at work 8/29

I can't get my husband to go to WDW or Florida for that matter, too hot for him.

Not only non Disney, non Florida. But that's ok, because I love my mom/daughters trips. So excited both daughters can come this trip. Once they get into 20's it's harder to do with different schedules & jobs. Right now I'm the inflexible one, with vacay dependant on school sched. Can't take vacay when school is in session. I'd like vet to go Labour Day and early Sept for the low crowds.

So a good start to our gf stay. Since we are not CL I thought I'd get some wine . At the shop I mentioned I didn't have a cork screw so a gentleman cm gave me one . Then the woman cm asked me if I had a wine glass in my room. When I said no, she opened a cupboard and gave me a crystal wine glass and insisted on wrapping up. It was complimentary too! (I asked how much when she offered)

So when I got to my room and saw my wine and my nice glass I did feel special

Lunch while dd in class . Got a salad with steak with my wine and enjoyed the view while keeping cool. Love the many ways to use that rolling table .

I have been lucky enough to have stayed at almost all the resorts and many cl's too. To compare gf with others here are some thoughts.

Gf is great because ALL rooms have the makeup mirror , robes and good toiletries.

I was so delighted to find they do turndown too!! For newbies, they take your trash, replenish clean cups ,glasses and toiletries. They take and replace your towels.

They also pull the drapes, put on lights, rearrange the pillows and leave chocolates .

I also enjoyed they did turndown in the early evening. Often cl's do it at 4:30pm while I'm in the room.

Can't say how much I enjoy this after coming back at night
