No worries about dining alone, I've done it may times at Narcoossee's -- at the bar -- full menu. It is literally just one huge wide open restaurant so the is part of the same area.

I've been successful about 50% of the time. I usually make a reservation just to be safe. If memory serves me correctly, out of 4 times as a walk up, I've been successful twice.

They are all refurbed. The colors are cranberry reds, silvery-blues, soft golds.

Hi everyone...
My first onsite stay will be at the GF this August. Just my DD13 and myself! Very excited. Got an outer bldg lagoon view on the summer awakens deal.
I got as far as the first and last 10 pages of this thread. I did call and request an upper room with 2 queens and a fireworks view if possible. Not sure if I should ask for a particular building or which I would ask for if I did.

Wow a lot of us are traveling in August, I bet some great summer deals have a lot to do with that!

As far as request I'd request the view you wanted instead of a specific building unless a specific building is very important, that seems like a good way to go that way if your specific view is available in different buildings it gives the room assigner some leeway. I've never stayed at the GF before though, so maybe others have different opinions on requests.

31 days out and I am happy to say I have *finally* decided on a resort lol. Well, mostly because I can't change anymore without a fee, I'm sure I would if I could . So excited about staying at the GF! Really wanted RPC but it wasn't in the cards so SL it is. I'm sure it will be amazing anyway since we've never stayed at GF and never done club at all.

Great! Thank you. I saw two different pictures of rooms (photos attached) and one of them doesn't appeal to me at all and reminds me of my grandmother's house ha ha.

Just back from another amazing stay at the GF. We struck lucky and got the same building Sago Key that we stayed in when we got married. We had the same floor but not the same room. Staff were just amazing, we had ran in the Star wars race and they asked lots about it and admired our medals! Cant wait to go back!

Due to the discounts that came out today I was able to switch to the Grand Floridian for our stay instead of the beach club.

I am booked for a lagoon view. Last time I was at the grand i had a garden view and I was totally happy with that. should I call and switch it back to a garden view?? Lagoon view would just be of sevens seas lagoon right not the theme parks..or do you get lucky sometimes with a lagoon view and get a theme park view in there as well???
