Speaking of renovated rooms...

Here are a couple of pictures of a newly renovated Beach Club club level room that I found on the internet

Thanks for sharing the photos, Dee; everyone has been so curious.

My honest opinion is that it's a very generic-looking decor. It could just as easily be a Hilton or Westin.

Am I missing something, or are there no actual Disney touches left? Also, the finishes are not very practical, considering the high occupancy rates and typical demographic. How long will it take for the area rugs to "walk off" and for the very light-colored upholstery to show soiling?

IMHO, this decor may be fine for other types of properties, but not for this one.

If this is the prototype, I think they missed the mark (and the market).

Obviously, this in no way will keep guests from booking the BC, but it's a shame that the magic is gone.

Hmm. They look nice but a lot less "theme-y". I hope they don't change up the YC rooms too much, I really loved them the way they were.

Thanks for posting the room photos, Dee. I think the room is gorgeous but it does look like it is missing some Disney touches.

Hmmm. They seem to be going the same way as GF with a more contemporary clean line feel. Taking away some (a lot) of Disney touches, like the Mickey Lamps  gone from both resorts :sad2: couldn't they leave the Mickey lamps :confused3.
They are pretty rooms, just less Disney. Thanks for posting Dee!!

I will say, I don't see anything blatantly Disney in the room, and I'd be thrilled if there were just a little touch here or there, but I'm sure we'll find there's something once people actually get into the rooms. Can't wait for more pics!

I agree, let's get a couple of our DISer buddies that are staying in the new renovated rooms a chance to come up with those hidden Mickey's that I'm sure they have in there somewhere. In the meantime, I'll go back and stare at the pictures and just use my imagination.

Good luck to all our Northeast DIS buddies. Hope the turkeys are plucked and ready to go, stuffing is mixed and the pumpkin pies are made. it sounds like mother-nature is going to be playing havoc with your travel plans today and Thursday. Just sit back and let that tryptophan kick in. Be safe out there.

Happy Thanksgiving holidays everyone.

I don't have a photo of it, but there is a framed picture of Mickey and Minnie at the Beach in each of the rooms. Although it doesn't show it in the picture I have, shower curtain has Mikeys on it.

I know we have some friends checking in there soon, so I hope we get more pictures when they get back!

Finally getting a peek at the DIS after what seems like a loooong time away (life got busy:lmao:). I kinda like the new rooms but hope there as still some disney touches around the room to differentiate from other upscale hotels.
Wishing you all a Happy Thanksgiving :goodvibes

Me and my DH will be staying at Yacht Club Nov 11-18 2015! It's our first time staying at any of the Epcot area resorts and we're super excited! We're calling it our "One Last Hurrah" trip since it will probably be our last before we start trying for kids. We want to enjoy all the adult things that we won't be able to for a while after having kids! Ride thrill rides non-stop, stay up late stay and eat at places we won't be able to afford because kids are so expensive, etc. :rotfl:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

My husband and I had a few wonderful trips to the World before the kids joined us.

:thumbsup2

I just got back from the Yacht Club on Saturday. Had a fantastic time, loved the resort! As soon as I figure out how to upload pictures from my IPhone I will add to the room view thread :)

Thanks for letting us know you had a great stay. I appreciate your offer to add pictures to the view thread. I'm not exactly sure how to add pictures from the iPhone, but I'm pretty sure you need to upload the pictures to a site like Photobucket or Flickr and get the link codes for websites.

If anyone has other instructions, please post.

If you prefer you can also email the pix to my yahoo account, beachclubdee.

:goodvibes

Has anyone ever shipped items from the Disney Store website? I was going to follow the instructions from the shipping to your resort thread. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this - good or bad. Thanks!

BUMPING!

Pretty sure if the Disney Store uses UPS or FedEx, the items will be shipped to the convention center and you will need to pay a fee based on weight when you pick it up.

Here is our info from the Other Useful Info Post 14, on Page 1 of this thread:

*************************************************************

Can I ship a package to Beach Club or Yacht Club for my stay?

If you ship a package to the resort, Mail by United States Postal Service*, not anything else!!! If you mail other than USPS, your items will be shipped to the convention center and the shipping department will charge the recipient a handling charge, based on the weight of your package.

In March 2012, the package retrieval fees were:

Up to 5 pounds: $3
5-20 pounds: $5
above 20 pounds: $10

Orders from GardenGrocer or WeGoShop are delivered to Bell Services at YC or BC, so they are not subject to the resort delivery fee, only the delivery fee charged by the company. You can ask Bell Services to deliver the order to your room when you are there.

We spent 2 days at YC beginning of November and will be back Feb 19-26 for PHM and GDS 5th bday. Can't wait, we live the YC and will be our 4th stay in 15 months!

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Very sophisticated!!!

I read that there are more outlets, including USB ports.

:surfweb:

Wow! What a change. Beautiful & really upscale. I love the tile in the bath & the headboards. But what the heck is that on the bedside table??

I was wondering the same thing! I really love the looks of everything else, though. In fact, I'm seriously considering changing my August trip from the Poly to the Beach Club. Decisions, decisions....

Wow... the new rooms look beautiful. I wish we were staying CL.

Are the December resort activity (pool/movie) calendars out yet? If so, how do I find it?

Thanks. ;)

I will give a full report in the rooms next week as long as they give us one.

Thank you so much!!!

I think that is extra storage shelving on the nightstand. It is a bit strange. :)

:welcome: to the thread.

Let us know if you have any questions about the resort.

No, I don't get the activities schedule until the first day or so into December.

From your post to Mother Nature's ears! DS due in at Logan from Fort Benning GA at 10:30 tonight for an unexpected Thanksgiving weekend leave. We haven't seen him in almost 6 months since he left for Basic. Love the pretty snow but...

Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!
