2014/2015 Beach and Yacht Club FAQ, Friends & Fun, Sept 2014-Mayl 2015

Me and my DH will be staying at Yacht Club Nov 11-18 2015! It's our first time staying at any of the Epcot area resorts and we're super excited! We're calling it our "One Last Hurrah" trip since it will probably be our last before we start trying for kids. We want to enjoy all the adult things that we won't be able to for a while after having kids! Ride thrill rides non-stop, stay up late stay and eat at places we won't be able to afford because kids are so expensive, etc.

They make it in our bakery department ... it's behind the kitchen behind Cape May. Then they bring it all out in pieces (gingerbread) and assemble it in the lobby. Takes about 10 hours to assemble. It's so much fun to watch!! I've been told they start baking and working on the horses in the summer.

That would be fun to watch. A shame once Christmas is over you all can't have an eat the carousel party. But I doubt chocolate that sat out that long would be all that appealing

I just got back from the Yacht Club on Saturday. Had a fantastic time, loved the resort! As soon as I figure out how to upload pictures from my IPhone I will add to the room view thread

Has anyone ever shipped items from the Disney Store website? I was going to follow the instructions from the shipping to your resort thread. Just wondering if anyone has had any experience doing this - good or bad. Thanks!

It was about that temperature the day we swam. It got a little chilly as it clouded over more, but while the sun was out we were fine!The kids were having so much fun they didn't even notice! We spent about 3 hours in the pool that day and I had to drag them out lol. You can always go hop in one of the hot tubs if you get cold

I would say so, especially mid day when sun is warmest. And there's always the hot tubs as mentioned!

We spent 2 days at YC beginning of November and will be back Feb 19-26 for PHM and GDS 5th bday. Can't wait, we live the YC and will be our 4th stay in 15 months!

What is the bed configuration of the Standard view CL rooms? One bed or two? If one bed is there a pull out couch?

DS's dad (my ex) may join us for a couple of days on our upcoming trip and we're friendly enough that he could just crash in our room. I didn't originally request any particular kind of room (DS is afraid to sleep alone at hotels so we really only need one bed but will take whatever).

Just wondering if I need to request something.

(I will add him to the ressie once he makes up his mind, didn't know if I should do something in the meantime).

Good question. The club level at the Beach Club has just been renovated and I don't know if any of the bedding configuration has changed. I believe the majority of the rooms in Club Level, Standard View at the Beach Club had 2 Queen Beds. Some, about 1/3 of the rooms in this category, had daybeds.

Two Queens should not be difficult to get, but if you want a daybed as well, my suggestion is to add what you need, along with the reason to your reservation, both through Central Reservations and club level IPO (Itinerary Planning Office).

"Unrelated, opposite sex adults, need 2 Queen Beds" or "Unrelated, opposite sex adults, need 2 Queen Beds and a Daybed, please"

Here are a couple of pictures of a newly renovated Beach Club club level room that I found on the internet













Very sophisticated!!!

I read that there are more outlets, including USB ports.



I don't have a photo of it, but there is a framed picture of Mickey and Minnie at the Beach in each of the rooms. Although it doesn't show it in the picture I have, shower curtain has Mikeys on it.

I know we have some friends checking in there soon, so I hope we get more pictures when they get back!

The decor is quite different. I thought it would be more of a refreshed version of what is already there - somewhat of a casual seaside look. This feels like more of a formal seaside look. Interesting.
