My thoughts (probably not worth a plugged nickel) is that given you are solo, want to spend time at Epcot, probably will want to spend time over at the Boardwalk area, and already find that the Epcot area hotels appeal to what you want to do, either stay with BC or move over to YC. If you stay with BC and find that you are near the construction and it really bothers you (which I don't think it will), do as others have suggested, just go to the front desk, explain the situation, and request to be moved. I really think you can't go wrong with that. If you want to be sitting out on a balcony at night, the YC pretty much guarantees you a full balcony where with the BC you need to request that. Stay with what you got and I don't think you'll go wrong. As I said, just my thoughts.I guess my question is... Should I keep my reservation, or switch it out for another hotel that is not undergoing construction? With the money I'm spending for the stay, I would be very upset if I was disturbed because of noise, etc. This is a solo trip so I want to stay somewhere I can walk to and the Epcot area hotels really appeal to me because I can walk there and to DHS. Any thoughts/suggestions would be wonderful!! Thanks!
Are you in the band that got hit? Originally we got nothing and my brother and several friends were socked with almost 7ft in the first wave just a few minutes awayWe got about a foot yesterday and last night.
My poor brother has a 10 month old at home. He started trying to dig out his driveway Tuesday morning in case of emergency and he just finished a couple hours ago and its still snowing 3 inches and hour! I have lived here my whole life and have never seen the likes of this. Any interested in the magnitude of this "event" should google the Buffalo local newspaper and click the link for the photos from the air....
Are there any worries about roofs collapsing, or are the buildings in the area built to withstand heavy snow? I know around here there are always problems with collapsed roofs when the snow gets more than three feet deep.
Yep, we're in W Seneca, near the Elma/ Orchard Park boarder. Got 5-6 feet Tuesday; 1-2 yesterday & going on another 2-3 feet today. We had a plow pass thro once yesterday, just enough for emergency vehicles if needed. We have shoveled at 2-3 hour spurts 3 or 4 times a day. Fun times.![]()

Hello. Long time reader of the forum, but I just signed up so that I could post. Greeting from the Bay Area in California!!
I'm an annual pass holder for Disneyland (I go a few times a year) but this January (end of Jan into first week of Feb) will be my first time going to the FL parks. And let me tell you, I'm soooo excited!! I booked an 8 night stay at BC but I'm still far enough out of my reservation that I can rebook somewhere else and cancel BC without losing any money.
I guess my question is... Should I keep my reservation, or switch it out for another hotel that is not undergoing construction? With the money I'm spending for the stay, I would be very upset if I was disturbed because of noise, etc.
This is a solo trip (ya, all of my friends think I'm crazy) so I want to stay somewhere I can walk to and the Epcot area hotels really appeal to me because I can walk there and to DHS.

Thanks!
Can someone tell me about the Christmas decorations at YC and BC? We were there for Christmas many years ago and I seem to recall chocolate carousel. Also, when are the decorations usually taken down?
I would never have thought to look at page 1.Start here (Page 1, Post 1)![]()
Train set in YC. Gingerbread chocolate carousel in the BC. Train set is up. Carousel comes Tuesday. Holiday decorations either Monday night while you sleep or Tuesday night while you sleep.
Taken down the first week of January usually. Since Y&B is done so late this year (they lost the lottery draw), then Y&B decorations should be taken down last.
