Thanks so much - sorry I missed that!

When I mentioned DH and I sleep late, I mean we can sleep as late as 10:00/10:30 and not roll out of the room until 11:00/11:30 which is well into the construction time sent on the letter they sent me. So if anyone is around at BC in the next couple of months around that time of day and could report back on noise that would be great!!!!

Man oh Man would I love to be able to sleep that late!! I think if I ever slept past 6:00, my husband would make sure I was still breathing!!!!

LOVE your dogs names :love::love:

How many of you use a car service that comes with a grocery stop? We usually order from Garden Grocer, but I was thinking maybe this time we could get some breakfast items, water etc. (read Good Wine) rather than ordering what is avail online. BUT, I'm a routine type person so just thinking about not taking the ME bus makes me sweat.......Any tips?
I use WeGoShop.com. They will pick up an order from anywhere for you.

My girls sleep until 11am (we make them get up by then), so noise is a concern for us as well. We will be at BC in a little more than two weeks, so I will try to update you on our experience. I did put in a request for a quiet location away from construction and service elevators and not too close to the CL lounge. You could put in a similar request and hope it is honored. I guess I will find out soon if I will get what I want:)

My reply is included with your quote for some reason!!

Dee - you are a super woman!

Thinking of you and your dad. I know how difficult it can be when things change with our parents.

Dee - Ditto. Well said Robyn!

So, Robyn DS19 just came home with the rest of his things he accumulated over 2 semesters.... We just scratched the surface on Saturday helping him move things out. You know the drill. Where does all of that stuff come from??!!

3 days until family BC Disney trip and 3 1/2 months until our BC Disney meet!!

YAY!! So happy I could spread the joy! :disrocks:
Not only did is save over $200 from the RO discount I had, now I can relax and stop checking 3 x's a day!! I spoke to my TA on the phone and she said that its been the worst 2 weeks she's ever had, and that Disney must be trying to respond to the bad roll-out of this promotion. What a mess!! She was online super early the day it came out just based on the rumors and most of the rooms were already unavailable, or limited to upgraded views. I was pretty frustrated for a while there and wish it wasn't such a rollercoaster with the rooms available and pricing.....but happy now its all settled.

The funniest thing was when Fs came home after his senior year and I couldn't figure out why he had s ping pong table. Of course he told me it was s beer pong table and he had s shirt that said beer pong champ! Thank goodness he graduated magma gum laude or I would have really beEn mad! Of course he didn't have half the stuff we bought for his form room but he had that table!

Have a wonderful family trip. Can't wait til we meet up again!

 Hi Everyone!!!

Remember me???

Been busy with work, volunteer stuff at the middle school, my dad (going well, but lots to do at his house and getting him to appointments) and DISNEY planning. I spend most of Mother's Day booking fast passes for our group and then reviewing the work to make sure everyone was all set- found a few mistakes with the groups. Then booked more FP Monday and Tuesday morning. Today I made the listing of the passes for the 13 groups. I have been working on information about Park Hours, Show Times, Counter Service restaurants and more. Fun, but time consuming!

I also have had meetings or other events every night for the past few weeks.

I don't think I have gotten this behind on the thread unless I've been on vacation! I will gradually try to work my way out of a deep hole.

Thank you so much to everyone for keeping up with answering questions.

:goodvibes:

Dee :confused3 Dee who???

OK, for anyone still on the fence about that creepy clown at BW...here's proof that it actually EATS children! :rotfl2:
Too funny!

Tomorrow at this time I will be checked in to the Beach Club for a trip I wasn't sure would ever happen. I just finished 6 months of chemotherapy and scheduled this trip in January as a finish line goal to get through the treatments. I am going with my 23 yo daughter, 2 sisters and 2 friends. The week after I return I will be having mastectomy. Chemo was hard. Much harder than I anticipated, but having this trip scheduled gave me something fun to focus on when things got tough. I can't believe it is finally here! It's going to be good to get away from all this cancer stuff for a few days and just relax and have fun.

jb :sunny:
Congrats on getting thru Chemo! Enjoy a well earned vacay! There's a few of us here that's been thru breast cancer :grouphug:

Ugh....first bummer of our trip...and we haven't even arrived yet!! The magic kingdom park hour scheduler cast member dude or dudette decided to open up at 8:00 am on my daughters bday when for the last 160 days it had been 9am. So much for early entry and crystal palace breakfast. The one thing my daughter wanted was to run around the hub and main st to take pictures before it got crazy with peeps. Oh well!!! It's not really that empty anyways...plus we just saved $200 by not doing the character meal!

I just returned from my first stay at the Yacht Club and I think we may have found our Disney home.

That is fantastic to hear!!!

Not sure if you have posted here before, so just in case...

:welcome:

I'm back at work this morning after an awesome 4 nights at BC. We got a check-in pixie dust upgrade from a standard view room to a CL suite (1501)!! The room location was great; it was right next to the "secret entrance," and close to Epcot. I was hoping for a refurbished room, but I'd definitely rather have the suite.

Awesome upgrade!!!

:woohoo:

Sat down last night in front of the hubby armed with my notes, and suggested park days and crowd estimates for our trip. Dining day is in 7 days (gasp!) and I wanted to at least get our planned park days set in stone so I could make ADRs.
Needless to say, we didn't get much accomplished. We somehow both ended up with our tablets out looking up menus.

However, I did realize how EASY it is going to be to be able to plan more than one WS dinner this time since we have the ability to just pop over there via boat and parkhoppers in the evening! Yahoooo!!!:sail:

This trip is going to have to be a much more laid back one as I may be recovering from a heart procedure.
But thats okay, we can do relaxed :D

Just wanted to say good luck with your heart procedure. Let us know when that is happening if you want us to send along some pixie dust.

:tink:

Sorry if this is answered here in this thread - I read back several pages and reviewed the first post and don't see anybody talking about refurbishments actually starting on BCV?

Has anybody seen evidence of this starting - everything I read says this should have started in March but I haven't seen anyone mentioning it. We are traveling in late October and although it will not be done by then was hoping at least a few floors would be done and some refurbished rooms would be available?

Thanks!

:welcome:

No confirmation yet that work has started on the villas. I'm guessing June, but I'm not sure. Keep checking this thread, particularly the first post on the first page. We will post info as soon as we know!

:)

We did it!!! Changed our dates. We will now be at Yacht Club 21 August - 2 September 2016. Hopefully we will have some nice quiet days at the start of September!

I'll make the adjustment!

:banana::banana::banana:

It's official, I just booked a magical 4 night stay at the BC from 9/4-9/8/15!

This will be our first stay at BC! Last year we stayed at YC for the first time and had an amazing trip. I am so excited, September couldn't come soon enough!! :yay:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

:cool1:

Can adults go down the slide at Stormalong Bay? It looks really neat!

:welcome:

Let us know when your trip is if you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list.

You bet!!!

Here's a couple of posts from my trip reports

:cool2:

Anyone stay in a refurbished room at BC and can share photos?
Hoping we get a refurbished room for our stay :yay:

:welcome:

When is your trip?

:goodvibes:

Quick question for the Christmas trip I'm planning. All of the videos and images I've seen of YC seem to have people dressed pretty nicely. No one's wearing disney shirts, there's lots of men and women in polos and nice capris, even the families walking back from Epcot seem to have people dressed pretty nicely. Will my family be out of place here wearing Disney shirts and things like adidas shorts and more sporty-like attire? We usually stay at Saratoga and don't feel out of place but we want to try YC at Christmas and now I worry we might feel too dressed down and will stick out in a not good way.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for December.

You will have no problem with a dress code. Disney is a vacation location. Yacht Club is a Disney resort. Vacation attire is perfectly acceptable and Disney shirts especially welcomed!!!

:earsgirl::earsboy:

Ive searched but could not find the answer.

We will be visiting this summer with my family and sisters family and will have 2 infants (9 and 5 months). Are we allowed to use any sort of infant floaty in Stormalong Bay?
We have stayed at BC/YC a few times but this is the first time with a baby or young child that can not swim well. I just don't remember if this type of stuff was allowed. I know they have the life jackets but Im not sure those would really fit just yet.

Thanks!

I believe I responded to your questions about floaties in SAB. Here is the info we have on page 1. (Post 2 and the FAQ post, I believe)

Outside floats are not permitted for adults in SAB. Pool noodles, either from home or purchased at the Beach Club Marketplace for around $4 each, may be used in SAB. Young children may use floats that surround their body if an adult is within arm's reach. These rules are subject to change and may be affected by crowd conditions.

Child and adult life jackets are permitted in the pool and are available at no charge poolside at SAB. If SAB runs out of adult life jackets or doesn't have them for some reason, the marina can provide life jackets for use at SAB at no charge.

Single and Double tubes for the lazy river and pool are now available in the water up for grabs without a rental fee.

For everyone's safetey and enjoyment, diaper-age children are required to wear swim diapers or rubber pants when using any pool at WDW. Swim diapers available for purchase at the Beach Club Marketplace.

:fish:

I'm pushing back our BC trip from dec to March 25-30, 2016 (tentatively). DH was nervous about trying to get off work, plus spring was our original plan. AND, we'll be more likely to have warm SAB days! It's just hard when I can't look at 2016 prices. :surfweb:

Good to see you again Dee :). You're like a whirlwind - in and caught up with everyone in seconds :worship:. I'm in awe :worship:
I can barely keep up and I don't even post that much! Slight side note 2 more weeks for us until we are back at our home away from home :D

Excited to say I just made our reservations for November/December trip to YC! This will be our 4th trip to YC and am already so excited for our next stay there. I'm a little worried about the construction though. Add me to the list. We'll be there 11/27-12/5!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Awesome!!! Thanks for sharing this post.

May I put this link in the Trip Report/Review section of this FAQ thread?

:thumbsup2

We are sitting on the Magical Express now, and I am literally crying tears of joy! It sounds so stupid, but when we got to the Magical Express check in and I "put Mickey to Mickey" on those fancy new DME MagicBand readers, it worked!!!!!!!!! It turned green and we went in, just like that!!! On the first try!!! After our horrible trip last year, I've had so much anxiety about this. I'm finally in the magical mood and can't wait to get to the Yacht Club soon. Our flight was on time, we had an empty seat next to us, we arrived on time, and our Magicbands WORKED!!! This trip is just DH and me to celebrate our 10th anniversary and to relive our Disneymoon, so I'm so excited. However, I'm also finally feeling like we may be ready to try another family Disney trip someday (even though we said NEVER again last year). Maybe a BB offer is in our future???

Great start!

:goodvibes:

oh Sarah, that's just awful. I'm sorry for your loss. May you find comfort and joy in your trip to Disney, and my your DS also find that something special that helps them grieve.

Like others have said, just keep looking. I'm not sure how anyone plans the last minute trips and finds deals either - keep looking!

:welcome: and thanks for your words of sympathy for Sarah.

::yes::

Hi everyone! Stepping out from lurking to ask a couple questions :)

After looking at pictures of the BC it looks like the 5th floor has all full balconies - is this true? Does Hurricane Hannah's still serve kids meals in a pail or can you buy beach toys in the gift shop? I would love to avoid having to pack these items.

Love this thread and appreciate all the great information!

Thanks

:welcome:

Do you have a trip booked or are you in the planning stages?

:cool2:

Good to see you again Dee :). You're like a whirlwind - in and caught up with everyone in seconds :worship:. I'm in awe :worship:

Working on it...

Although I think I need to move on now. Next few days are very busy...

Today I take my dad to his doctors appointment and this evening Ben has his last band concert.

Tomorrow we have a band field trip to Six Flags Amusement Park. Bus leaves the school at 6:30 am and we will be back around 8:30 pm :scared1:
In a related note- the middle school has the coolest field trips/class trip! 7th grade class trip is Canobie Lake Amusement Park, Band Trip is Six Flags (Trills and Thrills) and of course our 8th grade goes to DISNEY!!! I'm going to miss this school.

Saturday we have Mark's niece's graduation and then I am running a trivia fundraiser for the middle school.

:car:

We have stayed YC the last two trips and really like it. This upcoming trip in late October we booked a BC water view room because YC didn't have a room available with the free dining. A water view room is now available at YC for the same/time price as BC. Only concern is if we stay at BC we'll get a renovated room whereas YC will just be starting renovations. Anyone have any thoughts on how much "nicer" the renovated rooms are at BC compared to the non-renovated rooms as YC? We really like having a full balcony at YC so that is a consideration.

Thanks in advance.
