:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1. BC or YC?

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Being so close to EPCOT and HS are my favorite things about the resort! But there are may other reasons, too.

:cool1:
Oops! We're reserved at Beach Club:)

I posted this in the Theme Parks Community board but thought I'd try here, too, since we'll be staying at the Yacht Club Resort.

I have reserved an IllumiNations fireworks cruise for Sunday, August 16 at 8:15 PM. We are a family of three, two adults plus DS(12). We are looking for up to seven others to share the cruise. Let me know if you are interested!

We are now 10 days away from our first Yacht Club stay...getting very excited to experience walking to Epcot for dinners and SAB. The last two years we have stayed at Wilderness Lodge and while I am sure I will miss that, there is so much to look forward to about being at Yacht Club. Magic Bands arrived yesterday.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this thread. It has been fun to catch up on posts every night in anticipation of our trip. Once I know more I will try to be as helpful as so many of you are.

Our last trip was at Wilderness Lodge CL, and our next visit will be at Yacht Club WV room (probably CL). Please let me know your thoughts and comparisons between the 2 resorts. If possible post pictures of your room and room number at Yacht Club please.

Hello Disnmooner2013. You probably want to check out the first page of this thread and the link to the pictures of the various YC rooms that you can view at your leisure. Hope you have a great time.

In addition to the Yacht Club View Thread Katesdad mentions (in the Resort Photos Subforum or you can find links on Page 1 of this thread), there is a section on Page 1 of this thread, Post 16 with reviews and trip reports. One section has comparisons by guests of the Yacht and Beach to other resorts. Here are a couple of links from there that may be what you are looking for.

If others would like to post their thoughts and comparisons of Disney resorts they have been to I'll be glad to add it there.

My love of my B&C Milkshake inspired me to send an email to guest communications. I recieved a follow up phone call asking questions that I politely answered. If anyone else feels the same I gladly give you the email address to send your correspondense. .

Ok. Bring back the Milkshake campaign over. (For now)

Did this too MickeyT

So happy to be back on this board! Booked our return stay, Beach Club this time, instead of YC, August 22-28. Our last stay was 2013. Now I am debating upgrading to Club Level, never tried that.

:welcome: back!!!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Good luck with your decision about CL. We like it because it offers a quick, but filling convenient breakfast that gets us to the parks by EMH rope drop.

:woohoo:

Now that I finally caught up on this thread I started going back to the previously closed thread. I do enjoy th posts, pictures and humor. Was looking at photos posted by DawnMaree, noticed that they were from the timeframe when we were there last summer. Given the fact that DD spent about at least 6-7 hoirs everyday at SAB, I looked closely at those. Sure enough, there was DD playing volleyball.

That's funny!

Robyn (Disneymomx7) saw herself in some pictures that were posted here, too.

:)

Alright Disney. You win. Feel free to remove the "maybe" tag for me on the guest list @natebenma

After the credit from Disney and watching 7 in 7 with the new rooms. I just have to splurge and do BC. I have penciled it in as my annual fall race trip resort! I will just have to save money for it by staying cheaper for my winter/spring trips.

Here is to hoping for good weather in early November so I can take advantage of SAB! In 2013 for wine and dine weekend it was a little too chilly!

Disney always wins!!!

Here's an official :welcome: Kool-Aid cocktail. :drinking1

Love these pics :) so much attention to detail

Hi! I can't remember if you have posted here before, so :welcome:

Do you have an upcoming stay?

:goodvibes:

Last time we were at WDW we stayed at BWV. DH is not "Disneyfied" but that nearly did it...he loved it. He wants to try BCV for or Christmas trip this year, however I know he will be disappointed if he doesn't have a view of the BW or Epcot...we are renting a studio. Does anyone know of a BCV room with a view of Epcot or Boardwalk? Thanks in advance...so excited to see it at Christmas!! Dream Trip!!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:cool1:

As others have stated, the views from the BCV rooms are not considered spectacular- there are views of the BC resort, the quiet pools, looking toward EPCOT (woods, mostly), the canal and I think the access road. Not sure if I am missing some of the other possible views.

:)

Is this a studio, 1BR, 2BR? I so badly want a view of Spaceship Earth!! :) so jealous! :) :tink:

This room is not at BVC, it is a Beach Club resort room.

:thumbsup2

Thank you Natebenma!! We are actually checking in July 30 and out Aug 2 so probably July. The last surprise trip was 2 years ago for oldest DDs completion of middle school and to see our cousin during her CP. We stayed at the Poly the last trip and we loved it. We are trying to work our way through all the resorts!

Got it!!!

I'll put you on the Be Our Guest list.

:cheer2:

Hi guys! I'm a complete newbie here but we've decided to change from the Wilderness Lodge to the BC for our upcoming September vacation. I'm mostly excited to have the convenience of Epcot and HS so close.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

I love the easy access to EPCOT!!! You can pop in a quick lunch or a nice dinner or end the night with Illuminations and you are back in your room before 9:30!

::yes::

My daughter had a take out milkshake from B&C 3 weeks ago. (Not sit down--from the walk-up line.) New policy?

Thanks for sharing that! Not sure it is a new policy (hope so), but it could just be a matter of a CM being flexible if it is not too busy at the window. Or a situation like the Sunken Treasure, the discontinued drink that bartenders at BC/YC/HH will still make upon request if they can.

:thumbsup2

Darn, darn, darn, darn… Was the room in good condition? We are going in July, and I snagged a discount for a deluxe CL room with the summer rates yesterday. This is our only option for staying CL with a family of 5 for anything other than a standard view. We hadn't stayed BC since '12 because our room/the hallways were in such poor condition when we stayed there, but the refurb was done so well that BC got pulled back into our rotation when we tried out a new CL room for a night in December. I know there are only 6 of these rooms: I'm assuming the 4th floor has been done (which would be 2 rooms), and hopefully the 3rd floor will be done by July (which would be another 2 rooms)? At that point, maybe only the 1st and 2nd floors (1 room on each floor) might still be in the process of being redone, giving us a 4 in 6 chance of getting a refurbed room? Does anyone have any sort of timetable as to where construction will be by July?

Or should I just stay SV?

We don't.

As far as I know, the crews are still working on rooms on the 3rd floor, but I don't know how far along they are. I think a lot of the rooms will be done by early July, like you suggest, the 3rd floor should be done by then.

:)

Does anyone know how late HH's serves food till?

Great question!

:thumbsup2

I've seen them close everything up at HH around 8pm. That is when they close the refill station and I would assume the food, too.

Do you (or anyone) know if the closing time varies with the time of year or pool hours, or is pretty set at 8? And, hmmmm, does the bar keep the same hours or stay open later? HockeyMomR and I had Sunken Treasures at the bar in August after Illuminations so we were still there until at least 10:30 or so, but I don't know if they were still serving food at that time.

:goodvibes

The bar was still open even though they had closed the refill station. There is a door that rolls down over it, almost like a garage door. I'll see if I can find out what time they stop serving food and what time the bar closes when we are there in three weeks. :)

Well we're thinking of a quick stay at the BC in July. :yay:Does anyone know where I can get FL discounts info. For rates??

Hello,
I've been a lurker for years, but finally decided to write my first post!
My husband is taking me on this trip to celebrate my 50th birthday! We are staying at POFQ May 2-5 and YC May 6-9. Please add us to the BOG list! :)
This is our first time for a split stay and the first time we will be back in Disney without our 3 daughters, since our honeymoon 27 years ago. I am so excited! :tigger:
Our last trip was for our daughter's hs graduation, 2 years ago. We have stayed off site 3 other times. Haven't stayed on site since Nov 2001 (CR) with our then 5 year old and 2 year old daughters. I just couldn't get into that stay, so soon after 9/11. However our oldest daughter became an official Disney princess that trip (if only in her mind)! princess: Our middle daughter is already planning her hs graduation trip- 3 years ahead of time- and wants to run a Disney marathon as part of that celebration. We're definitely hooked on the magic in this house!

:thanks: for all the information on this board! It is very helpful! Here's hoping for a room near the step-saving "secret entrance"!

"!
Ohhhh how this board loves to bring out lurkers. And someone that chose us for their first post since 2009!

But we need more info.
How in the world did you come up with the username
:ewok: purplepanda 19438:ewok:? You do know I consider this incredibly AWESOME!

Welcome purplepanda 19438!

Welcome purplepanda 19438!

Lol! Yes, you guys inspired me! "Purple" is my oldest daughter's favorite color. "Panda" because my middle and youngest daughters were adopted from China. :-)

So now that I've got all of our fastpasses, it seems more real :D, but will you add us to the guest list? There are 8 of us (DIL, MIL, BIL, BIL's GF, DH, DD6, DD2, and me) coming down to BCV May 24 - 31. We're visiting the dark side for 2 days first, so I get my Harry Potter fix before Disney, and I can't wait!

Still working out ADRs - the ILs told me this week they'd like a date night while we're there, and Tutto Italia is all booked up, so we'll see what opens up!

Can't wait to come back for our 2nd visit to BCV and Stormalong Bay!
