2013 Madeira Port Schedule Out!

Now where to go. We did a r/t Hawaii on Radiance in 07 it blows the Wonder's cruise away. We did the canal last Jan and it was awesome not a fan of the MR. I just finished my scrapbook on that. Husband is from Croatia so as much as I want to do a TA it is hard not to go and see them and not fair to hubby. So where to go?

Did you take kids on your Hawaii trip? If you did, was it a good trip for small children?

Just got an email from my TA asking what my preferences would be since the itineraries will be out very soon. She didn't give any specific details though.

Yep, they will try to overprice them but then I'm going to bet that they are going to have to offer some last minute discounts just like they did for the baltics. My parents got a great deal $1600 each on the 2nd baltics cruise and they were only 3/4 full. If DCL would overprice themselves it would be alot easier to sell rooms.

I think you mean wouldn't over price themselves. $1600 was a very good price for the Baltic cruise. However, the $3469 (or was it $3649?) starting price was outrageous, in my opinion. I would've considered a DCL Baltic cruise for my daughters and me - had the prices been lower when first available. By the time DCL lowered their prices on the first two Baltic cruises, we had long since booked a Princess British Isles cruise.

If the prices are high for the longer med cruises when they come out and you book anyway, will your price be reduced as time goes by and the boat is only partially full - do they bring your price down as well? Or do you need to rebook to get a lower price? Can your TA do this automatically without you losing your room?

DCL will not automatically adjust your price. If you or your travel agent notice a lower price, you have to request a price adjustment. If it's after the penalty date (75 days before sailing) - you would have to cancel and rebook, and you would lose your original deposit at the minimum.

Thank you - so it's worth booking early as long as your TA checks the prices periodically.

Wouldn't we have heard something by now if they were opening it up on Sunday?

Nope. Disney notoriously likes to make people wait. The Galvaston schedule I believe was only released a few days after the announcement. I think they'll announce Sunday and start booking early next week

Hello!

I have seen many reports on when we might hear what Disney Cruise Line is planning for the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic for 2013 (and the end of 2012 for the Wonder). I have some preliminary information for you. I do have additional information but I am working hard to verify the information received before I send it to you.

Here is what we are predicting. We anticipate that we will get an announcement early to midweek next week with reservations opening by the end of the week to gold and platinum members. We expect silver member and new cruiser reservations to begin shortly after that.

We expect that there will be a Panama Canal cruise on December 9, 2012 going up the Western Caribbean rather than the Eastern side as they have done before. This cruise is likely going to end in Miami. After this sailing, we expect either alternating 7 night Caribbean sailings or shorter sailings of 4 and 5 nights going to the Western Caribbean and the Bahamas. We believe the Wonder will then go back through the Panama Canal to Los Angeles, then continue up to Vancouver for Alaskan cruises. We are not sure if the ship will home port in Vancouver or Seattle however. We also believe we will see a Hawaiian sailing either from Vancouver or Los Angeles after the Alaska sailings and another trip through the Panama Canal after that.

For the Disney Magic, we expect a repeat of the Galveston schedule for the first part of the year, followed by a Transatlantic sailing from Galveston on or about May 18, 2013. We expect to see a variety of itineraries in the Mediterranean with a home port of Barcelona or Civitavecchia (or both!). Expect to see similar sailings to what we have seen before plus a few longer 12 night sailings to include Eastern Mediterranean ports such as Venice, Turkey, Croatia, the Greek Isles. Based on the port schedules we have seen, we expect these longer sailings will take place in July. We also expect a Transatlantic back on or about October 12, 2013.

Hmmmm, so the WBTA 2013 will return to Galveston, I wonder?

Got a TA email today - no info but asking me to confirm what I want as they expect to hear "very soon"

I would love to do the transatlantic again. But I would also love to do a Greek isles back to back with the transatlantic.

There is a google alert with an anouncement from Miami on Wednsday! I become a gold on Thursday am!

Well, if this is true, we will not be able to do another WBTA, unfortunately, as my kids school break is in September, not October. We have another break in December and could do the 12/9/12 PC, but I think it will be very expensive. Maybe the other PC will be in June, which we could also do...

If the Wonder and the Magic and the Dream and the Fantasy will all be doing the Carribbean from December2010 to May 2013, I would HOPE there would be some good deals on Disney cruises, especially since that is during the traditional school year.

Don't count on a June Panama Canal cruise if the ship is repositioning to the west coast for Alaska cruises. The first Alaska cruise will probably be in May, so a PC cruise would most likely depart in April, followed by an LA-Vancouver cruise.

It has been mentioned that the Magic will undergo a major dry dock in Europe. If that is correct, there probably won't be a cruise just before the Transatlantic, unless it's a repo from Venice to Barcelona.

LOL! Thanks, I actually just got off the Disney website and figured that out - looks like they start going to Alaska in mid-late May...

BUT, if the do a Hawaii cruise and another PC cruise after the Alaska cruises, at least one of those should be in mid to late september 2013, which is when my kids are out of school. I mean, right now they are just going up and down the west coast during most of September, and based on the prices of those cruises, I don't think they are that popular. I bet they would do Vancouver to Hawaii, Hawaii to LA (with Ensenda thrown in to get around the law), then LA to Port Canaveral or Miami...

This I might be able to do. Our district's Fall break starts October 1st. He'd miss one week of school. Not sure if I will do it but if it's an option I might.

DCL can't sail from Hawaii to LA - even with Ensenada thrown in. They would have to end a one-way cruise in Ensenada.

I posted on one of the Hawaii threads that based on the port schedule for Maui - I think DCL is planning b2b one-way Hawaii cruises in September from Vancouver to Honolulu and Honolulu to Vancouver. Then I think they would sail to LA, maybe do some Pacific coast cruises, and eventually a PC cruise.
