*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

I must have gotten mine from a different source. I had a printed schedule and made a call from my car for the advanced reservations

You sound like me!

In 2011, the physical-printed-on-paper-brochure was sent via actual US Mail to Table In Wonderland members. In both 2012 and 2013, Tables in Wonderland emailed me a PDF file with the full color brochure on August 1. At least that was consistent.

There was also an iPhone App in 2011 that was basically an iOS version of the brochure. BTW--the App has never been updated. I still have it on my phone and it is my version of "Calgon, take me away!."

Neither of these contained the deminar schedule.

Yes.

Only the $12-15 seminars. Nothing else is bookable on Friday.

If they do it the way they've been doing it, the only time you give your DVC number is when you book. However, when you pick up the tickets, they ask for ID and I believe they want a picture ID because I've always used a drivers license. So you would have to book anything you book for them in THEIR name. Since they are not DVC members I don't know if you'd be able to do that early. You may be able to book for them as a DVC member only if you intend to accompany them.

You could probably book two tickets in your name and then give the tickets to your parents. But you would likely have to pick the tickets up at the festival center yourself.

The cooking/wine demos we plan to do together so that works out. :)

When I call on Friday I give everyone's names or just say 4 adults?

Does anyone know if they've published a list of the demos yet?

I've been looking, but can't find one anywhere :confused3

I don't think so. I've been stalking disboards and disney food blog, because they start booking for some guests on Friday, the rest of us on tuesday, so...really soon for having NO info. I'm not one of the privileged few booking this week, but I do want a little time to make decisions!

It was THIS late last year? It is less than 48 before you can book these events yet no one has any idea what "these events" are? It is not only frustrating but a reflection of how poorly organized and weak from an IT perspective Disney is at some things. There is absolutely no reason why this couldn't be planned out a few weeks before booking, released to the public and supported by an on-line booking system that "reads" whether you are DVC/PAP/ early booking eligible. Making people call on the phone and sit on endless holds at 7am (or 8am) is simply antiquated and silly.

I'm with you on this! It didn't feel like such a short time last year. I planned, then replanned our events a couple times before calling. I felt like it had been a week, but maybe it was only 5 days.

Thanks! I can book on Friday, but I'm a little stunned that there's nothing out yet.

Thanks Again! :tinker:

I was just on MDE looking around for ADR's & there is an option for "Culinary Demonatrations-2013 Epcot F & W festival". I picked a date & time & the next screen was for payment. It was going to charge my card $28 for 2 people. Just confused, it didn't list what I was reserving, & I didn't submit cause I didn't want to get charged. Any thoughts??

It also looked like I could book PFTS for 10/19@ 7:30 pm. It said I would be charged $307 so I didn't hit submit.

I zipped over there, saw what you described. I think it's Disney's "amazing":rotfl: IT folks trying to load events into the system. Personally, I wouldn't book. It's an obvious big error. I think there's a good chance someone who attempted to book today would end up with a headache, rather than a truly valid reservation that would be honored.

It was there, on the restaurant listings, but I was not able to click through to make a reservation.

Online booking for everything, including the demos, is not supposed to open until August 13. Any booking done August 9-12 was supposed to be by phone only.

It seems to depend on what event you click on. I was able to click through to a price before I went any further. I didn't want to book, I clicked through just to see so I stopped. It was working just like any other regular restaurant reservation until I quit. I hope they fix this soon.

I agree. This is a little crazy. Early booking starts in 2 days yet we have no information on what is available to book. Are we supposed to just guess what the presentations are on certain days or hope for the best? :confused3

I decided that I was going to bite the bullet & book PFTS just to see what happened and I grabbed it about 7 minutes ago & it's hanging in a state of limbo....:rotfl2: It let me select 7:30 pm on the Saturday I wanted to book and took me in to selecting guests

Too bad my TIW lapsed ... I won't be getting another AP until next year, so I'm just crossing my fingers I'll be able to get my one big event I want to do when the cattle call opens up.

As for the wine deminars, it really is ridiculous that Disney doesn't lock these up and publish the schedule earlier. It really gives the impression that this thing is a last minute slapped together "Mickey Mouse" operation.

I am not an AP holder and so no TIW either, I just really hope there will still be the 2 events I want to see available when I try to book!! pixiedust:
