*2013* epcot food & wine festival 9/27-11/11

Anyone finding events they want to participate in are sold out? I'm just curious. Hibachi Experience reservations for November 5 were sold out before it even opened to the general public (August 13). So bummed.

There was an infamous computer glitch on August 13 that made it appear as though some items were sold out before the general public got to book them. In reality, they were not sold out at this point - they were just not loaded onto the system for booking. Many of the phone agents hadn't the slightest idea what was going on, so they were telling callers that the events were sold out.

I know this resulted in my making four separate phone calls throughout the day trying to get what I wanted.

I would not be surprised if the hibachi experiences are entirely sold out by this time, though.

The Disney site does indicate which signature dinners are sold out. All spaces for reserved seating and Wine View Lounge at PFTS are sold out. I think Sweet Seats for 3d Dessert may also be sold out.

it includes some food images/info, the table of content from the cook book, and an image of some of the F&WF merchandise. Included in that is a photo of the wine glass holder trays that I know some people on here have discussed, so looks like they definitely will be offering those for sale if you are interested:

I love the pins! And the bag! And the bobble head :lmao: I'll just buy one of everything!

Do you think the images of all the pins will come up ahead of time? Or will I just have to wait until I get there and be surprised. I can't get a good feel of what they look like from the picture.

If it fits your trip dates, the 10/29 Hibachi might still be open; it hasn't yet been marked as sold out on the website.

Unfortunately, no. Just means we need to try it next year! :thumbsup2

When I called for tickets to last year's PFTS, the new reserved seating was sold out. Had to settle for Wine View. :rolleyes1 Got it this year though! Excited to see how that seating works. We were so tired of the stampede at curtain time!

I quite like the plate thingy though not sure when I would use it lol

Ohh, if the plate holds those little plastic cups, this will be perfect! There are just two of us, but we will order one of everything at a booth, then try to carry it all over to a nice shady flat spot (i.e. top of a trash can) to taste and discuss our likes and dislikes. Wonder how big they are? :scratchin

I like these too. I would love to know the same thing. Anyone know how much they are being sold for?? :goodvibes

Just found this thread today and here goes....3 more weeks until I'm at the Festival and I'm "NOW" going to attempt to read all the posts!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

This should keep me occupied until it's time to go!! :goodvibes

I have seen folks using the plates around the WS and they do hold the wine glasses sold at the kiosks. The plates are used to hold the little food serving trays throughout the WS at F&W. I suppose it does provide a barrier when you can't find a standing table and a trash can is the only available space. :scared: I, personally, wouldn't want to carry them around, but whatever floats your boat. I don't see a use for the plastic plate outside of Disney.

I don't recall the exact cost, but have to admit I thought they were imaginative. :wave2:

I agree, I wouldn't want to carry one around all day. I think those plates are more cute than practical.

Actually, if you are going to be noshing from booth to booth, I'll bet they are quite handy! Otherwise you need one hand for the drink and another for the food tray plus; grabbing cutlery and napkins. With the new Magic Bands and these little cocktail plates, I'll bet it would be a lot more convenient to stroll and sample... Looking forward to someone reporting in on what they thought about them (if they used them, of course!) popcorn::

Yes! The way we sample everything sometimes made it difficult. We've used clipboards in the past to help with keeping track of our passport and holding food. Last year I was in a wheelchair for our trip (long story, but a fun way to see the parks) so I was food and drink transport for us. Always thought about bringing the wine tasting plates from local events, but didn't think those small sample glasses would fit.

Hello , newbie so hope I am posting this correctly

Looking to see if there are any walking tours , like wine tasting or beer between the countries that Disney offers?

Is the Chase lounge only for the Disney Visa card holders or any chase card holder?
How do you get in? Just show your chase card?
This is my first F&W!! We did go to the F&G and it was fun with the very few stations set up so super excited to do this one.
Thanks.

Hello!:welcome: There will be some beer and wine flights available during the festival. No walking tours that I am aware of?:confused3

It is being speculated that it is only for the Disney Visa Chase card holders. They are the ones receiving the email. That's right. Show your Disney Visa card to be admitted. Until someone with another Chase Visa card tries for entry there is no real way of knowing if all Chase Visa cards will be accepted.

in prior years you could get in with any Chase Visa (I think any Chase Card, but definitely any Chase Visa) - but this year they seem more specific to marketing to just Chase Disney Visa. And, for example, the early booking for events opportunity this year (not the AP/TIW/DVC one) was just for Disney Chase Visa

So those things combined are leading people to speculate it will just be for Chase Disney Visa cardholders, but we won't know for sure until it opens and someone tries

I used my chase ink business card last year. I've not seen anything that would lead me to believe this has changed. Disney would of course contact their cardholders about this, it's good for motivating customer retention! Chase has never contacted me about disney lounge benefits, but I still got in and asked specifically before taking out my card. The cm's response was "all chase cardholders can use the lounge.". My husband used his chase united airlines card as well.

I'm a Chase Disney card holder and haven't received any info..?? so who knows, can't wait til the 27th so folks who have been can start pouring in the info!! ;)

I have the chase amazon card and I received an email. I also have the chase disney card. Last month or so, I received a pamphlet in the mail that talked about the lounge and the Halloween party.
