2013 dates

I so don't understand that decision by DCL...unless it is to not overload the website and keep it from crashing.

MJ

Maybe they thought the IT dept. couldn't handle only adding 1 cruise to the website. :rotfl2:

For example, on this most recent case, the October 2012 cruise to Hawaii, Gold and Platinum CC memebers got to use their early booking perk on Friday and booking for the general public (and silver CC) opened on Monday. Sometimes it is only a 24 difference between the two. This particular cruise isn't even going to show up on the DCL website till the 5th so a lot of people don't even know it exists if they don't A) have a travel agent that alerted them; B) hang out on Disney fan sites; C) monitor DCL facebook/tweet posts.

Sometimes the 'warning' only comes a day before the early booking date and there is little time to mull over anything. Which is why a lot of G&P CC people put rooms on hold that might be released in a couple of days.

.

So, if I am understanding this correctly, if it's not on the site yet I can still call to book my cruise? Or use a TA?

I have not read this whole thread, so hopefully not restating anything - but we just booked a couple dummy cruises 10 days ago on the Magic and the agent said that the 2013 itinerary would be coming out "closer to November" this year (yes, that is an exact quote). Of course, who knows if he knows what he is talking about.

Woohoo! October is here!! Should be any time now... The people cruising this month should know. When rumors about the new itineraries for 2012 surfaced, we were on the Wonder that time and the DVC employees and the inboard booking person let us know when the booking opened.

Cindy, you are correct. When the new dates come out, your only option is to book through the phone (either yourself or through a TA) until the dates are added to the website. It would be nice if for once they did add them to the website at the same time time though. You never know...with the rumors of the dates being announced later than normal, they may get them on the website in time.

Thanks! Think I'm all set! :)

I booked my dummy cruise on the Dream last month and was told the same thing- she said the dates would be out near Thanksgiving. Which I found funny, since I had been looking at this thread before we embarked... I almost wanted to say, "No, you are WRONG!! The disboards say it will be OCTOBER!!" LOL

To be honest part of me is hoping for this as it would make it a lot easier for me! October is going to make it hard for me to decide what to do re our cruise at the end of October. Oh well we shall see!

Wondering if they will do a long/special cruise for Christmas 2013 on the Fantasy...think I would like that! :thumbsup2

.

I wonder if they will do the same as they did for the Hawaii cruise and twitter/facebook it.. to give us a heads up something is coming.. they didn't say what, but they did say when.. which was nice.

We have a family reunion cruise booked for next summer on the DREAM.
If the MAGIC goes to the Eastern Med summer 2013, we all want to change our res to that.

Ques: we are platinum. I had made everyones res while on the Dream last year for 10 staterooms. Can I roll over all these res at the same time as mine, or will I only be able to rebook my stateroom and have to rebook theirs later?:confused3

Will we still get the 10% discount for booking onboard if we change the res ?

Changing the res from a 4 nt Bahama cruise to an Eastern Mediterranean cruise will we have to put down a larger deposit ?

Changing the res from a 4 nt Bahama cruise to an Eastern Mediterranean cruise will we have to put down a larger deposit ? Yep. You can rollover the rooms, and then should have 3-5 days to get a deposit down. You'll need to add the additional amount necessary before that time.

Well I guess I will be on another line. I am not going to risk paying more because Disney assumes that "our guests are willing to do whatever we want". They have a lot of competion. My last cruise showed me that the Disney "specialness" had faded with the expansion. So.... disney snoozes, they loose my $$$$

Subbing!

DF and I are taking a cruise for our honeymoon in 2013 and have no desire to cruise in this hemisphere again for awhile :rotfl: I don't want to have to cruise on another line, I'm spoiled by DCL!
