Happy Fathers Day!

Question for you guys: do any of you Smash Book? (Those who don't know what it is will think I'm nuts.). It's essentially scrap booking but with some of the work done for you already. The kids and I made one for DH for Fathers Day, including tons of pics, writings about what they love about their Daddy, etc. And then I thought, what a great way to prep for the trip!

I've taken a bunch of tips from this board (THANK YOU!!), and am starting to build in other stuff as well - F&W, MNSSHP, Touring Plans info, etc. I thought about also adding in must-do rides for each of us, favorite Disney memories, etc. Anything you guys could think of that might be more specific to BC? I'm having a lot of fun with it (maybe too much...?), much more so than the basic planning books or spreadsheets I've put together before.

Does anyone else do this? Or am I just a little too wrapped up in Disney at the moment?

33 days to go!!! It was so hot here yesterday, that I was trying to imagine a Freak Cold Front coming through Disney during our July trip

we usually don't do EMH mornings, but now I am wondering if we should get out there earlier so that we can leave earlier and cool off in the pool?? Although I know that the EMH parks get more crowded.......decisions, decisions.

Just got back from a terrific week in The World, and a lovely stay at BC. Only request we put on our online check-in form was "full balcony," and that's what we got -- lovely 3rd floor room facing the main courtyard entrance on the back/waterfront side.

One piece of advice: if you even think you *might* need to do a load of laundry on your trip, be sure to bring quarters and laundry detergent (I travel with the Purex Laundry Sheets for simplicity and *just in case,* which turned out to be a lifesaver given that DH forget to pack enough socks and underwear). The small laundry room in the main building has no change machine and no detergent in the vending machines, the larger laundry room by the pool was out of detergent, and both gift shops (BC and YC) were out of detergent. I gave away my extra Purex sheet to someone who was frantic about the lack of detergent. Only one dryer was working in the small laundry room. We were there late afternoon, which seems to be prime laundry time; I'd suggest going very early in the day.

And just a friendly reminder to those who visit The World during the summer months -- you do need an outfit plus an entire change of clothes -- EVERYTHING -- for every day. By mid-day you'll be a hot, soggy mess and you really will need a swim, a shower, or both and then a fresh set of clothes for the evening.

That sounds nice! When going from AK to Epcot, do you have to take a bus to AKL first, then hop a bus to Epcot?

One of the reasons we started this plan of going from AK to a park instead of back to the resort was that it seemed like the resort buses took FOREVER during the day, while the park buses run more frequently. And we always liked to walk through Epcot. That was one of the reasons we liked to stay at the BC.

Do they sell these at target? With accessories and such? Love this idea as I am a Horrible picture organizer. Lol

This is a good tip. I brought some detergent pods on our last trip, even though I didn't plan to do laundry. My DH never seems to pack enough "fresh" shirts.

We are huge believers in early EMH!!! You will not believe how much you can do between 8 am and 10:30, before the crowds start to show up. You end up beating the crowds for an early lunch and then when it starts to get really crowded you can get out of dodge!

I totally agree- we rarely take a bus back to the resort. From MK, it is the monorail, of course. From AK, our typical day is AK-Blizzard Beach- Boma-Hollywood Studios and then Beach Club. This time, we will have just a half-day at AK, then hop to HS for lunch at the Sci Fi.

I'm not familiar with Smash Book.

Some Beach Club specific things- Stormalong Bay and the Jib Slide, the Beach Club lobby (Teena), the beach overlooking Boardwalk, Beaches & Cream if you eat there, movies on the beach/campfire if you do that.

Great advice. I keep travel packs of Woolite in my bag. That way, I can do a load in the washer or, if I don't have access to a washer, I can wash our clothes in the sink. We also pack clotheslines that can hook to things like doorknobs and such (velcro loops on the ends). We picked them up for a trip to Costa Rica and they were fantastic.

Yes! I'm pretty sure Michael's has them, too, but we got everything we needed from Target. The book itself is $12.99, spiral-bound and comes with all of the paper and a pen that has a gluestick on one end. (Great to take on the trip to make a book while you're there - can stick things in like MNSSHP tix, receipts, etc. once you're back in your room.) The kids each got one, too, and we're finding they're great for storing all of the little things they create and/or find everyday. Do a search on YouTube for Smash It books and you'll find a ton.

So envious that you'll be there so soon!! I agree with everyone on taking advantage of EMH on hot days. You'll get a ton done in the morning while it's cooler, and by the time it gets too hot, you'll be ready for a break and a cool dip in the pool.
