Ok, I have to say that I am totally using this thread as an escape today! DH is away on business, and I'm juggling Mommy to DS9 and DD7, my usual administrative day (as district mgr for a pharma company), a 2 hour live online training session (in the middle of which I had to make the kids' lunches), and just finished swim lessons. Now off to see my mom (who is having a tough time this weekend as we just lost my Dad), then running to get last minute items for DH's Fathers Day present. All the while checking in on my team to make sure we're all good - must not shirk my managerial responsibilities. :) But when DH is out of town, it's got to be a balancing act!

Now, off to get Slurpees for the kids as reward for a great job in swimming. And one for me, too. :)

So sorry for your loss :grouphug:

To answer an earlier question, as of last summer, pool noodles are allowed.

Does anyone know what’s going on at the Yacht Club between 8/20 and 8/30 (when we are going)? I did a search on rooms during that time frame and there are none available.

I put in a room request (staying standard view club at YC) for a room near the Admiral or Commodore suites hoping to get a room on the water side closer to the lounge. If anyone has a better suggestion, let me know. Would get an official water view but we have 5 in our party.

We are traveling that week too 8/23-8/30. That's funny because I did a quick search myself today only with the special offer and there were no rooms.but I just figured it was just the offer. I know of a deal that week with some of the resorts but I'm surprised that its sold out.

Too everyone with the answers to the flip flops thank you so much for the suggestions I am looking them all up so see which ones I should try out. I am hopping for no blisters on this trip.

I just checked our count down on My Experience. We hit 70days!!!:cool1:

I think I will totally freak when it hits 60 day mark.. I really haven't started my disney pile yet!:scared:

Last trip I wore just regular sandals to the park. I can NOT wear sneakers in the summer. If my feet are hot so is my body. But I want something more comfy than old navy flip flops.

any recommendations???? I ordered croc flip flops. I am soooo not a crocs person. But I trying to avoid blisters

:off topic: I have a pair of Naot sandles that I wear at Disney, super comfy. I also find Clark's to be great. I've also been getting a lot of emails on Ugg sandles & boat type slip ons that are super cute. I live in all of my Uggs (non summer of course) because they feel so good, so thinking these may be good for me.

I read a tip that said spray your feet with with spray anti-perspiration deodorant to prevent blister & reapply if feet get wet. I haven't tried it yet.

Thanks! That would be wonderful if we could use noodles in the water parks!

We will be there the same time, had no idea they are booked up. I have a standard view booked, and asked in my requests to have upper floor near lobby.

Original Teva Mush flip flops are the only thing I'll wear on my feet in WDW. They dry quickly and they are not slippery when wet. Even if we go in December, I wear my Tevas.;)

I have gotten them wet at Hershey Park and like someone else said, they got kind of foamy stuff that squished out:confused3
But that only happened that one time for me. I think any flip flops can be a bit tricky when wet...but maybe that's just me:rotfl2:

I literally wear these everyday rain or shine and have had no problems. I find them plenty supportive...I have other non-flip flop Sanuks and wore them walking 45 miles in San Francisco last year...I just keep buying more b/c I love them!

I also love Reefs which are more structured but also "ridiculously comfortable" which is their tagline. They have a bunch of styles and last forever:thumbsup2

Good luck! Good, cute and comfy shoes are hard to fine...esp for walking Disney!!!

Reefs!! Yes!! Especially the "quilted" ones!

For all you that know Jeanne, wanted to let you know she is in recovery and should be home in about 3 hours. We'll get all the pathology results in about a week or so they said. Thanks for all your prayers and good wishes.

Thoughts and prayers!

Please be sure to say hi!
We are in the lounge most morning for breakfast, usually there for evening appetizers and I have to stop in the lounge on the way back from the parks to get my fill of the homemade chips and dip!

Aren't you going to be at the Dessert Party on July 3 too? Definitely come say hi - Teena will be with us so I know you'll recognize her (our resident celebrity)!

Yes, we'll be at the Dessert party on the 3rd. Very excited about that!! I remember chatting about it when we both booked a few weeks back. Maybe we'll be seated near each other :).
This is a trip for celebrations... both my daughters have summer birthdays that we are celebrating and my oldest has been named a state finalist for National American Miss, Miss Tennessee. Her pageant is two weeks after our trip, so the first few weeks of our summer break have been crazy between planning for Disney and the pageant. I'm a teacher, and for once I haven't even thought about the first day of school (which is unusual for me).
Anyway, back to our trip...hope your last couple of weeks go by quickly. I am loving keeping up with this thread. I just read about all of the festivities at Epcot on the 4th, and I'm so excited to be able to walk right into the park, and then sneak out the back when the droves of people are heading for the front of the park! I'm trying to keep track of all the tips that you, Teena, and our other wonderful posters give. I'm actually checking in two weeks from today. With being off work I'm getting my weekdays mixed up!
See you soon!

Good morning Beach Club friends,

I think the realization of our trip has finally hit me! We will be checking in two weeks from yesterday! Can't wait!:cheer2:
Can't wait to experience SAB and Beaches and Cream. Teena, so excited to meet you as well. I don't post a whole bunch on this thread, but I've enjoyed reading your posts for years. And Robyn, we'll be club level at the same time. I think I will know you from the pics I've seen.

Yay!

I wear nothing but sandals in the parks the ones that work best for me are:
- FitFlops - feet & back don't hurt
- Olukai 'Ohana - super support and very comfy + the name makes me smile.
- Tevas or keens
- Sanuk yoga mat fit flops

Prayers and good wishes for Jeanne, you and the rest of the family.

We are waiting for our turn in the Animation Academy at DHS. Today is really hot so we have been enjoying the shows and we are taking it slow. We have Fast Passes for toy story at 1:30 and then we are headed to SAB. Chairs in the afternoon have been a little hard to find, but not impossible.

Animation academy is one of our new must do's. Its a great cool, dry way to kill time while waiting for TSM FPs. We take a cylinder shipping container to bring them home in. I have them saved for a future scrapbook or framing them for a Disney themed play room. Sounds like your enjoying your trip!

22 more days until we are back in the World!!! 34 until we are back at the Beach Club. We are going on our first cruise before we arrive at the Beach Club. Any advice for that?

We're big time cruisers so feel free to hit me with any questions you might have.

Have you ever tired Sanuk flip flops? They are made out of yoga mats and they are like floating on clouds. So much better than croc flips. I have them in probably five colors, basically live in them! And I never got blisters from them.
