Our 17 hour drive was pretty uneventful- minimal construction and no accidents. We made it to our DTD hotel- nice but does not compare to BC. I can't wait to get there tomorrow am. We swam and then headed to DTD for dinner. Grabbed a sandwich at Earl of Sandwich- they were delish. We walked around a bit then headed back to our hotel. Now I lay me down to sleep and dream BC dreams!

Private party tonight on the beach at the Beach Club!!! Minnie, Mickey, pirates and fireworks! I'll try to post pictures later, but amazing and I don't want to know the price of this party! But thanks for the wonderful fireworks from our room!

Pirates? Was Capt. Jack a part of it? Please tell me no because I tried to book him on the beach a couple of years ago and they said he couldn't be "outdoors".

What, no mooing at Walmart?!?!?! All those people missed out on the extraordinary Ninja Mom cow impersonation!

Oops, I forgot to Moo! This is the sort of thing that I would do if one of us was in a different part of the store and we needed to get back together. Not too many people moo so my kids would know for sure that it was their Mom calling them. :thumbsup2 When they were in elementary school we would stay after school to play in the park. When it was time to go home I would give my Tarzan yell and they would come out of the woods and head for the car. All the other mom's were jealous because my kids would come right away. They used to joke that it was the power of the Tarzan yell but I never had the heart to tell them that my kids knew if they didn't come right away they would get left behind for sure! I actually would get asked to call other people's kids for them....

Buzzy has wandered off for now but if he returns I shall be sure to tell him of your arrival. Ninja Mom believes in sharing and Buzzy is definitely the kind of "friend" who needs to spend more time with other people and not just Ninja Mom (hint hint Buzz!!!!1!!111!!!!!)

That's probably because he would go around and try to finish every one's drinks. I heard a rumor that he was banned from the YC/BC laundry rooms after an unfortunate incident with a Sunkin Treasure and a ride in a dryer....

NM you always make me laugh. I wish we were going to BC at the same time ao that we could meet. I would eve be willing to wear all black and skulk in the bushes.:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I hate when that happens! Didn't that happen to Buzzy, too? :-)

Hope your stay is wonderful. We are one week behind you. Spent the day RAIN FREE at Kennywood today!;):thumbsup2. Glad you made it safe!

No, Vodka.

I'm out of vodka too. Wish I could book a cruise but Mr. Catho72 might notice that I'm gone for longer than the 15 minutes it takes to get to Costco (my regular liquor store).

Speaking of Costco and liquor.....has anyone else gotten sweeped up in the phenomenon known at Rumchata? Yum! They should sell Rumchata shots in Mexico at Epcot. Or a Rumchata slushie! :drink:

Drove home today from work through the tropical storm. I was at my other plant which usually takes me about 2 1/2 hours. It took 3 hours 15 minutes. Driving was terrible. All I could think of was "hope this isn't messing up travel plans for my DIS friends.

Popping in to catch up for my YC/BC fix!

Yikes for the weather messing with your commute! :scared:

I love Kennywood- many fond childhood memories there. Last year my oldest and I went with his altar server group. We had a blast and he is begging to go back. I live in Erie now, so we make the trip to the 'burgh quite often.

We have arrived at our Downtown Disney Hotel for the night. We will check into the YC tomorrow morning. We enjoyed dinner at the House of Blues and then did some shopping at Basin and World of Disney.

This trip was a complete surprise for our daughters (ages 14 and 9). They thought we were going to the Keys after 1 night at DTD. As we drove through the Disney sign, we let them in on the surprise. They screamed, cried, and thanked us over and over. It was great!

Thanks to this board for all of the great tips and advice. I will check in as the week continues. We will be at the YC until June 15.

Great story! Have fun

Hope everyone's vacations are on schedule and filled with pixie dust!!!!!!!!

That is a long ride home. Hopefully the weather begins to clear soon

Well having met NM I can tell you the way she is on this board is the way she is in person! We enjoyed dinner and Mary Poppin's before it closed on Broadway in the middle of a snowstorm!!

Doesn't Kennywood have a Tumble Bug?

NM- you crack me up!

Teena- they told me he had to appear in an area that "looked" like Tortuga or something similar in order to book him. I said, "what's better than a beach with a shipwreck?" Instead they wanted to do a ballroom with some props!!!!! I said, "no." I probably would have booked him for my son's graduation party if I could have done it out on the beach. My son graduated from East Carolina, home of the pirates and who better than the ultimate pirate, Captain Jack Sparrow!
