You "win"? :confused3

:rotfl: Yup!

Idk about you guys, but it seems like the summer vacations of my childhood (eeeeeeeoooonnnns ago!) were really long. I can remember thinking that the summer was 1/2 over by 4th of July. Now there's barely any summer vacation at all! :sad2:

We are a Poly family but this year we decided to try the BC. Have been reading trip-advisor and I have a few questions. We are huge Disney fans so I can't imagine any of this is true but if anyone has any information that would be greatly appreciated.

1. Have read several reviews re: the need for renovations, musty smell in the rooms. Soggy carpeting. Saggy mattresses. Has anyone experienced this?

2. Have read quite a few reviews that mentioned a bee problem at SAB. Just curious if this is true because my oldest is allergic to bees.

3. Most important question. Best centrally located room area to request? My youngest is recovering from ankle surgery and wont be fully recovered for our trip. Have rented a wheelchair but since I am not familiar with the resort I am really not sure where to request a room. We will definitely be visiting Epcot more than DHS. Just want to try to minimize the walking. (I know that's crazy to try and do while in Disney!). Any suggestions?

4. Been reading some posts that mention a "secret" exit near the quiet pool that saves some walking. Can anyone tell me what to look for?

Thank you for any information you can provide! I am sure we will love BC. Disney has never let us down! Just concerned about some of those reviews I read. Thanks again! Have a magical night! :)

I just returned from BC a few days ago so I can help with some of the questions.

1. Our room was in good shape. There were a couple things that led me to think they needed a little touch up, but very very minor. Certainly no odors and the mattresses were quite firm. Too firm for my liking actually. The only thing I noticed was the grout in the floor was darkening from dirt which can happen fast anyhow. And the drain in the sink was looking worn like it rusted and got cleaned up a bit. Other than that the room was in great shape.

2. We were out by the pool a few times and never noticed a single bee. And believe me I hate bees so it would not have gone unnoticed if they were buzzing around me. So if they are there they certainly weren't everywhere.

3. I'm not entirely sure what the most central is but we had a room just off the elevators which was really nice. It was super easy to pop down to the lobby or Marketplace at night. There are rooms that may be closer to Epcot via the secret entrance though.

Our kids got out on May 23, but we start back August 2. That has never made much sense to me because I live in Georgia and it can easily be over 100 degrees during the month of August. Many of our school buses are not air conditioned and the temps are brutal!

I live in Georgia and my kids finished school on May 23. Unfortunately, they start back around August 2. This has never made sense to me because it can easily be over 100 degrees during August and many of our buses are not air conditioned. The bus temperatures are brutal!!

:hourglass Wow, another whole month of school :scared: We have just 2 and 1/2 days left, oops, did I just say that :goodvibes We also started August 22nd this past year, and boy did that cause an uproar! My son had to miss a goalie camp because school started so early :rotfl: He lobbied hard to skip those first few days of school because "we don't do anything really important." Now, if we had had a Disney vacation planned, well, there would have been reason to miss those first few days :thumbsup2

On another thrilling note, I should start a TR because my DH, I swear he lives to throw wrenches into my plans :crazy2: Why o Why!!?? He asked about accommodations for 5 people and I had to give him the news that we would have to stay at BC because there just isn't room enough for 5 people at POR :scratchin To which he responds, "Okay, well, you and your sister have fun." Wait!! What!!! I told him that I would have no problem with going just the kids and I and meeting my sister. He doesn't feel that I would allow our DD (7) to have fun. Are you kidding, we are in the most magical place, I would be in my happy place :rotfl2: He said he would give me the night to sleep on my decision to go to Disney without him. Oh man, he just gave me the keys to the Kingdom pixiedust: This would be great because then when I want to take my DS (11) next summer before he heads to middle school (just the two of us, thanks to a good friend of mine for giving me that great idea :thumbsup2), there won't need to be any discussion of whether I can handle it!! This is the same man who uses the Vanilla Extract every few months and decides the spot I have it, doesn't work for him, so he moves it to where he wants it, so then when I go to get it as I'm making double chocolate chip cookie bars, I can't find it and I freak out and ask my DD to run to the neighbors quick to see if I can use some of hers :crazy2:

Day 3. So MK was absolutely packed today. EasyWDW had it as a crowd level 7 I believe, but I think it was way more than that. I also think this was the case because they extended the closing to midnight at some point.

Anyway we were on the bus at 8am and at the turnstiles by 8:20. There were already a fair number of people waiting. Opening show started at 8:45 and we were in the park before 9am.

Before lunch at 11:45 we did the following.

Thunder, Thunder, Splash, Pirates, Haunted Mansion, Splash (FP), train to FL, Mermaid (FP). The longest wait for any of these standby or FP was 10 minutes, so this is a perfect case of how getting to the park early on a crowded day pays off.

After lunch we slowed things down some because the crowds had rolled in. We did Dumbo (FP), People Mover, Philharmagic, Space (FP), Buzz (FP), train to Frontier, Tree House, Carousel, and shopped.

Dinner was at Crystal Palace. We then did some more quick shopping, rode Small World and then got a parade spot in Frontier shortly after 8. It was a pleasant evening for people watching while waiting.

Buses at closing were very efficient so no complaints here either. We were back in our room just before 11 after leaving the park when Wishes finished.

I will say lines were long everywhere. Small World had waits over 30 minutes by late morning. Buzz had over 45 minute waits from late morning for the rest of the day. There was even a line to get on the people mover. It was one of those days where once we did what the kids wanted to do we were content to just go at our own pace.

After today's marathon, tomorrow is a scheduled rest and relaxation day at the resort.

I know that before I go on a trip I start to get worried about all these potential issues that tend to vanish once I get started on the actual trip. Right now I have a vacation planned in December with Buzzy the Fly and I have all of these concerns, like does he snore and what will people think if I'm going on vacation with a fly. Our dining plan is also a mess because Buzzy is on the deluxe dumpster plan and I just couldn't agree to that. At first I thought that we would be dining separately but then Buzzy said he would come to all of my meals as well. As long as there is no sharing I'm fine with that.... I think! ;)

First of all, I don't snore, I "hum". .... And it's not like you've never gone camping and haven't spent a night with a fly or two, or three or four (that was a fun night, let me tell you!) As for Mrs. Buzzy, like most married flies, she is glad to get rid of the husband for awhile.

I figure it this way, you order me drinks from the bar and I'll keep you company in the laundry room.... it's a win win for everyone!

Hey Buzzy,

You better not let NM's boyfriend/laundry room bartender Tom Collins hear you're putting the moves on NM in HIS laundry room! Things might get heated in there! I hear Tom is the possessive type and might pull off your wings while mixing up cocktails. How will you be able to support your family without wings?

Just looking out for your best interests....I'm not saying, I'm just saying.....

I love hearing about your trip! Thanks for taking the time out of your magical vacation so all of us can live vicariously through you.

Enjoy your day at SAB tomorrow!

I'm sorry to say that Buzzy is safe. Tom Collins left me for Margarita. After he sobered up he left Margarita for Shirley Temple, but he fell off of the wagon and is now shacking up with Stella Artois.

My kids don't get out of school until July 5th!
Your family sounds as nutty as mine.

I'm joining you on that dance!!! Even though I'll be at CSR for this trip :(.

Single digit dance together! We have stayed at CSR twice now and if we were going to go moderate this would be the resort! It feels almost deluxe to us (minus huge size and smaller rooms)!

Day 2 of our BC stay has been a good one. We were up early this morning and at the Epcot IG at 8:25. The gates promptly opened at 8:45, and we hustled over to Test Track.

We got FP with a return time of 9:30, and then immediately rode it with a 5 minute wait. By the time we got off, the line to get FPs was all the way back to Inoventions.

We thought we might be able to get over to Soarin to ride standby, but a check of the app and the big board already showed a 60 minute wait. Decided to skip since we already rode yesterday. So we hoped Mission Space with a 5 minute wait instead.

After this the kids wanted to meet characters so we waiting for 30 minutes at the Character Spot. Then we did some shopping. My DD really wants the Pluto Mickey eats hat, but they are were apparently
all out at Epcot. A very helpful CM called around everywhere looking for one and told us right where to find one when we go to MK tomorrow.

Lunch was at the Tangierine Cafe in Morocco. Very much recommend this as the portions are large and the food good.

We then headed back for a afternoon at the pool. Once again there was a lot of chair saving going on. However people were not afraid to move towels if there were no personal items in sight. They would even ask those sitting around to be sure no one had been seen using those chairs. One time I did see a CM walk around and remove towels as well. All in all a fun afternoon at the pool where the kids bragged they had gone down the slide some 34 times.

Tomorrow we had off to MK bright and early for a full day.

Thanks for all if the updates!! This is getting us so excited for our trip next week!

Trust me........I've been considering it. My husband keeps shaking his head because he figures I'll cave. LOL!! Summertime just always means YC to me. I love it so!!!
Go on - you know you want to!!:lmao:
Up here the kiddos get out of school on June 27!!:scared1:

You "win"? :confused3
I was about to say I "win" because our schools finish on 28th june but.............
My kids don't get out of school until July 5th!
Your family sounds as nutty as mine.

You "win" -definitely the latest date so far :)

:dance3::cheer2:

This is so amazing! I can't wait to hear all about your trip and the big surprise! (Yes, I do live vicariously through others who are going to WDW!)

It's okay, I also live at WDW mentally through others! I'm teasing my DD7 daily with the big surprise in Disney! I have not given in yet!
