oh, I should add that we ate at RnC for dinner one night. We had some sort of app that was a boiled egg with sausage on it, breaded and fried. YUMMO! We want to go for lunch next time so we can try the burger with the egg on top.

We also at at Via Napoli and had pizza. It was very fast! In and out in 30 mins or less.

One night walked to ESPN Club. It was actually one of our better meals. Would def go there again.

Those are the places we ate nearby BC, so thought I would share.:goodvibes
Definitely a Scotch Egg :)
We have a winner!!! :cool1:

As always you make me laugh so loud I risk waking the neighbours :lmao: Mind what are you doing up so early (or have you not gone to bed yet)????

Another question, may have missed it on the very informative first page. Is there a general store located at YC? Where I can get things such as milk, cereal, snacks, etc. I showed DBF the resorts tonight, his faves were YC & BWI, until we saw the clown. That kind of killed our interest. Lol.

There is a store at the YC but it has a much smaller selection of grocery items that the one at the BC. Probably because the BC store caters for those stating in the villas. It's not too much of a walk though, so still quite handy :thumbsup2

Perfect! That works for us. Thank you.

I only live for 15 days, so I'm not sleeping either....

On my last legs, your friend Buzzy the Fly

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Way to go Buzzy:rotfl2:
Gotta go make some breakfast for the kiddos now (like any good mother would instead of whining about wanting to stay watching the 24hour webcam thing at Magic Kingdom lol). Catch up with you all later. Have a lovely day:)

I'm pretty sure I accessed the AP site with my Disney Store voucher in 2011. I didn't know I could redeem the APs at a ticket window, though. We did it at Guest Services at Epcot & it took FOREVER! Those couple of people in front of us must have had some ISSUES! Lol!

You sneaked your comment in between my two posts on Tuesday.

I know you have posted here a couple of times, but I'm not sure if I have officially welcomed you, so

:welcome: and thanks for the info!

If you have an upcoming trip to the resort, please let us know.

:goodvibes

Oh my word!! I thought we were on page 10 or so the last time I was on here!! I will try rereading and play catch up, but I had to post some awesome news!!! Beach Club boys and girls, order another round of Sunken Treasures because the family and I are staying put at Beach Club :cheer2: My Dsister called this morning to let me know that she would like to join us!! She has never been, EVER to Disney, and it will be her birthday while we are there :cheer2: I am surprising my kiddos, so I'm not telling them until she shows up at Beach Club to join us!!! I did tell her that she has to be willing to do EMH, and she said she was in!! Alright, had to post before settling in to play catch up!! I'm sure I missed something good!! :cheer2:

I'll go ahead and take that pesky POR right off your listing! The dates I have are Dec 14-22. Still the same?

:woohoo:

Just wanted to introduce myself. We will be at BCV June 1 -7. I have to admit that I have done very little planning for this trip and want to make this a real vacation. This is my 6th trip to Disney and 3rd stay at BCV. This will be my first solo trip with the kids (dd 11 and ds 7) since my divorce last year. Pray for us!:rotfl2: I am looking forward to some fun and relaxation. Say hi if you see us at the pool!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on page 1.

The kids are at great ages to enjoy Stormalong Bay and the resort!!! Have a fantastic trip.

:cool1:

Hi there! Just wanted to pop in as we are still here at the BC to let everyone know the fly issue that came up here just before we left has not been bad at all. We've been to all 4 parks and yes we've seen a few here and there and occasionally in the restaurants but nothing bad. Thought some of you who read about the flies like I did might be relieved to hear that.

So glad to hear it. Thanks for letting us know. I'm sure a lot of people will be relieved to hear it. But I can't help thinking I'm going to miss our friend Buzzy, just a little bit. A very little bit.

:lmao:

Not sure if you have a stroller rental in mind but I case you don't apple stroller rentals is running a deal...just pay for insurance per day ($5.00) and the rental is free. I got a double stroller for $35.00 for a week.

Thanks so much for this info! Very helpful. I have seen favorable posts about Apple Strollers a couple of times, so I think I will add the info to Page 1. If anyone has positive or negative feedback about the company, please let me know.

:thumbsup2

100 days today until my first BC stay!!
Question- we have 4 adults but really want a daybed so we all don't have to sleep together. Is there a specific room category that would "better" my chances of getting one? I know we won't get first priority bc we are not 5 ppl, but just wondering how i can better my chances other than noting it on a request. Thanks for any help :)

:welcome:

Would you like to be added to the Be Our Guest list? When is your trip? October?

I think I responded to this earlier in the week, but I can't remember so, here goes :

Unfortunately, I don't think anyone knows which of the rooms at the resort have daybeds so we can't tell you which booking category would give you the best chance. Book the category you want. For your room request, put "Four adults. Daybed please"

Make sure this request is on your reservation, and call the Central Reservations Office about a week before your trip to make sure it is still there.

Don't do the advanced online checkin. There is no place on the 60 day check in to indicate daybed.

When you arrive at the resort, ask the CM checking you in if your room has a daybed. If not, see if there is one available for you. If the answer is still no, you can ask that a rollaway cot be provided. As long as there is one available, you can have that free of charge for your length of stay.

??? Can the checkin CM take care of this or do you have to call housekeeping???

Hope that helps.

The number is 407-934-4004. Give them a call and they will explain your options. We have what they call the mini session booked on June 13, which is the 20 minute session. You are given a flash drive after the session with all your pictures, and a release is included on the drive. You can then get them printed anywhere. It rained on us one time at the Poly, and they had plenty of indoor spots, plus the waterfall in front of the lobby, which is covered. I'm sure they will have different spots to choose from at the BC if it rains. We don't ask for a specific photographer, but I do ask them to send someone who is good with young children. That worked well for us last year. We like to do pictures in the morning before we go to the parks or pool. This year we are going to breakfast at Captain's Grill to get my sons' beloved Mickey waffles before pictures. That should make for better pictures for us! Give it a try! As a mom, I believe I can never have too many pictures of my boys!!!:goodvibes:goodvibes

Thanks for the detailed info and advice!

:goodvibes

Just letting you fellow summer travelers that the dollar aisle of my local Target they had portable fans and inflatable noodles!

Thanks for the tip!!!

I have not seen inflatable noodles!!! Awesome!!! I wonder if they are ok in the SAB lazy river. I don't see why not, but would love it if someone could find out.

:thumbsup2

Just bought the inflatable noodles yesterday. Put them straight into the Disney bin! If anyone uses them successfully at SAB let me know!! FYI there were 2 in a pack for $3 in the Target Dollar Spot.

Oh Yeah - checking into BCV TONIGHT!! Hope to get a pic of my DGrDs with Teena on Sunday or Monday!! I have pics of my kids and DNeph with Art through the years. Whoo Hoo!!

Don't know if you will be checking in with us during your trip, but I hope you have a fantastic time!!!

:goodvibes

The good news is that our entire trip will be at my favorite resort ever....Beach Club!

And Dee, maybe we'll get to meet up at SAB for a Sunken Treasure since we'll be at BC at the same time!

Still July 13-21??? BC CL (All Beach Club, All the Time)

Once again, I am excited about this news!

:cool1:

You guys are evil!! :rotfl: My TA just switched us from YC GV to YC CL (standard). I lose my pretty view, but gain the CL lounge :goodvibes Time to cancel a few breakfast ADRs...

Congrats! I'll make the change to the BOG list.

Personally, I would take CL over view every time!

:thumbsup2

We'll be back to the Beach Club July 10th through 17th for our annual getaway.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1.

:woohoo:

How good is the Wi-Fi coverage at the BC/YC? Do you get good reception at Stormalong Bay?

:welcome:

Have you booked a trip? Let us know the dates if you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list.

BUMPING up your question about Wi-Fi at Stormalong Bay. Does anyone have recent experience?

I thought I remember reading somewhere about a scavenger hunt at BC. Is this something for little kids? :confused3 Could a family do it :confused3or is it organized by the hotel?:confused3

:welcome:

When is your trip?

Some responses about a scavenger hunt are earlier in this thread.

Hi! Just adding myself to the thread. We're doing our annual Universal/Disney, multi-split-stay vacation in July (I know, but it's the only time we can go!) Our YC portion of the trip will be July 11-14. We can't wait. It will be our fist YC stay.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

But first, you need to give me more details about your whole trip...

Is the Universal portion of your stay before or after YC? Where are you staying?? Have you been to US/IoA before?

Our dates are very similar.

We are going to "The Park Which Must Not Be Named" from July 13-16, then checking in to the BC July 16-20.

pixiedust:

Headed back to BC on June 7th -- lost track of how many times we've stayed at YC/BC -- might be our 8th visit; in any case, can't wait!

We did online check-in, and my question is if our KTTW will be RFID.

Thanks!

page 60-63

OMG, yes we feel the same way. It was so great, convenient, and had such a safe feeling for the kiddos. Started our day off so much more relaxed!

Ahem by the way, DEE can you add us to the BOG list for November?

Nov 17 - 23 BC SV CL!!:banana::banana::banana:

Absolutely!!!

:woohoo:

Hi everyone!! :wave2:
My family & I are in the process of planning our 1st WDW trip!! :cool1:
We will not be certain on our dates for a few months, but, it will be in May (I THINK!!). We will be staying a total of 9 nights, doing a split stay between AoA, and just decided yesterday on YC. Most likely, it will be a 4/5 split, respectively.

I read the entire first page, and that just set it in more that the YC is where I would like to stay!!:woohoo:

I do have a question regarding the views. If we were to book Garden View, is the view ONLY of "something green"? Or, may it also have rooftop/parking views? I ask this because we recently stayed at Aulani in a Garden View, and I felt as if I had a Standard View with a hill in the background :confused3

Also, does anybody know what the rack rate was for May this year? Just trying to get an idea in my head of figures.

Thanks a bunch!!:goodvibes

Another question, may have missed it on the very informative first page. Is there a general store located at YC? Where I can get things such as milk, cereal, snacks, etc. I showed DBF the resorts tonight, his faves were YC & BWI, until we saw the clown. That kind of killed our interest. Lol.

:welcome:

Would you like me to pencil you in on the Be Our Guest list for May, or wait until you book?

Regarding room views- I have started a couple of "View Threads" on the resort photo subforum. Click on these links and scroll through for a few samples of views from the different room categories.

The Yacht Club gift shop is Fittings & Fairings. There is a link on Page 1, Post 6. I'll add it here in a minute.

We were at YC last week too.

*snip*

Took advantage of the bounceback offer. Booked for both Sept & Dec coz we don't know whch week DH will be able to go. We'll be canceling 1 of them when we finally know. Can't wait to go back!!! :goodvibes

Thanks so much for your very detailed review! We appreciate the info.

Are you bouncing back to the Yacht Club? Or another resort? Do you want me to pencil you in for Sept and Dec, or wait until you know which dates you will be traveling?

:banana::banana::banana:

Can anyone tell me if the Yacht Club garden view rooms have a refrigerator? Sorry if this has been discussed before. Thanks in advance!

:welcome:

Do you have a trip booked? When? Would you like to be added to the Be Our Guest list on Page 1?

:cool1:

Others have also responded- all rooms at the resort have a mini-fridge.

We just came back from a great week at the Beach Club. I absolutely love the scent when walking into the Beach Club Main Lobby. Does anyone know what that might be and get you get it anywhere.

Post-trip :welcome: to the thread!

Here's the info on the BC/YC scent from the "Other Useful Info" post on Page 1.

What is that awesome smell at the Beach Club?

The scent generator may be purchased at www.scentairhome.com
The scent used is green clover and aloe

Redneck scent solutions- if you can't afford the scentair system, there are reports that certain fragrances at Bath & Body Works are good matches. Unfortunately, some of these lines have been discontinued:

BBW: Rainkissed Leaves, Exotic Rainforest, Oceanside, Cotton Blossom

Please let us know if you have found other good substitutions. I think a few people have mentioned some Yankee Candle scents remind them of the BC smell, but I can't remember what they are, so if someone knows, please post. I'll add the info.

On a cold and rainy Memorial Day weekend, with even a possibility of SNOW, this thread keeps me warm and happy.

Pirate Cruises all sold out during our trip (at all resorts)

Hello Y&BC friends! It's been awhile since I've posted. However I've been lurking for months!! My last time being very active on the DIS was last year, but that was mostly on the DL threads since we visited DL/DCA for the first time. Anyway, I miss my 'old' friends and look forward to all the new friends here...this is such a friendly place!!

DH and I are coming down for F&W in October...have the SW airfare booked but not hotel yet (opposite of what I normally do). I had a great pin code through end of September and wanted to book with that for the beginning of F&W, but we have a wedding in VA end of Sep. We do know we want to stay in the Epcot area!! My daughter is upset she can't go (college), but my son (just graduated from Rutgers) seems okay with it. They both enjoy Disney (especially DD). So all of you folks wondering if your kids will outgrow WDW...I say don't even think of it. There is sooooo much to do and my family realized on our last few trips it's not just about the rides haha.

Kerry
