Spending my last hours at disney by SAB. I should be writing up a TR but just want to make some comments about my trip.

1. Loved YC. For a group of adults this place is ideal! Far less kids at this resort, so it was a haven after some hectic days at the park. We love both resorts, toss up of which is my favorite. Like the look of Bc better, but I like the lack of children in YC.

2. My family is club level converted. The ease of the lounge totally works for us, especially since we drink insane amounts of coffee. (And love that they have real coffee in the morning). We only made it to cordials/desserts for one night, and we missed out on our beloved Oreo Bon bons (which we were informed are served at the lounge on Saturdays). The app hour is great. My only wish is that during the 11-4 snacks, just would like some difference in offerings. The staff was wonderful (Jorge and shakira in particular). Was able to get water bottles just ask. tipped the staff with momo***u cookies from NYC. All in all, we loved it.

3. Obvi, SAB is wonderful as usual. Got my sunken treasure. I'm good.

4. Cape may cafe, a place I usually will be the first to recommend, has lost a little flavor for us. Most of the food was great, except I tried the potato salad and it was in edible. Also, part of the buffet price is the dessert selection, and there was not one new dessert I liked. And i mentioned that to the chef by the buffet section, only for him to tell me that if i had mentioned it to him at the beginning of my meal, he would've been able to get some Bon bons for me. grrrr. I assume you try desserts at the end...? Lol. The seafood was great, but I can get good seafood without spending so much.

5. We tried ohana for the first time, and we loved the food, but there is so much food! We will probably go back tho.

6. We walked to DHS for the first (and last) time. Holy blister I didn't need that walk. The boats weren't running due to the weather, so we walked to make our ADR. I love the stroll to Epcot, but it is a trek to DHS on foot. That walk may be for some, but not for us.

7. I'm gonna miss YC and disney!!! Wahh, gonna go in SAB and whine some more. I don't want to go back to cold rainy NY!

Edited for add: no sign of the flies! They seemed to have buzzed away to a new place :)
Edited for further add: spoke too soon. As soon as the hurricane Hanna's appeared flies were amok. Perhaps Bc we don't eat at CS in the park we didn't notice.

Hello Y&BC friends! It's been awhile since I've posted. However I've been lurking for months!! My last time being very active on the DIS was last year, but that was mostly on the DL threads since we visited DL/DCA for the first time. Anyway, I miss my 'old' friends and look forward to all the new friends here...this is such a friendly place!!

DH and I are coming down for F&W in October...have the SW airfare booked but not hotel yet (opposite of what I normally do). I had a great pin code through end of September and wanted to book with that for the beginning of F&W, but we have a wedding in VA end of Sep. We do know we want to stay in the Epcot area!! My daughter is upset she can't go (college), but my son (just graduated from Rutgers) seems okay with it. They both enjoy Disney (especially DD). So all of you folks wondering if your kids will outgrow WDW...I say don't even think of it. There is sooooo much to do and my family realized on our last few trips it's not just about the rides haha.

Kerry

Can't wait to see you again!

It's also our first Disney run! My husband and I are running the 10K with our soon-to-be 13- and 14-year-olds, and then our youngest will run the kids' run. Have you seen the medal yet? Very excited about the Alice in Wonderland theme, since our two older boys are in a local production of it this summer, and we were Alice in Wonderland characters for MNSSHP last year! We plan to run the WDW half in 2015 when our older boys are 14 and 15 - but we'll see what they think of the 10K first!

Yes!! The medals are so cute!! Can't wait to get mine. My co workers & I are dressing as Alice characters for the run. I will be Cheshire Cat, and I think they decided on Dee & Dum. :)

Does anyone else wish they still rented out the inner tubes for the lazy river? There were so many less of them then when people had to pay per tube. On our trip a few weeks ago, there were so many tubes we could barely make it around the river. The lifeguards kept tossing in empty ones instead of letting them stay stacked on the sides, and more than once we saw several family members sprawl out on two-person tubes, with ONE person on each, with their arms clasped, linking their tubes together. They literally created blockades that were impossible to swim around.

I like the way they do the tubes now. I haven't found too many people linking tubes or anything like that. People have been polite about the use IMO.

Quick question, which can wait until you are back to the real world (YUCK)- were you using the Wi-Fi at SAB or were you connected in another manner, through 3G or 4G?

We have had recent questions about the quality of Wi-Fi by the pool.

I am SO saving your post!!!

I have seen several questions over the years from people who don't understand why the resort charges for the tubes. This is one of the reasons. The other is probably that people who get a tube might hog it (think "tube game" like the lounger issue) and not everyone who wants one would have access.

ETA- just saw disneydee6's response. Definitely a lot of how I would judge the success of free tube supply would be based on the behavior of those using them at the pool. If you get polite people, it works. If you don't, it is just a pain for everyone else around.

Are tubes free now? I have been away too long!

I'm sure it's just one of those things where everyone's experience will vary.

But I can tell you that when DH and I choose to stay at BC, we are there FOR the pool. We just spent three nights there, and spent, on average, 6 hours swimming, per day. So with that amount of time spent there, I'm sure we're going to notice more things that others might not catch.

Maybe it was just a particularly bad crowd during our stay. But I do wish the lifeguards wouldn't insist on keeping EVERY available tube IN the water at all times. Dealing with the groups people linking arms across tubes wouldn't have been nearly as hard if there were more space in the water. Surely there has to be a better way to store tubes...perhaps some sort of rack like they do with the life-jackets?

It was definitely a pain for us. We've stayed at BC three times now in the past 12 months, and I don't know when they stopped renting the tubes, but this was the first time that swimming in the lazy river was pretty much impossible for us. When it got to be too much, we'd leave and go to another, regular section of the pool, but if we're going to swim in a regular pool, we really don't need to be at BC.

Just wanted to remind July BC/YC Dissers about the 4th Annual BC/YC Dis Meet.

It is schedule for July 6 - around 6:00 in the solarium.

We always have a great time and are usually surprised by some "flat" guests!

The one and only Teena is always in attendance!!!

Someone reported about this for the first time about a month ago, and said that they were setting out the tubes without a charge during slow times.

I haven't heard if this is planned to be an occasional or permanent thing.

ITA that there is no reason for empty tubes to be in the lazy river if someone is not using them.

I have been using the wifi. There have been spots by SAB where the service have been less than great, but today where I was siting (tables in the shade by YC) I was able to get full wifi service.

We did notice one family that was hogging a float for hours at a time, not using it but keeping it by their stuff. If I was looking to use a float and none were available, I probably would've pointed it out to a cm but I didn't..and I doubt during the busier season that a move like that would go over well for them. Again tho, that's one rude family out if many many people who were acting fair minded.
