Great advice, although since she is still at the resort, I agree with 1coolnini who advised to go to the front desk and ask for a manager to discuss what happened.

I'm currently going through complete WDW withdrawal, so I've not been a very good thread participant lately, but I'm still following along and will add two things:

1) I also love cilantro. (After multiple visits per year and now a 2-year break, I'm reduced to contributions like "I love cilantro.") OK, I'll try not to bring everyone down and try to add something more productive . . .

2) In over 20 years of BC stays, we've only had one negative experience. It related to one CM who did not meet BC standards, and is not representative of the BC experience. I think Dee and coolnini's advice is great because my husband and I (yes, turned out to be a two-person job at check-in) asked for a supervisor right away and in person. Within 5 minutes, the supervisor corrected the situation entirely. And thirty minutes later, we received a follow up call with a new room assignment that went far, far above and beyond any expectations. I'll admit it was initially uncomfortable to ask for a supervisor -especially at the CL check-in desk - but I'm glad we did.

Well, I have been here since Saturday and I leave tomorrow. I was excited to stay at BC and see how they have changed since my last stay in 2008. Sadly, little has changed. I have received poor service and the rooms are very used (which to be fair is pretty typical of WDW).

My room wasn't ready at 3 and by 4, I still hadn't received a text so I went to the desk and found that my room was ready. They asked to update my keys since they were having lots of key problems. I got to my room and my key didn't work but my sisters did so I got in (she arrived by ME about 15" after i got to the room). It smelled like chemicals and every day I walk in, it smells like chemicals (not a cleaning agent smell). I called bell services and it took an hour to get my bags. But I was happy to be here so my sister and I went to Epcot. When we returned, neither key worked. We went to the front desk and got new keys. The thing is, it is not a quick process - they took a long time. We went back up and keys still don't work. I called from the hallway & they asked me to hold. I said no, just send someone up & they said ok. Well, no one ever came!! I went back down, waited in line again and then they had to go to the back and converse with a manager or someone and issue keys again. Finally, they came upstairs with me with the 'one' hotel master key. After numerous jiggling, we got in (even though our card keys didn't work since the whole locking mechanism was broken). She profusely apologized since this whole process took over an hour and said 'they would make it right' and leave new keys under the door so we could get some sleep.

Next morning - nothing. We waited until 10 am and a maintenance guy finally came. So much for getting on toy story mania that morning :(. And make it right?? No clue what she was talking about because there was never a call, note, or anything. Just inconvenience.

I understand these experiences can be isolated so let me review some other things-

Room - my room in 2008 was larger and had a daybed and I know not all rooms have one but this room feels smaller than the one I stayed in at Coronado springs. I'm glad it is only me (&my sister for 3 of the nights). I wouldn't like this for my family of 4. The room itself is pretty worn, the fan makes a thunking noise (not calling maintenance again- my time is precious), and the bathroom sprinkler is incredibly rusted. I do not like sinks outside of the bathroom but I knew this when I booked the room. But if moderate hotels can put wood panels or curtains, why don't they do that at BC?

Getting around - the location to Epcot and the other hotels is amazing! Trying to get around in the hotel is limited. Very few elevators and less stairs. I was told there were no stairs to get to my room since they were 'cast member' areas but not to worry since they would be open in the event of a fire (great). This makes you reliant on waiting for heavily used elevators if you aren't on the ground floor.

Hurricane Hannah's - I was so happy to see the expanded menu and the service was so much better than my last visit. I had the new bacon/cheese/apple butter sandwich. The bread gets too soggy and while it tastes unique, it fell apart due to the sogginess and needed something lighter to balance the rich, heavy taste.

Beach club marketplace still has a limited menu. I have walked to Boardwalk Bakery for 3 meals - it is that good!

Storm along Bay - happy to report I could easily find open chairs most likely due to the implementation of the wristbands. The slide closed as I waited in line for it so I didn't try it (maybe today?) I'm still not keen on the pool set up though. It is like walking through a maze to get anywhere and I still wouldn't want to watch my kids at this pool due to how it is spread out. It's ok for good swimmers 11 & older maybe.

Parking - I have been fortunate to find close parking and am pleased this is possible since I typically have to park far away at Disney hotels.

Transportation - this can be hit or miss at ANY Disney hotel but I am happy to say I only waited 10 minutes once & that is still great. Most waits have been under 2"!

Movie at night - this is still one of the best parts. Chill and watch a movie, roast marshmallows, grab a drink and food at Hurricane Hannah's, and see fireworks from 2 parks. But, it wasn't going last night - some private party last night :(

All in all- I might consider staying in the villas for the 1 bdr and bathroom set up but I am really upset by the lack of customer service here. I stay frequently at Disney hotels and even more so elsewhere since I travel so much for business and this hotel is not earning its deluxe status so far.

I know many of you are fans and I can understand if my experience is unique. It is not what has happened to me but how they have dealt with it (or rather not dealt with it) that disappoints me.

Totally agree with others - unacceptable treatment! I would speak to someone instead of letting it fester. Give them an opportunity to make it up to you before you leave!

Totally Agree..... Please speak with a mananger!

Lobster Roll Review:
(from someone who has never had a lobster roll at Disney, but is not afraid to rate 'em anyway)

4- Columbia Harbor House- most reports are that this is just nasty. Swimming in mayo.

3- Hurricane Hannah's- more of a "seafood roll", with shrimp and sometimes scallops joining the lobster. Citrus mayo. Definitely not traditional New England style roll, but it sounds really yummy to me, however reports have been mixed.

:confused3

shrimpandlobsterroll-2.jpg

2- Lobster roll sliders at Captain's Grille at lunch. Reports are that these are super yummy, but it takes the runner-up spot since this restaurant is not a QS location

*1* Boardwalk Bakery- from all of the reports I have read (2)- this is a clear winner! All lobster meat, perfect amount of mayo.

We need pictures, people!!!

.

Will get you pictures . I know we will be back over there tomorrow. They really were very good. I have to agree that the ones at Columbia Harbor House are the nastiest thing we ever ate. One bite and brought it back! They were so nice about it too. Gave us something else and refunded our counter service credit.

Have a truly magical trip!!!

Thank you!

:banana::banana::banana: Have a Super Fantastic Time!!!

And thank you!!!

Hit double digits today...99 days to go!
Congrats!!! We will try to leave some water in SAB and some Sunshine for you!!!

YEAH!! Have a great time!:beach:
Why thank you!!!

Are you talking about regular photopass service or Photopass Plus with the ride photos?
I have no experience with PP+, so I appreciate this info.

As mentioned, you can have as many cards as necessary and add them all to your account.

You can have as many cards as you want for regular photopass. For photopass+ you only have one card - that is it... ONE solitary card. If you prepay for Photopass you save a lot (i want to say $50 but I can't remember).

Hello everybuzzy,
Currently my families are vacationing in Walt's world but we are not happy with our current accommodations. We would like to know if the Yacht Beach would be a good place to hang out. We are especially interested in a dumpster view room as we are not on the dining plan. Why you have to call 180 days away from your vacation to decide where you want to nibble makes no sense to us flies so we couldn't get in to any of the fancy, fly friendly places.

We would also like to know if we have to bring our room keys to the pool. Since they are so large, lugging them around can prove to be a hardship on us flies. We were hoping they had those R F I D (Resort Fly I D) bracelets that we can put on our legs.

Another concern are the life jackets at the pool. Do they have ones small enough to fit our larva? If not we can just park them on a leaf and send them down the slide.

Thanks for all the great information on page 1 of this thread. I'm sorry if these questions have been asked by others flies staying at the resort but we are really busy buzzing around the parks and we don't have time to read the whole thread.

Big wet sloppy kisses..... from your friend Buzzy

I've been trying to find some really effective fly paper. Do you know the best brand?

Hope you and your maggots have a great time! Try landing on the Kitchen Sink! They look delicious.
I am really surprised that in this day and age one can be so politically incorrect! We know longer call them maggots dahling, fly larva is the correct term.

I just prepurchased photopass+ and it is correct, you save $50. Good deal if you are thinking about purchasing it.

Dee, please add another daughter to my trip in December. So excited My youngest is getting to join us. First time for her on our family trip. She was diagnosed 3 years ago with stage 3 breast cancer while she and her husband were stationed in England. She now lives in Alaska and will finally be able to come. Called to book a 4th room at the Beach Club club level and the cast member asked me to adopt her! She is coming alone since her husband of 13 years decided he couldn't handle her new attitude towards life!!!!! He left her for one of her friends. She needs some Disney magic.

Hi everybody ... I'm back from Jeanne's and Lily's. Had a wonderful time. Got recognized (3000 miles away) at the pool at Jeanne's apartment complex. "Aren't you Teena the Greeter from the Beach Club at Disney World?" Very funny. Jeanne got the biggest kick out of that!

Thanks Dee for getting the new thread up and running!!!!!

I'm working this Sunday and then off on Monday for four nights at Disney's Vero Beach. Then I'll be working Sunday and Monday all through June.

Hope to see lots of you soon!

Just chiming in, but you work at BC? LOVE IT THERE. Was wondering if you know who was the greeter back in August 2008? That's when we stayed at BC and we don't remember if there was a greeter.

Welcome Buzzy, I'm sure you will love SAB. While most often there are poolside chairs available, I have heard the odd report that an empty chair is hard to find. I'm not sure you have to worry about that though. I've heard that your kind often have a way of clearing out some chairs.

Enjoy your time at the YC/BC.

:yay::yay::yay:

Jeanne is soooo excited about Newport Beach. I can't thank you enough for the recommendation!!! We've already put in for our 2014 dates.

I'm not a fan of the beach at Vero Beach but love the quietness of the resort and the pool is great.

Our favorite East Coast Beach is Cape May, New Jersey!!
