Only 100 days left! Tomorrow we will be in the double digits :cool1: Can't wait to stay at the YC GV CL :goodvibes To all who are in the single digits or leaving very soon, hope you have a wonderful trip with lots of pixiedust:

Freshly back from our April 15-22nd stay at BCV. We loved everything about BC. Here's just a little taste of our trip. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMQPsUeXjdc

Loved your video and so did my DS :thumbsup2 Thank you so much for sharing, it makes it all more exciting as we wait :cool1:

So excited---66 days to go!!:cool1:

First...my DH agreed to add an extra night to our trip so our new dates are 7/8-7/15. Now, we won't have to miss out on MK pm EMH- we can enjoy them on our last night there!

Second...IPO was able to book the Illuminations cruise for us on my son's birthday and our good friends from Tampa will be joining us:goodvibes

Third...I just booked the MK dessert party for 7/10. We have never done this , so looking forward to it!

It is becoming harder and harder to keep all of these wonderful surprises from my kids but I'm trying to stay strong!!

WOW! You are so much better then me with keeping it as a secret. My son found out about our trip because I left the planner up on my computer and when he went to do his homework, well, he froze:confused3 He does not know where we are staying, but knows we are going. Hang in there, it is so much more fun to surprise them :)

Can't wait. In less than 24 hours my DH and I will be at BCV for 11 days!!!:cool1::yay::banana:

That is so exciting!:banana: Have lots of fun :goodvibes

I agree bama belle - hang in there! But I know how DisneyEsther feels. I planned a surprise trip to BC for our three boys in the summer of 2010, but then our middle son made the all star baseball team for the first time and was really excited. A week before the trip, the league announced the game schedule and most of the games conflicted with our trip. So we decided to tell him about the trip to avoid the "Dick's House" phenomenon. Turns out he thinks Disney is way more exciting than All Star baseball, but I didn't want to risk it. Now I wish I could try again, but it gets harder as they get older!

I was going to send out my package today and told if I used USPS to give it extra time because it has to go to a PO Box first, but I was so busy with sick kids, doctors and errands I totally forgot to even finish packing it up.

Just wondering how long I really need to get it there. We are in NJ and I was just going to send it the cheapest method. At this point I can get it to the Post Office Monday and we arrive the next week on Friday so that gives it 11 days. That should be plenty right?

TIA!

I might be too late (you might have already mailed your package). If not, you can go to usps.com. Hover your mouse over SHIP A PACKAGE and click on CALCULATE A PRICE. I know you asked about time, not cost, but if you enter the information about your package, it will show you the different shipping options and when your package should arrive for each of those options.

That won't help with figuring out how long it will take to get from Disney's centralized post office delivery location to your resort (I have no idea about that one) but it's a starting point.

Here's the link: http://postcalc.usps.com/

Thanks for posting!!! This post alerted me that the dessert party reservations for July were being booked... I needed 7/13, but nothing was available... so I booked 7/11 at 9 and then rebooked le cellier for the same day at 4:15 instead of 6:30! All worked out wooohooo!!! Can't wait!!

Hello. I guess I will be joining in. I just changed my reservation from POR to YC SV. We will be there August 22-31 of this year. This is our first ever trip to WDW, well, Florida for that matter. I have been enjoying the thread.

Question: Does anyone have teens and what have the teens thought of Yacht Club?

I showed by 16 year old DD a video of YC from youtube and it unfortunately showed an older woman being pushed in a wheelchair. Now my DD is convinced YC is like a nursing home and is not happy with the resort choice. She said it should be fine as long as she doesn't have to feed any old people tapioca pudding. She is kind of making me regret changing, but not enough to change my plans.

My DD16 loves YC! She won't think of going anywhere else. SAB is a huge draw for her as is the location close to Epcot.

My sons been going since he was 4. He's now 25 and there has been something wonderful to draw him back in that area at each and every age. He always took friends with him when he was a teenager and since. They have always thought it was wonderful. SAB and the Boardwalk area as well as Epcot at night keeps him happy!!

I have two teen DD's, an 18 yr old and a soon to be 15 yr old and while we stay at the BC, I can honestly tell you they would have no issue at all with the staying at the YC. They love everything about that area including SAB and the "cute lifeguards" (their words) :rotfl:

Welcome, OregonMom!!! Now, your post is just TOO funny because our boys are ages 6, 12 and 13 and our older boys have this long-standing joke about "old people" at YC. We've stayed at BC many times and it's among their favorite resorts. (SAB is definitely their favorite pool, that's certain!) They've always had this idea in their heads that YC is for "old people" and every time we're in the YC lobby, we inevitably run into guests who appear to be 80+ years old and they give me the knowing look!

The one time I stayed at YC, it was with just our 6-year-old. We loved it, but I have to be honest that BC remains our favorite between the two, at least for now. Are you interested in switching to BC? If not, or if it's not available, YC is a GREAT resort and a fantastic choice. It's definitely not stuffy and I've never seen any tapioca! And having done a split stay between POFQ and YC last year, I can tell your change from POR/POFQ to YC/BC is a very good decision! I was so excited to transfer from POFQ to YC that we caught a cab over to YC at 6am. There is no question that all three of our boys would rather stay at YC or BC over POR or POFQ. I don't think either of you will be disappointed!

So, when you do the math, how does it compare to GG?

Well, I think I may end up spending less if I buy the water, milk, juice, etc from the resort or it may end up costing approx the same. Hard to gauge how much we will drink aside from meals. Last trip I ordered a bunch of drinks from GG and we had a ton left over. Probably b/c we could only grab about 1 each on the way out the door once or twice a day. Maybe this time we will drink more tho b/c it will be hotter and I am *trying* to spend more down time at the resort. Think I am gonna skip GG this time and see how far the $100 I was gonna spend on beer/drinks/yogurt/apple slices goes at BCM. Then at least I will know for next time. I grabbed dry snacks today to bring in my suitcase so we are good there. DH will bring a plastic thing of Jim Beam to mix drinks so he can go without beer I guess.

Ds will be 13 this trip, two dds - 14 and turning 16. They been coming to BC/YC for the last 7 years and LOVE IT!!! It's their favorite resort.

I just wanted to let you all know how great BC IPO is.

I didn't even know they had opened up the Fireworks Dessert Party for July today. When I came home from work there was an email from BC IPO they they got the 3rd of July for us. It was for seven and that wasn't even a problem.

Can't wait - Teena we are so excited that you are Lauren are joining us!

The Epcot resort area is a wonderful place to stay, especially with teens. We had stayed at the BC or BCV almost exclusively, but we did stay at YC once when our two daughters were aged 15 and 17. The YC is really lovely, although everyone preferred the BC.

Since this is your first trip to WDW, they really have no idea how nice the Epcot resort area is. A hotel is a hotel, and the YC is one of the nicest ones, but the fun for them will really be the proximity of Epcot and HS, the activities on the boardwalk, and how great the SAB pool area is. I don't think they will be disappointed once they get there. :goodvibes

Glad to help! I think that I read on the dessert party thread that only the first week and a half of July opened up today so if you really need the 13th it might be available soon.
