Thanks Teena!!! We will be coming to look for you while there. We are at YC from 4/18-4/28!

I should be in the BC lobby on Sunday and Monday. I start at 9:30 and leave at 5:45. If I'm not there, I'm either on break or helping a guest somewhere. Just ask at the Bell Services Desk.

Hi Teena. I met you a few years ago. Just wondering...if I book garden view and request full balcony or patio(1 st floor) how likely am I to get that? Plus we need a daybed because we will have 5. Just afraid since both are very important to me because as the only girl I really feel I will need the balcony as a getaway while the guys are getting ready but the daybed is also a must. Basically what I am worried about is that one request might cancel the other.

You should be okay. Worse case scenario is that they won't have what you want available on your check-in day. If that's the case, just ask if you can room change to what you want the next day and they will set it up. Then don't unpack or anything that first day and when you leave for the pool or parks the next morning, leave your bags with Bell Services, go to the front desk and tell them you have checked out of your old room and then when your new room is ready, they will text you. But I think you have a good chance of getting what you want the first day. Make sure when you check-in, if it is before 3 PM, tell them you want to wait and get a room that meets your wishes versus getting a ready room at check-in. In other words, sometimes they have a room that fits your needs but it won't be ready until 3 PM and if you check-in at 9 AM, they assume you'd rather have a room that is ready at 9 AM even if it doesn't meet your requests. You need to let them know you'd rather wait for the room that meets your requests than get a ready room immediately that doesn't meet your requests.

Kanga- are all of the people in your party over the age of 3?

If the answer is yes, Teena, should the request just be for the full balcony? With a family of 5, they should get a room that will sleep everyone, right? Either a daybed or rollaway cot?

Thank you for asking this, Natebenma! I have been wondering if daybed should be on my room request at YC as we are a family of 5. I imagine a rollaway would take up a more significant chunk of space that we kinda need. But, I do have location requests that are more important (I think)...

Yes, if your reservation shows 5 over the age of 3 years old, you will automatically get a room that sleeps 5. However, if you'd much rather have the daybed versus the rollaway, then you should request daybed too.

We always try first to get families of 5 into rooms with a daybed. However, sometimes because of a number of reasons, you will get a bed with a rollaway instead. Honestly, the rollaway stands up when not being used and takes up very little room.

Good to know it folds up and out of the way! Thanks, Teena!

We always FLY to Disney from Ohio. It's like a 17-20 straight drive, but when you can get a flight for $178 round trip, you gotta FLY! I really lucked out this time. When I was in my 20's, we would drive, but there is no way I would do it now in my 50's!

We always fly from Kentucky. Our tickets cost about $250 this time. We justify it by reminding ourselves that you lose 2 to 3 days when you drive and have to catch up on sleep!

I have a new countdown. Going with my brother and dd5 & dd2 5/15-5/18 yacht club standard room!!!! We were originally gonna stay at pop but for $525 more to upgrade the walking distance, daybed (hopefully) & queen size beds won out.

I have a crazy question, lol. Does anyone remember when they left Mk & AK what number gate the yacht and BC is for the buses. I been looking and I was curious. I hate taking the buses. I hate waiting in line for the buses, I hate folding the strollers to get on the buses. I can't wait until my kids are older.

We usually have 2 trips a year, the January trip between 7 & 10 days, and August trip between 12& 14 days so an AP pays off with park admission.

We do go at times that an AP discount may be offered, but with dwindling discounts they aren't what they used to be. Also we have gotten the Premium AP to include water parks, and the merchandise discount was 20%, but now it is 10%. You get some discounts on restaurants (if you eat on a Thursday between 1:00 & 1:30:upsidedow), well, not quite that bad, but there are different restrictions on each, and it is kinda hard to keep track of them :rolleyes2

Last year we split the TIW with a friend, I forgot what the break even point was before you realized any discount. I think it was somewhere between $375?
This yeat the TIW cost went up a considerable amount to $100, from $75 :crazy2: so we'll have to re-evaluate if its still worth it.

You can upgrade your tickets at any customer service kiosk in front of the parks, or in DTD. Be sure to have photo IDs with you.

Thanks Sue! I'm not much of a waterpark person myself, I do love to swim (& love SAB),but not so much walking around all day in bathing suit. So waterpark upgrades not for me. Does the reg annual pass have a merchandise discount also?

I did not know that you can share a TIW card, it doesn't have your name on it?

Thanks for letting me know where you can do the upgrade! I was curious. :thanks:

We purchased the AP's in March of last year because we knew we'd have the trips in July and then this April. The clock doesn't start ticking on them until you activate the voucher. :goodvibes

Thanks Mousemommy! :). Here i thought once you bought AP it was activated! Where did you buy the voucher in march? Can you buy at Disney store? So do you take the voucher to the kiosk at the front of park? :thanks:

I am sure this has been asked and answered at some point but a search didn't yield results. I was wondering if HH's soda station was open in the am (before they start serving food)? Just thinking I could dash in there as we walk to Epcot, the boat dock, etc. I am assuming that is still the closest refillable mug station to the YC, is that correct? Thanks as always, BC&YC lovers!

<sigh> Well, looks like we can't make it this year to visit BC and Teena. But, I had to promise my DD that we'd definitely make a trip next year. I guess I'll just have to live vicariously through all of those who post telling us about all the fun they've had. Enjoy it you lucky rascals. ;)

Well, DH is military, so we bought ours at a local base. But, you can order AP's online through Disney and they simply send you the voucher. :goodvibes

I'm not sure when HH opens, but you can get drinks only in the am at the Ale & Compass, the little bar in the YC lobby. They also have pastries too in am.
