Just wanted to pop on and say a quick hi :wave2:

We got home on 2/24 from an AMAZING 8 day stay at BC CL. Had a truly fabulous time!!!

Don't let anyone tell you that Disney is just for little kids! My kids are 13, 16 and 18 (DS turned 18 while we were there) and this may have been our best trip yet! Such fun.

A few things we had never done before:
- Club level. It was awesome with teenagers.
- Mini-golf. All these times to WDW and we had never done it. We did Fantasia Gardens twice - both courses. It was so much fun! We just walked from the BC.
- Illuminations Cruise. This was to cap off my sons 18th bday. Very special!

Can't wait to go back ..... :goodvibes

This is great to see!
We're staying for 5 nights at YC CL (why is this the "dark side"?) followed by 5 nights at BWI CL. For us, for a family of 5, club level pays for itself by the time breakfast and a few beers are consumed :)
I can't believe you brought up mini-golf! We've never done it at Disney and it never occurred to me that it was part of my WP&M pass. But we decided it's a must-do this trip.
We loved the Illuminations Cruise the last time we did it to celebrate our daughter's 8th grade graduation and luckily, because of the disboards, was able to share it with another family.
This time the trip itself is enough - we can't really afford the college she's going to :scared: much less any add-ons!

YC is referred to as "the dark side" because of all the wood, brass, and lighting in the lobby as compared to the BC lobby. It's really just a joke between long time posters. Trust me, there are those of us that love "the dark side."

After a long conversation with CRO, I have discovered that you have to be 498 days from your check OUT day in order to book a room. I have always read that it was your check IN day. Oh well, more waiting. :(

Thanks for this...I didn't know if I had to channel my inner evil twin in order to stay there.

Completely off topic, so I apologize.....

I'm sitting at my kitchen table looking out the window at the 6+ inches that have fallen today, daydreaming about our July trip (see post above) and I got thinking about what I've been meaning to do to make our trips easier. So I purchased a SunPass transponder for the Florida toll roads. Not only will it save us money, but time also!

Boy, now that I type this out, it doesn't sound nearly as exciting. Sorry!

I also figured out we leave in 129 days! We will arrive at the BC in 130 days. Woo hoo!

Lovely! the weather forecaster just said there's no end in sight to the snow. Grrrrrrrr!

I never knew that either! I always thought it was from check in.

You remind me so much of myself - always chomping at the bit to book a trip!

A bit late, but my older son (was 3 at the time) thinks his life jacket is part of his swimsuit. We were arguing with him constantly to stop going on the big slide. So yes, they are allowed on it. He is also really short (was 36" at the time) and was allowed on. At 3 1/2 people kept asking if he was 2 and we did get funny looks from other guests, but if you tell the lifeguards it's ok they will let them go. In the end, we had to stop taking him to the pool because a guest complaining that we let him go alone caused awkward friction with the lifeguards. :confused3 I'm so glad he's grown in the past year!

Also want to add that there is no sort of age/size restriction to get in any lazy rivers. (thought I saw that question somewhere)

As I'm looking at the thread I'm pointing out the "differences" to our thread

- No post/chapter links
- First pages are so old (2002) that a lot of pictures have expired

DH gives me "that look" and says... Don't you dare take on another forum!

:lmao:

I told you! I missed your organization over there when I was trying to plan our trip to the "other side". :)

Oh my, our weatherman just commented that Chicago couldn't get a flake of snow this winter and now, it won't stop!!! Maybe another snow day tomorrow??!! :)

I can't believe its March!
Since our January trip and all the great tips from this wonderful forum; I am completely hooked on those Sunken Treasures! No more wine for me! Now when we go out, my husband has the recipe committed to memory and repeats it to the waiter to request the bartender to make it...our friends call it my Disney Happy drink and guess what....we now have 5 families wanting me to organize a Disney trip for all next January....ummm who invited them???
It will be DH's 40th so I have started talking to Magical Vacations about some help in planning for that many families for a land/sea vacation. I have a hard enough time making our families dining choices - let alone for 5 families!

So far the restaurants that have made the Sunken Treasure:
J Gilberts Steakhouse; Cheesecake Factory, Mortons, Ruths Chris, Ruby Tuesdays.

:thumbsup2

Did anyone transfer the drink recipe to this new thread?! ;) Of course, I failed to write it down!!!

Just wanted to let you know that Teena is on her way home from her visit with Jeanne and Lily in Vegas. I added a few photos to the Princess Lily Goes Live thread. You can click on the link in my signature or use the direct link below for the new pictures:

.

Thanks for posting, adorable pics. Web site was being glitchy for awhile and couldn't open. Finally it cooperated!

We live in suburban Chicago and the kids and I have a snow day! They are predicting 10 inches of snow between today and tomorrow! So what am I doing? Planning and reading and daydreaming about our July trip....imagining myself at SAB with a Sunken Treasure in my hand watching the kids play volleyball in the water! I can smell the sunscreen, hear the laughter, feel the sand-bottom pool, taste the booze, see the beautiful surroundings. Ahhhhhhh..........who would like to join me in my fantasy vacation? :)

I'll join you :rotfl: Can't wait till August! :beach:
