Just wanted to say that I'm so glad this thread exists!

Dee, you run a tight, pleasant ship to sail on.

I'm currently the person who started the "Club Level" thread, and I guess that makes me the person responsible for its upkeep, which I admit, I haven't had the time to really do, but there is a heated discussion going on concerning whether or not CL appetizers are to be used as meal replacement (I firmly believe they're NOT), and it just reminded me of how pleasant this thread is.

Just sayin...

I was reading along on that thread and when it started to get nasty I quit. Someone can ask a mod to step in and take care of it if it isn't going away on its own.

Agreed! I spend more time "lurking" around here than anywhere else! I hopped on that thread to hopefully get some advice and read some fun reports. It's silly what some argue over

ScottMC this is undoubtedly the best thread on the DIS for friendliness and civility! I follow the other thread as well and want you to know that I not only wholeheartedly agree with you but also really appreciate all you do over there.

It's easy. We accept that Y&BC is not for everyone. Negative comments are welcome. (And sometimes we even agree!)

Only limit:
1. Don't stay one night and post over and over about how awful the resort and CM's are. If you don't like the resort that's OK.

I agree! Our first stay is on it's last day now...and we loved it, but it did take awhile to get acclimated to the resort. I think if you only stay a night or 2 it would be very overwhelming.

MickeyT - you are so right! This is the friendliest thread on the boards!

Dee - well our original plan to do the whole stay at Universal/Discovery Cove/Sea World didn't last long! When we thought about being that close to Disney and not going we just couldn't do it!

New Plan - 7 nights in Disney (not sure which resort yet), 5 nights HRH, 1 night in in Savannah to do the ghost tour, and 4 nights in Hilton Head!

After years of staying (and loving CL) we found the last few years that it didn't fit our style as much as it used to. Now that the kids are older (especially the girls -14 and 16) we don't seem to use it as much as we did when they were younger.

I know BC and YC are being refurbished next year and that they are starting with CL. We might do GF next year and then come back to BC in 2015 after the refurbishment. We also had a lot of issues with mousekeeping this year at BC so maybe we need a break. Fabulous resort but we've been staying there since 2006 so maybe it's time for a little change to keep it interesting.
Thought about the Polynesian but it's supposedly undergoing major construction next year. BWI is definitely not for us, and even though DS begs for the Contemporary that is definitely not my cup of tea!

Who knows where we'll end up but I'll keep you posted for the BOG list!

I'm going to forgo most smilies- computer has been very slow past few days and it is scaring me. Could crash at any moment.

I apologize if this is a silly question . My family and I will be arriving to the BC for the first time on December 7-15 . If we are lucky enough to get magic bands when will my Disney experience notify me ? So excited to be staying at the BC I read this thread daily

I'm so excited for my first stay at BC! It's just a weekend trip, Sept 13-15, but I've wanted to stay at BC forever, it feels like. We booked back in May, planning to attend the Villains party and spend Saturday relaxing at SAB, probably going to Epcot that evening.

Dh and I will be at the Beach Club Sept, 30th to Oct. 3rd.

This will be our first Food and Wine! We will be coming over after spending the weekend at the Swan with our 2 adult ds who sadly have to go back to their college classes on Mon.

We will make sure to say Hi to you again Teena! ( me - aka the Justin Bieber in the lobby of the Beach Club spotting lady and the I cried at the Yachtsman Steakhouse on my anniv. lady!) Just look for me pushing the wheelchair!

The only things I can think of are Wishes Dessert party and something about a boat. Maybe one of the rentals would work for you?

So glad to hear all of the positive resort reports:

Home from an amazing 2 weeks stay at the Beach Club. We were a garden view room with view of cresent lake to the right, only a 2 minute walk down to the marketplace which was great for refilling drinks.

We sampled a variety of quick/counter services meals from the marketplace and all were very good, I rather liked the turkey sandwich. The staff were great at adapting the options to our requirements.

It was great being able to walk into Epcot, we did this a lot as the boys loved doing the Agent P missions and collecting the stamps in the World Showcase passports. The walk along to Hollywood early in the morning was in the main shady and cool with a nice relxing boat ride back.

Did we choose the right resort - I can say without a doubt YES. We loved the relaxed feeling in and around the resort, StormAlongBay was fabulous plus being so close to 2 main resorts was great. Never had to wait for long for tranportation around WDW to parks and other resort hotels. The valet service was great at getting taxis for our trips to SeaWorld they arrived within minutes.

We had a photoshoot in and around the resort so I am really looking forward to seeing the photos.

Ok everyone I have to say that I am sold! I have found my favorite resort. I'm not sure I could stay anywhere else ever again. I really like the YC over BC( don't hate me) I like that its quieter.

We are located pretty close to the elevators and I have gone to hard in the other end but the walk to BC is not bad at all. I was actually quite surprised at how close it is.

We are staying CL. It's really nice having the snacks , water and drinks available whenever you like. I'm not sure if I would stay CL every trip. I'm don't like I would miss it if we didn't stay CL. It the price was right ( like it was this time ) I would do it again. The hard part is my husband who is and egg/ bacon person. I am find with the offerings he needs more.

Love how close Epcot is!!! We walked there yesterday!

So this is my view right now from our balcony, going to go down to the pool in a minute. It's really not.

We went to MK this morning, attempted to go on splash mountain again (The other day we got stuck half way round) we were the next people to get on when it closed due to technical difficulties! Oh well. We decided to get the monorail to Epcot, had lunch at sunshine seasons. Stopped at HH to fill our cups but everyone was struggling to use the RFID mugs, it seems you have to get your cup in exactly the right place. I couldn't get it to work but my DBF managed.

We are at BC now 1st floor garden view with patio close to secret entrance. All is great with exception of laundry by quiet pool 3 out of 4 washers are working. Problem is only 2 of 8 dryers are operating. Parks seem to be empty enjoyed dinner at prime Time Cafe last night and cape may cafe night before was fabulous!

DD11 did surf lessons at Typhoon Lagoon yesterday. We live at the Jersey Shore were she has taken many lessons. I can say the instructors were great! Only bad things is having to be there at 645am.

Second to last day! Getting sad now. The boys are so loving SAB and it's nice we can let them be a little since they are old enough and strong swimmers. We can enjoy it too! They have not been checking our bands at all and have not asked for room keys either yet.

Off topic...for just a moment...can I say how awful the Photopass Plus system set up is with putting the ride photos on the card!?!?!?! Horrible. They need to find a better way because waiting on line while people get 20 minutes sales pitches on it when all I want is a quick bar code scan is ridiculous.

Heading to AK for a bit of EMH then SAB then Epcot!

Thanks for reporting live. Thanks for the heads up about the Photopass Plus counters. They have a similar system at the Dark Side and we encountered the same thing. We just needed a quick scan, but the Team Members were busy explaining and selling the program to others.

...from 10 days at the YC and I'm in trouble! The family LOVED it here- don't think I'll ever get them back to the moderates now!

My DS8 couldn't wait to leave the parks so that he could play volleyball in SAB everyday!

Everything from location, to the pool, to the staff were truly wonderful! Wishing I was sitting poolside with a fruity beverage in hand right now

Boy that is a subject I tread lightly on!!! I made the mistake of mentioning that I think people forget that CL is mostly for IPO help and "oh by the way, have a little appetizer and drink before dinner" not to eat 3 meals a day.....boy was that the wrong thing to say!!!!!

You're doing a great job on the thread, but remember you can't control what everyone posts. Just ask Dee!!!!
