I seen mentioned bath and body works scents that smells like the bc, can someone tell me what they are, I can't find the post. Thanks!

Does anyone know how long it's taking to get from BC to DTD on the resort bus at the mo?
We have reservations on Thursday at 6pm and wondering how long to allow or just get a taxi?
I've also heard some of the lanes being closed and driving is taking just as long?!
Thanks

We have stayed at YC and LOVEDDDDDDDD it. Next week we are staying at BC. I wanted to fax resort and request room location. I wanted to get some advice on where you think the best room location is for 5. DH, DS,9 DD,7 DS, 8 month as and me.
We can't wait. We haven't told the kids yet. I think DH AND I will be more excited then the kids

Hi,

Just this morning changed our November trip reservations from GF regular room to YC Club level. We are going for a quick short trip so we figured we would try something new and could get Club level for similar cost as GF Deluxe (non-club) room.

Any suggestions on what we should request for a room? All Club level rooms are on the 5th floor, correct?

Thanks for your help!!

Since you are probably going to be using a stroller you might want to request to be near the elevator. It would bring you out near the lobby which would be centrally located for food, pool, buses, boats and the walkway around Crescent Lake and to Epcot. You may also want to request a full balcony since only about half the rooms have a full balcony. :)

This is from the "Other Useful Info" Post (Post 14) on Page 1 of this thread:

What is that awesome smell at the Beach Club?

*snip* The scent used in the Scentair Generator is Green Clover and Aloe.

Redneck scent solutions- if you can't afford the scentair system, there are reports that certain fragrances at Bath & Body Works and Yankee Candle are good matches. Unfortunately, some of these lines have been discontinued:

BBW: Rainkissed Leaves,

Yankee Candle: Exotic Rainforest, Oceanside Retreat, Cotton Blossom

Please let us know if you have found other good substitutions.

I think the ride on the bus was about 30 minutes from BC to DTD for us in July. Plus whatever wait for the bus. Not sure if the timing is any different now.

To be on the safe side, I would be out at the bus stop around 5 and then if you get to DTD before your reservation, you will have some time to look around.

I definitely recommend taking a cab back. About $15 plus tip.

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1 of this thread.

The resort does not take faxed room requests. You need to call CRO (the main Disney reservation number) to add a room request to your reservation.

The "best room location" really depends on what your family prefers.

As Wood Nymph indicated above, if a full balcony is important, you need to request that.

As far as location- do you prefer ground floor? Higher floor? Near Elevator? Close to lobby/Stormalong Bay pool/transportation? (these are all the same request). Close to EPCOT?

Here is the post from the FAQ(Post 13) dealing with room requests:

How do I make a request on my reservation? How many requests should I make? What should I request?

You should note any requests on your reservation through Disney's CRO (Central Reservation Office) or your travel agent can add it when your trip is booked, or anytime thereafter. Requests should be made no later than 2 weeks before you will arrive at the resort.

Please remember that requests are not guaranteed.

The fewer requests you have, the more likely there will be a room available that meets your most important preference(s).

Your best bet is to request what you want in words, not room numbers. The chance that a particular room will be available during your trip is not as likely as finding a room that satisfies your room preferences. If you request a specific room, and there is someone staying in the room on the day you check in, the room assigner will have to place you in a different room. If they don't know what your priorities are, they will have trouble giving you another room that has the attributes you want.

When you arrive at the resort for checkin, you can ask before you take your keys if your requests were granted, and if not, see if there is anything available that meets your needs. Please note that you should do this through REGULAR checkin.

Online checkin is designed for grabbing your keys and going, no questions asked, so if there is a possibility you will ask for a room change, you shouldn't do this.

There may not be a room available with the request you made when you check in (e.g. full balcony, daybed, king bed). If your request is important enough that you are willing to change rooms later in the week, ask when a room will be available and see if you can arrange to switch rooms.

Requests vary because what is important to one family may be different for another family. Some popular requests are full balcony at the Beach Club, a day bed, close to lobby (or elevator or Stormalong Bay), close to Concierge Lounge (if you are staying club level) or close to EPCOT.

My goodness. I'm jealous of those of you going so soon. I just hit the 199 day mark.

Lol... I was just able to customize my Magic Bands for December! Since Buzzy and I are staying at 2 different hotels we get 2 bands (hope these bands will fit at least one of his/hers limbs)!! Now I'll have a red one and a blue one to go with my yellow and orange bands!! Just a few more trips and I could have all the colors!!

Thanks to those that were so informative on this thread.

I'm back from my trip and have been slowly unpacking my pictures. The Beach Club Villa was AWESOME and I got to briefly meet Teena in the lobby during my time there.

I'll get round to loading pictures when I get round to unloading them off the memory card; but I do have quite a few days of the holiday to get through beforehand.

natebenma - You asked me to post a link of my TR...particularly given that it was going to contain pictures of the roadtrip through the Four Corners area. The link is here.

I'm up to my first day at Disneyland; where I met Bringing Up Disney. She also visits this thread.

We arranged to catch up at DLR as we had overlapping trips there. But as we first met on this thread, I thought it appropriate to post a picture of us here on our DisMeet.

Thanks BringingUpDisney. I had a great time chatting with you! :goodvibes

Okay! I AM IN LOVE WITH THE BEACH CLUB!!!!! And so is DH. He cannot even believe the service here. Incredible! And Emily in the CL lounge....Can she move home with us? Lol. She is great. They are all so accommodating.

Of course the best part of the day was meeting the Lovely Mrs. Teena and getting to spend some time with her. She is fantastic and my DD is sleeping with the pin she traded her beside her pillow. We did take some photos but I never did take the time to learn how to upload them (baaaaa) so I will post them when I back if I figure it out. :-().

Our flight was a mess this morning but once we arrived here at BC everything has been just perfect. We spent a good chunk of the afternoon at SAB. That pool might actually be a problem because my kids do not want to leave it!!! Lol.

I was also able to turn in my PP+ voucher right in the lobby. It was quick and easy. As Dee has mentioned they are open 5-9pm.

Tonight we headed to Epcot and I didn't think the crowds were to bad at all. This MB thing with the FP+ has been AWESOME!!! It has really worked out great all day. Rode Soarin, Mission Space and Test Track with no wait because of our FP+.

Well, I think I will turn in since last night I was too excited to sleep. Let me know if anyone needs me to look for anything.

Also thank you all for the well wishes and sweet comments you have made the past few days! I love this thread and will now just have to plan another trip. Lol. Good night all.

Yay! I am so glad you love BC as much as I do! It really is my favorite place in the whole wide world! Our kids have the same problem at SAB. They refuse to get out! My son didn't even want to get it to eat dinner. Of course, when he finally decided he was ready to eat, HH had already closed! That volleyball net sucks him in every time!

Glad you got to meet Teena. Isn't she a gem?

Thanks for checking in!!!

Yahoo!!! Can't wait to try out the magic bands!

We are a family of 5. Must I request a day bed or will we automatically get one? I'd rather use my requests to ask for close to SAB, and higher floor.

See you soon!

Tricia

Are all of your family members over age 3? Families of 5 are given priority for a daybed, but it is not "guaranteed". But I believe that you must be given a room that has enough bedding for the number of people booked on your reservation. So in the unlikely situation where a room with a daybed is not available, at the very least a rollaway cot would be provided or perhaps you would be moved to another room category.

I think you are ok just including the other requests you have.

If anyone has other advice, please let us know.

Slowly, slowly, slowly catching up on the thread!

Thanks for suggestion - I now also saw another possible solution - these so-called "deluxe" rooms. What exactly are they? How many baths (1, 1.5 or 2?) How are the beds laid out? Is one a sleeper sofa, and if so, will my wife and I regret using it and giving the moms the 2 queens? Thanks!

Sorry to take more than a week to respond to this!

I think the Deluxe Rooms are just a bit larger than the regular rooms- still 1 bathroom, I believe. The rooms do sleep 5, but I don't know if that is with a pull out or daybed.

Here's all the info I have on the BC Deluxe rooms:

Beach Club Deluxe, Suites, VP and Presidential Rooms

:)

Just wanted to say that this board is Great! On this trip it was about our 5th stay at BC, it was our 1st stay at YC. We are AP holders and plan a visit to Disney at least every 6-8 wks. In fact, already have another trip booked for the first part of Dec! We try to stay in different places to make each trip different, but during F&W, we HAVE to stay at an Epcot resort! We really enjoyed our 11 nights at BC and YC. There are some differences in the two though. And in a perfect world, I would choose BC over YC. The main reason is lack of a quick service/mug refill at YC. Also, and this is kinda a biggie for me, is that the YC bus pickup/dropoff, is not covered all the way into the resort like BC is! It is only covered where you wait, so if it is raining, you WILL get wet walking uncovered into the resort. We stayed at YC some this trip because we had been really looking forward to trying it out plus the savings over BC for that part of the trip was way better. Both rooms at both resorts were SV. (I downgraded YC at the last minute from LV/WV to SV and saved $$) In both rooms, we had a daybed. At BC, we were upgraded to a woods view right by the gate that takes you to Epcot. It was ground floor and perfect. There is also laundry right at the end of this hall, so very convienent! At YC, we were 4th floor looking over the valet at the front of the resort. We really liked this a lot! It was nice and quiet. The BC is showing some wear and tear in places (the carpet and wallpaper in the hallways) so I am glad to hear that is rehab is scheduled. The YC on the otherhand looked in perfect shape everywhere we went! The carpets in the halls were Gorgeous! And I never saw any wallpaper peeling anywhere. The YC was def. a quieter resort if that makes a difference to any. The store at YC is huge, I don't see why they can't put a drink refill at one end like at BC marketplace. Putting a small cooler with some cold items and a pastry cabinet wouldn't take up much space at all. But that's just my opinion, lol! The balconies at YC are great. In all the times we have stayed at BC and not been on ground floor, which were 3 times at CL, we always had a small balcony. Used laundry at both resorts and they both worked great. Again great location for Epcot and HS!:goodvibes

Thanks so much for your comments and comparisons!!!

:goodvibes

Just got back on Friday from another amazing stay at the BC. Our room was ready when we got there. 3rd floor but roof view. And the worse part was 4 LONG hallways to get to our room. I was just happy to be there as I was not sure I was going to make this trip. My ankles were really swelling from the walking & med's so my angel Miss Teena took care of me & we got our room changed. Can I just say-first room off the elevator. :cool1: I did not care about the view or anything else & come to find out the view was better also.

Teena you rock!! We ended up buying into DVC on this trip. Did not plan to but it all came down on Wed. when we went to AK & stared talking to a CM about DVC & took the tour. The GFV are amazing!!!! My DH needed convincing & walking in to the model just blew him away!!!! So our trip is booked for next May but we WILL be in to see you Teena. Thank you again Teena for going out of your way to make sure my ankles got a rest.

Glad you had a great trip, even though your ankles were troubling you!

Congrats on your new purchase!

:cool1:

Are the refrigerators at the BC large enough to hold a gallon of milk?

:welcome:

I see your trip is in a few weeks. I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list we keep on Page 1.

:woohoo:

From the FAQ post (Post 13):

Will it fit???

Will a gallon of milk fit in the room fridge?

No, but at least one half-gallon will fit in the door and possibly more in the main compartment.

Thank you for the great info. I'm going to call and book my room tomorrow morning -- I'm going during Easter so I need a AAA discount and cannot book that online (that I know of...).

Let us know when you book!!!

:yay:

43 more days until our family trip!!! Got magic bands customized for everyone, but because we are using the military salute tickets can't make FP+ plans. No worries though, we are all going to be together for the first time in 5 years.

My youngest daughter, Suzy, will be moving here to TN in just 3 weeks!! Cannot wait to have her nearby. She has had a rough few years and needs to be near family. Now,she needs to find a job and place to live and she will be all set!!

Good morning, Yacht and Beach Fans! :sunny:

I am doing the single digit dance today! :dance3:

Goodmorning everyone!!

We're getting close - 20 days and counting....

I tried doing online check-in a few times now, but got error messages....so now I'm debating whether to do it at all! I'm still not entirely sure what our ideal room location at YC would be -- well, besides a view of the lagoon. Can I make that request?

Another question -- is there any benefit to being in a ground level room? If we put DD to bed, and then sit outside - we can more easily make drink and snack runs....but perhaps have a not-as-good view?
