Ok, its official my Fiance & I are planning our next trip to WDW :cool1:

We're going 11th-18th November which is a while away but gives us alot of time to plan/save up! We've managed to get some great deals; by booking a flight inclusive holiday we're getting free dining (but upgraded to Disney Dining Plan), an ultimate 14 day ticket for price of a 7 day ticket & a $300 gift card.

We've only been once before (Jan 2011 - our engagement trip :lovestruc) so we're still not sure which are the best places to eat etc..
Anyone have any good advice/recommendations?

Thanks
Bx

Yay for booking your trip! :)

What kind of food do you both like? Do you like Character Meals? More quiet/intimate settings? Meat-fests? Buffets/All you can eat? "Interactive" like dinner shows or restaurant gimmicks?

There are honestly soooo many choices that a hint about what you kind of things you guys enjoy would help enormously to narrow down recommendations - otherwise everyone will come along with their best places and they could all be completely different! :)

Haven't booked it yet...but we will have before 6th June! haha!

We like varied kinds of food (not seafood); O'Hanas has to be our favourite! Not too bothered about character meals as there is only the two of us. We would like maybe one or two meals in a more intimate setting..
Buffets are always good!! We enjoyed Boma in January..(wasn't a fan of the food at 1900 Park Fare but we were there with my sister and her family and as it was Cinderella we had to make a visit!)
We're quite interested to see a dinner show but not sure which one (as its two dining credits we want to choose wisely!). We looked at Mikeys Backyard BBQ but its seasonal and we're going in November so guessing it won't be on..

Hope this helps!! :goodvibes

Hee! Well close enough then- booked in your head if not in reality, LOL!

If you liked Boma's you'll probably like Tusker House - I greatly enjoyed the lunch I did there last September. There's not quite as many (numbers wise) adventurous dishes there than at Boma, but still some really nice interesting dishes available. I guess being inside a theme park they need to have a higher % of 'safe' dishes for people too tuck in to. Even though the restaurant was pretty full the buffet is well spread out so no stupid queues. My overwhelming memory of both trips to Boma was having to 'fight' other people just to fill my plate - I may have been unlucky, but grr, hehe.

Love 'Ohana but can be hard to get a reservation there (at a decent time at any rate), not quite the same with all the skewers and stuff, but Kona Cafe next door offers some really nice dishes (similar style to the Appetizers you get at 'Ohana) so might be worth considering. It also does some fab breakfast offerings - a lot of people swear by the Tonga Toast (too greasy for my tastes personally) and the Macademia Nut Pancakes are delish!

Never eaten here myself (really must fix that sometime!) but consistently hear good things about the Yachtsman Steakhouse. This is a Signature restaurant so 2 credits but it is definitely in the more 'intimate' theme and it's very rare to hear a bad report from there.

For a 1 credit but still intimate, Saana may well be a good choice, especially in light of you enjoying Boma as it's more 'interesting' cuisine. I enjoyed my visit there last year - good food, low lighting, good service and fairly quiet despite all the tables being full.

Teppan Edo is a fun restaurant where your meal is cooked in front of you at the table. You do share the table with other people but easy to just ignore them if you want :rotfl: the food is very tasty though! Great value on the dining plan too as this place is a little on the pricey side imo, and a nice 'alternative' way of dining for a change of pace :)

Hope that helps, I'm sure others will be along soon too as we do all like our food here ;)

We've looked at Tusker House and it does sound nice! Think we might give it a go there! Obviously I've only been to Boma once but I didn't have any trouble with 'fighting' over food...maybe we were lucky!

Yeah, but as its only the two of us we should be fine getting a resevation at O'Hanas; we're not bothered what time/day it is really! Probably be one of the first we book!

My sister & family went to Tepan Edo while we were there in Jan (my DF and I went to Tutto Italia) and they said it was really good!! And delicious!

Thanks for all that! Not just looking for food...if anyone can suggest something not to miss/must-do I'd love to hear it!! :)

Just been looking at the 'Spirit of Aloha' Dinner Show on AllEars and just wondering if its worth it...looks pretty good to us! We know its 2 credits from the dining plan but we're thinking of doing this one night.
Is this a good dinner show and are the alcoholic drinks 'all you can drink' as it says on the website? (not an alchoholic just find it strange as I know they're not included in regular 1 credit places)...

How exciting for you! we always book our holidays way in advance....I think most of us on here do :rotfl2: I just love the excitement of researching everything even though ive done it tons of times before,
Since your getting the DDP ill would say def do Citrocus once it is a 2 credit but soooooo worth it! I have had 2 special dinners their and they never fail!
Tusker house is another fab choice the breakfast is just to die for and plenty of diffrent choices all great!
Coral reff always feels intimate for a 1 credit and the Tank is Amazing they do great Steaks!
Le cellier!!!!! This place is so hard to grab a table at unless.....like yourself you have booked you holiday way in advance so you can do the 180 days in advance booking ressie:cool1:!!!!!! the Fillet Mignon is to die for, hubby and I have had this a few times, we are young and love nightlife and great food and this place is just fab to do before Illuminations...
Im sure you know Crystal palace is a really nice Buffet place to eat as everybody raves about it! I think its just one of those Magical places that make you feel like a child :rotfl2: as it looks Beautiful and the food is pretty decent for anytime of the day ressies,
Not sure if your up for anything a little diffrent but Germany has some brilliant flavoured food aswell as showing a great entertainment of a band and dancing! i never wanted to go here but honestly the food was out of this world and so so traditional.
Yak and Yeti at Ak is a really nice restaurent too! i think it gets overlooked but ive been at least 10 times and never had just a normal quality meal! they have always been full of flavour and cooked fresh to perfection,
Hope this has helped a little!
