2012? No Problem...but when?

Got back late yesterday afternoon.

Had a blast...with a few rough spots thrown in for good measure! We are now a family with a teenager ...again! I am not sure that I am ready for the teenager thing again, but I am sure we will all survive...mostly! LOL!~

Once I get around to downloading pictures I will update everyone on the week.

I am still working on the pictures. I had over 100 from IASW...and I hate that ride. I finally got all of them off the phone, now on to the camera!

Highlights at Disney:
Watching my Grand Princess' expression as she got to see Mickey Mouse. This trip was not supposed to have any character meets. But she almost had tears in her eyes when she saw that Mickey was meeting next door to Tony's (where we ate lunch) and so the bigger ones went to Space Mtn and we stood in line for Mickey.

She was so excited that she had to tell her Mommy and Daddy almost immediately...She got to see Mickey in his Dressing Room!

Second Highlight was the dessert party. While the desserts were standard Disney fare (and pretty good in their own right) the view of the fireworks was unbelievable! I believe I would have paid to sit there and enjoy the show even without the desserts!

Lowlights at Disney...the CROWDS leaving Magic Kingdom. We left an hour before park closed and it took over 2 hours just to leave the park!We started leaving at 10 and it was almost 1 before we got back to the room.

And this would be my husband's worst part of Disney- the tv in the room NEVER worked! We called over 4 times the first day/night. They kept trying to give us another remote. Could not make anyone understand that the tv had a short in it. You had to hit it to make it come on, and then hit again to make it go off!

Magical Part of the Disney portion of the trip - I lost (yes, I LOST) the Princess' ticket! We did not realize until after we left the park for a swim break! The concierge desk was able to determine that I had purchased her a ticket with a gift card, but could not find enough identifying info to reprint the ticket. so they GAVE her a new ticket! I was expecting to have to purchase another ticket...I was just trying to get them to let me purchase a part day ticket like they do for the conventioners...

Highlight of the Beach trip - the view! I had a million dollar view from my balcony of the beach. I got some awesome sunrise pictures.

Second Highlight - Crabby Joe's for dinner. Meal was about what you would expect from a seaside seafood place, but the atmosphere was amazing! Something about sitting out over the ocean while eating...

Lowlight of the beach portion of the trip - the room! We had booked a brand new resort with ocean views. (the bait part) and we were given a 35 year old hotel that had a coat of paint slapped on it and called a remodel. (the switch part) The only reason we stayed was because of the friendly staff.

Magical moment of the beach trip - the sunrise....hands down!

Hopefully I can get some pictures ready to post within the next couple of days...if not, someone please remind me! Now on to trip number 2- just 159 days away!

Glad you had a fun trip. Wow, a teenager!!! How fun that you got to take the grandprincess along too. Looking forward to seeing your pictures. The beach ones on FB looked gorgeous.

Welcome home!

Welcome home Nini!!!!!! Glad you had a good trip - for the most part. That is so sucky about the bait and switch - are they even allowed to do that? That's one thing I like about Disney - you get the resort you choose - or the UPGRADE you.

I can't wait to see your pictures from the trip. :)

I guess that means I need to actually finish uploading them all...huh?

I had a slight scare today...I had a dizzy attack. I have no idea what to call it other than that. I was fine one second, and then all of a sudden I had a terrible case of dizziness, sweats, nausea, complete with the world spinning.

After a couple minutes it went away, only to come back a few hours later. Since this is the first time it has ever happened, I am only slightly concerned, but I did get a doctor appointment. They seem to think it is just vertigo...so I am not too concerned, just did not enjoy that feeling!

At least it waited until we were back from Disney!

Nini

Just checking in with you, I hope you are feeling better and you didn't have any more dizzy spells.

D~

Dreaded doctor appointment is today at 11....

Have I mentioned how much I hate doctors?

Nini

I'm running late for therapy, but thought I'd update...nothing but classic vertigo...so no worries.

Trip news!

I am 99% ready to pay off our trip for December!

The money has been sitting in the checking account since January...wish it had been in the savings so we would have earned a few pennies! My daughter and her husband are going to use their Disney Visa card to pay the trip off and then we will write them a check to cover it. They are using their card for EVERYTHING (and paying it off each month) and are saving their points for their next Disney trip....

But they just upgraded to the Premiere card. So, we need to wait a few days for the new card to come in and then we get to pay off the trip!

Last night we were discussing how soon is too soon to take Miss Mia on her first trip. He had found a family chat forum somewhere on the web yesterday and was reading posts about taking kids 3 and younger to Disney. He said reading those posts made him realize that Mia will be able to have a magical experience younger than her realized!

Yes, he has drank the Kool-aide and is dragging my Disney hating daughter right along with him!

WAHOO!!!! Both for paying off your Dec trip soon... And that Princess Mia gets to have a Disney trip sooner than expected! Yay!

We love our premier card. We use it for everything and then bring the rewards card when we go away.

Oh do you want me to take lots of pictures of Sami in August and October. We just figured out by the time Sami is 1 she will have been to WDW 3 times.

THREE TIMES! WOW!

My son in law was crying while he was telling me about it last night...he rarely gets emotional...but he is really anxious to see her reaction when she sees Mickey for the first time!

I have to admit...I can't wait either!

 Yeah for having your trip ready to be paid off. And even better that your SIL is drinking the Kool-aide. :woohoo: Sounds like Mia will have lots of trips to Disney in her future (and of course Grandma has to go). We took Curtis on his first trip when he was one and those of some of our best Disney memories. He was so fun and LOVED all the characters. Wish we had brought Casey when she was younger.

(I know you weren't asking me but) Yes, lots of pictures of Sami in WDW!!! I know you will be a great example of how to enjoy Disney with a baby. Plus she will be soooooo cute on her first Disney trip.

150 days and paid in full!

Now I need to save another 2000 in case my daughter in law and son decide not to go! That is what the Free Dining costs me!

At least they have finally explained what they are waiting for. They are in the process of getting an insurance payment form my grand Princess multiple surgeries last year. If that comes in they will go to Disney...if not...nope.

I know that all parties have agreed to the payment, but unfortunately, the insurance companies will wait as long as they legally can before they make the payment. The agreement was reached in April, but no payment date was set. Legally they can wait up to 2 years.... (what is magical about 2 years I don't know, but you have 2 years to file a claim against them...so I guess they can take 2 years to decide to pay.

Come on general public free dining!

Nini

Congrats on Paid in Full and fingers crossed for the insurance payment.

Awesome that u are paid in full. I hope that fd is releases for u, so you don't have to be worried about coming up with the remainder.

Yeah! I hope free dining is released for the general public soon so you don't have to spend the extra money.

I do hope the insurance payment comes soon. How frustrating for your DS and daughter-in-law.

Not a lot of new stuff to report.

I have decided I want to see the Candle light Processional this trip...but no one else does. So on one of our 5 (that's right...FIVE!) Epcot nights, I will attempt to walk up to get a spot to sit and listen to the show. Hubby will take the kids and go off to ride something. (or perhaps they will go watch that blasted show at the American Pavilion...they LOVE that thing and see it multiple times each trip! Hubby has even recorded the whole thing!)

That way I will get to see the CP and not have to deal with two kids and a husband that aren't interested. When I tried to describe it to Mr D...his response was something along the lines of I was making him go to church and be quiet for no good reason! So it was pretty sure that it was not going to work for him!

My niece finally had her new daughter! I am so excited! She has a 14 year old daughter, and this one was a surprise. Complete and total! As soon as she found out it was a girl she had me make her coming home from the hospital outfit (even though she was born at home) I also made a big sister shirt for Celeste. Of course they were Minnie Mouse!

Mommy posted a picture on FB of baby Cora-Marie, but I am holding out for a picture of both girls together. Funny... as I was typing that I realized she is no blood relation to me... This is my step sister's grand daughter. Even though my dad is no longer married to my step mother (he remarried after her death) I always have and always will consider them my 'real' family...I do not claim my bio brother or sister!

Anyway...21 weeks to go!
