2012? No Problem...but when?

I am sure you will be able to make it to CP once - I sure hope so anyways. LOL

I did see pictures of your new niece - and she is just precious! Congratulations!

D~

I saw the picture you posted of Cora-Marie and she is so sweet. Such a beautiful name too.

I like your plan for the CP. I have to say that this is one of our family's favorite memories from our Dec trip. I know the people around us were not pleased because Curtis (who was 3 at the time) was pretty active and chatty while we were waiting for the show to start (not running around the theater, just walking in front of our seats). I figured he would enjoy the show and if he was a distraction I was planning on taking him out but he LOVED it. He was the perfect audience member and stayed awake for the whole show. I think you will really enjoy yourself. Mr. D would probably like it too but it will be nice for you to be able to watch the show without any distractions. Maybe they can sneak a peek of the show from behind the theater when you are watching to see if it is something they want to do next time.

Thanks all... my niece is over the moon about the little one...so is her big sister.
As Paul Harvey used to say...now for the rest of the story...

About five or six years ago she had an ectopic pregnancy. She had a partial hysterectomy. They said she would NEVER have another child because the one ovary she had left was non working! Celeste was destined to be an only child. Not!

During this pregnancy, she almost lost little Cora-Marie several times. The doctors did not expect her to make it. When she decided to have a home birth, the doctors (and midwife) warned her that the prospect of a healthy baby in the end was very slim. Her attitude was that if she lost the baby she would rather it happen at home than in a big impersonal hospital. So they went for it. She stopped allowing them to do scans and said as long as she felt the baby move she was going to continue her way.

With the baby being late there were concerns for Mom's health...

Miss Cora-Marie had her very first pediatric check up and the doctors were very surprised that there are zero complications or problems! She is a perfectly happy and healthy baby. She is about an 8 pounder...they did not think to weigh her until her first ped appt!

We are all happy and relieved that the outcome was even better than we had hoped!

+++++++++++++++

Now for trip news.

My daughter in law was upset that they were not going to be able to do the Wishes Dessert Party this trip. Mainly because we only go to Magic Kingdom on a day when the Christmas Party is that night...which means unless we are going to the party there is nothing happening at night in Magic Kingdom for us.

I played around with the schedule to see if we could fit it in for them...and found two options that would work. I sent them the email...and expected them to be excited.

Instead, I was told they would not be doing the dessert party after all. No explanation.

I am assuming this is because they are pretty sure they will not be going, but just don't want to come out and say it. The Grand Princess has asked if she can go with us again, because her mommy and daddy are not going to go.

With each day that passes I am getting more and more sure that I need Free Dining to be offered for the general public! In the meantime, I have started a contingency fund to help pay the free dining portion if it doesn't come through.

Although, we have decided that after this trip we will have zero trips with other members of the family again... too stressful. We have toured together for the past 5 years... and this particular portion of the family always cause some sort of drama and grief...

So...next year will be our first Disney trip with only the 4 of us and one ofo them will be a high schooler!

What a little miracle Cora-Marie is... Such an inspiring story!

I am sorry about all the family drama concerning the trip... I sure hope that FD is offered for the public, so you don't have to worry about it.

D~

I am so happy about your Grand Niece I remember you telling a bit about her mom and I can so relate.

Nini - I totally understand wanting a drama free vacation. I have a niece who keeps asking to come with us and I keep ignoring her because her parents could take her. Also the age difference between her and C is now at awkward as C is almost 12 and she is 8.

Last night I had a special project I am working on, so my Son in law came over to swim with the kids and keep them out of my hair for a while. While he was here he needed me to book a room for him. We had to use his Disney Visa to pay for it, and use his rewards company for his hotel rewards.

This is when I discovered that he had officially drank the Kool Aid!

He had originally been saying there was no need to take the baby to Disney until they were 3. Then last month, he changed his mind to maybe 2 was a good age to first take them to Disney. Now he is thinking next December (18 months) is a good time.

He was looking on his Disney Visa rewards and said he should have enough points to be able to pay at least half their trip next year. Then he looked at his Marriott points&he thinks he MIGHT have enough points for a trip to Disney (staying off property) this December!

Love it!

I guess all that kool aid you have been serving tastes good.

I have my fingers crossed that they will release the free dining for your dates. I think they will!

Oh Gosh he is just adorable, I think this December is the perfect time :)

This is so awesome!!! Love that he drank the koolaid!

I have been working on a super secret special big project for a good friend for a while now. (ok not really a while, just this past week is actual work, the previous couple of weeks has been more planning!)

Basically it is a ginormous quilt.

All I have to do is use my long arm to quilt it. Someone else will do the binding for me. Simple. Right?

Not so much.

Quilting for other people is very stressful. Quilting for myself, or for gifts is no big deal. Most of what I do is baby quilts. A couple hours and the quilting is done. The binding is the hardest part.

This one has been 'commissioned' by a group of friends as a gift to someone. They are all people who sew and quilt. They are all my online friends. There is considerable pressure to get it done well.

Of course I stress out about it way too much, and once I dove into it it actually started turning out pretty nice.

Until yesterday morning.

When I discovered I had put the latest bobbin in wrong. Which messed up the tension horribly!!

In long arm quilting, it takes about an hour to rip out a couple minutes of work. I have at least 5 hours of quilting that needs to come out. I figure this should take me at least a year to rip out!

Yesterday morning I had hoped to work late last night and all day today to try and get it ready for the binding ! RRRRRIP IT! RRRRRIP IT! RRRRRRRRIP IT!

'Hopefully' this will work!

Well, since it worked, this is my niece's two daughters. The older one is Celeste and the younger is Cora-Marie Jasmine. Our little surprise miracle baby. They are wearing their 'home from the hospital' outfits for a home birth!

Nini

I am so sorry Nini that you have to rip out so much quilting. I wish I lived closer so I could help you.

And the girls are just precious!!! I love their outfits!!! Congratulations again!

Thank you for sharing. Love the picture.

Hope the quilt doesn't cause you too many more problems. You are very generous to offer to do the quilting. I do live close but I will not offer to help since I know I would just make it worse ;) (hope that doesn't sound mean but I have a feeling I would not be able to help and I actually never thought of it, if you think you could use my services just let me know). Keep calm, I'm sure it is great. I have a feeling everyone would understand if you are behind schedule. :flower3:

I love seeing Celeste holding Cora-Marie. They are adorable in their matching shirts, love the little Minnie heads.

Sorry I didn't grab any posts this time. I have just a minute while I gobble my lunch.

For those who don't know, Mr D decided to put some beads in his ear. We had a horrible experience at the ER (where they would do nothing) and now have an appointment with the ENT on Wednesday afternoon.

He is running a slight fever (very slight) and is complaining that both ears are bothering him. He says everything sounds like it is underwater.

He is not allowed to get in the pool until they come out. The problem is, they will probably have to put him to sleep to take them out.

Today we had the kids pediatric check ups...the kind that last for 2 hours! Since Mr D had way too much stimulation at the appointment (including three shots) we have to do something to calm him down so he can rest.

Since we also have an official diagnosis of obese for him and overweight for Miss B (and we already knew I was overweight!) and since we have less than 20 weeks until we leave for Disney, we are going to take a walk around the block. Afterwards I will probably be holding him trying to get him to rest.

Bottom line...probably no quilting for me today! I did manage to get all the seams ripped over the weekend, but it is still not stitching right. This means the tension is still off, so it shouldn't take more than 45 minutes to fix that. So...I will be yet another day behind!

If I did not have a self imposed deadline (end of this month) I am positive I would not be having this problem!

I used to do them... I had sooo many rewards, as I had never redeemed any of them, and we own all of the movies. :( As I was cleaning out my email box a couple years ago, I had an email from DMR that I'd missed - telling me I had to log into my account or lose all my points. So, I logged in to find all of them gone and I had missed my deadline by 2 days. I was so angry that I haven't been back since. :(

So, I hope someone gets to take advantage of this - it's a good deal. :thumbsup2

D~

Hope Mr D is doing ok and got some rest after his appointment.

Cancel your deadline and your machine will cooperate :)

Just got back from Mr D's appointment with the ENT.

The beads are lodged in pretty tight. At least one of them is touching the ear drum. While the doctor had a cute little vacuum it made too much noise (and noise is a negative stresser for him). He attempted to use an instrument to get one out, but it was painful, so he had to stop

Bottom line is we will have sedation sometime next week. We have been talking about how an iv goes in and what they will do...he is not happy about the iv but decided he would let them do it if we promised to take him out to eat afterwards.

The actual procedure should only take about 10 to 15 minutes, but the time to sedate him and recovery will make it more like an hour or two.

Now we have to wait until the state approves the procedure. So far no pain or problems and no fever (which is unusual) so we are still going with this plan. If he starts with a fever, then we have to go to the Children's hospital so they can do it as an emergency.

Looking forward to therapy tomorrow! I get to take Princess Mia with us!!!!
