2012? No Problem...but when?

...smells like Disney to me. That is a good ritual and one that will keep you clean.

A few questions:
1. are you closing your shop forever? or just for a break?
2. are you leaving at your normal EARLY time for your June trip.

I was thinking about your trip today and how Mr. D will do in the adult wheelchair on this trip. (OK, I have no idea why this thought came into my head but it did).

It must be nice to have all your meds back. It is just crazy that you could not get a renewal for a medication that was clearly working for you. :confused3

I know! Three in one day!

I am bored and wanting to speed the time up to Disney! So I thought I'd post a bit on the progress today. I started packing! I am about 2 months behind on getting started, but I actually started!

Also, today I started another Disney ritual. But if I tell you about it you have to promise not to laugh!

Several years ago I read a tip that someone would buy a certain scent at some place like Bath and Bodyworks before a trip. It would be the signature scent of that trip to Disney. I liked that idea and have used a modified idea ever since.

I collect all the Disney toiletries ... we never use them there, but we do use them at home whenever we need a Disney pick me up. Unfortunately, they all have switched over to the H2O stuff...and I never ever even took the stuff out of the bags we brought them home in from the last trip.

I pulled them out a day or so ago and realized they aren't that bad...a light citrusy scent. In the past, I would buy a new scent about 2 months before we left for Disney...and use it once or twice a week until we left and then exclusively while at Disney. Then, every once in a while I would use it at home. (sort of a mental thing)

Today, I decided that the H2O scent would be my Disney scent this year. (now, watch them change it before we get there! LOL!)

This morning I used the shower gel and the body wash, as well as the conditioner. I will use it each Sunday until we leave for our short trip. And then, hopefully, I will use the stuff they leave in the rooms while we are there...

I know...probably more info than you ever wanted about some of my hygiene rituals... but it is Disney...and it is one of the ways I get ready for Disney!

Only 21 days, 8 and a half hours until we leave!

Nini

I do not think this is funny at all... I totally get it.

On our very first trip to Disney - I had just purchased a new cream for my hair... Even to this day - when ever I put it in my hair, it makes me think of Disney and our first magical days. :lovestruc Because my style is different now, I rarely use the cream - but I still take the cap off occasionally to smell.

Personally - I wear only Moonlight Path and Country Chic from Bath and Body works - so when ever we go, I just bring a travel size of one of those scents... If only BBW made a Dole Whip scent. ::yes::

I kind of like your idea of a new scent though... :scratchin

I am closing my shop for the foreseeable future. It looks like GA will follow the lead of the federal government on the internet tax issue...meaning I would have to keep up with all taxes codes of all states, and pay sales tax to all states...and possibly be audited by any state that wanted to.

Originally, it was only going to apply to those places that had more than 10 employees or did sales in excess of $100,000 per year. (which I feel is fair) But I have zero employees and made a profit of only $400 last year! Although, if you consider that I now owe more than $500 in back penalties (even though they agree I owed no taxes) I guess I didn't make a profit after all!

I'm guessing I will still do gifts and such...but no more custom orders.

In answer to your second question...OF COURSE! It is the best way to keep the kids asleep! We were military for 20 years. We traveled cross country to visit grand parents every summer. We learned the best way to travel was at night! Since hubby works nights most of the time, he has no problem staying up all night...so it is a win/win for us.

As for Mr D and the wheelchair...that is the one major worry spot for me! I think it might work ok on our December trip, but in June with no shade, I see lots and lots of problems. He doesn't do well in heat anyway... so this is going to be a major problem for us. I am going to get them to put an additional stamp on his GAC to not wait in sun... and he is going to have a hat (not sure if he will wear it, but he will have one)

The whole thing with my meds was mostly my own fault. My doctor is of Indian descent and does not believe women have a right to an opinion...and I am very opinionated... I actually contradicted him three or four times in our short appointment...so I imagine he wasn't very happy with me...

But I love my new doctor...she is very easy to deal with, and she caught on really quick that she was still in medical school when I was in the clinical trials of the medication in question...and knew what I was talking about (at least about that...)

Hmm...evidently I didn't grab D~'s comment...

Hmmm...Dole whip scent...they actually do have a pineapple scent... LOL!

We are watching this closely in MN too... If it passes, I am not sure what I am going to do???

I try not to be a worry wart...but this does scare me.

As long as Amazon was in it to win it I wasn't too worried. Now that Amazon has reached an agreement and has 'local' warehouses the playing field has changed. I agree that the big online retailers had an unfair advantage...and thought the 10 employee/$100,000 in sales per year was a good compromise. Once Amazon pulled out they took away the protection for the small business owner.

True, GA has said I do not have to collect taxes in other states...YET... but I am expected to start collecting in January...they are hoping that the other states will feel a reciprocal deal is in their best interests and give GA their share of the pie...even though the law probably won't be changed for another year or so...

I still am upset that the only reason they 'caught' me is because I played fair and reported my earnings on my income tax! Following the rules got me in trouble...but as long as you don't have insurance, pay taxes, get a business license...they don't care!

OK, off my soapbox! (as you can see I am very passionate about this .... and what you didn't see was the page after page of my rant that I deleted before I posted!)

On today's agenda...since daddy is working and the Princess wil be with her mom and dad today... I am going to try and get the old machine to do a half way decent button hole so I can get this dress finished! Then on to my last bag order....and my shop will be officially closed!

Then tomorrow is our big therapy day, so Wednesday, we will take the 2 hour drive to get my machine fixed...at least it is still under warranty!

My plans are that by Friday, both orders will be out the door! Then I have a baby quilt for one of Mr D's doctors to do, finish my grand daughter's second quilt (she still doesn't have a nick name yet!!!) Make all three girls a dress for father's day and then...get started on our shirts for December!

Guess I better get started!

HOpe you are able to get everything...

I agree - BoG will be the hardest one... When I did ours, I made sure to make our BoG ADRs for my last MK day - which ended up being 180+9 (I think), and even then, there was only one open dinner reservation... It turned out to be a pretty good time (4:55), but I was surprised.

The other plans sound marvelous! I cannot believe it's ADR time for your Dec trip already...

My brand new sewing machine decided it did not love me anymore, so I had to take it for a spa treatment. It is about an hour and 45 minutes away, so I was very glad that I made the round trip in a little over 3 hours.

It 'should' be under warranty since it is only 4 months old, but they tried to tell me that since I was using Coats and Clark thread it would void the warranty! I looked shocked...and told her I had read the entire warranty through and through and found NOTHING about what types and brands of thread I could and could not use! The response I got was "well, it SHOULD!"

Anyway!

He said he was really behind because of the holiday (which I have a problem with people using that as an excuse...it is not as if the holiday snuck up on you! It comes every single year. The truth is you either plan for it or you don't...but the holiday coming is NOT what caused you to get behind!) it would be at least a week before he could even look at it!

I guess I have no more excuses...I need to start working on our shirts for Disney... there is no more orders I can work on...

...unless, of course, if the pool pump replacement comes in today...

Nini

On the surface...this appears to have nothing to do with our Disney trip. In reality is IS the Disney trip!

I forgot that today was Friday! It is the day I take my injection. This is amazing because I have it marked in my calendar so I will plan on it. I am starting my second round of injections. All of them up until now have done a slight bit of good...and I can tell when it is time for my next injection based on how I feel.

I do not feel bad.

That is an amazing statement for me. My pain has been under control to the point that I am not counting down the hours until my next injection. as I opened the box for this round it dawned on me...I get to have fun at Disney! In two short weeks I get to enjoy my one day at Disney (reasonably well.) Of course, knowing that I get to relax at the beach for 3 days after the walking at Disney will be helping me through it... but the long term meaning is that the trip in December is ON!

I was having serious doubts that we were going to get to go. I know I did not post it here...but if the pain stayed the way it had been for the previous few months, I was going to have to either cancel the December trip or resign myself to getting an ACV. With only those 2 options we had decided we would cancel the trip. With DS being in a wheelchair it would be too much to deal with... he has serious issues when I am sick...so I can only imagine how it would create havoc on our trip.

This June trip was sort of a try it out to see how mom feels type of trip. Which is the real reason my husband agreed to it and why he insisted on going with us.

So this is a big thanks to modern medical technology; my doctor, Dr Suzanne Thomas; the wonderful people who make Enbrel; and anyone that had a hand in me getting my meds back!

Now that I have ran my mouth sufficiently...time to go take my injection...and I might even color the gray in my hair today! (How's that for a step forward? ) LOL

My oldest daughter is a loving, caring, sweet, smart individual. She strives to see the good in all people. She will give her last dollar to a stranger if she thought they needed it.

I have never heard her raise her voice to anyone in her adult life (in her teen years it was a different story...she does have two older brothers after all!) She is very capable and a hard worker. When she worked for the city, she created a new bookkeeping system. This system to track the city business licenses save the city a multi million dollar lawsuit. When she left to become a mom they begged her to stay. If she were to walk back in today they would welcome her with open arms. (they actually had to create a whole department to take over her job duties. )

She worked through high school and college as a CNA. Yes, she earned her license in high school so she could help people. She worked in a hospice. She was upset at the way her grandfather was treated when he was in hospice care at the end of his life and felt even if they could not express how they felt they deserved dignity in the end days!

She has always excelled at everything she does. She does nothing half way.

Her inlaws are strange. They complain about everything. They are judgmental. They are condescending. They treat my 30 year old daughter as if she were two.

My daughter just had a baby. A beautiful baby girl. She is the light of our lives. She was premature. She has a few health issues that are associated with being 4 weeks premature. She will grow out of them (and has already started that process) One of her problems is she does not suck very well. Because of this she lost a lot of weight after birth. The pediatricians and lactation specialists have been working on a plan that suits Amelia (the baby) best. It is hard on mom and dad...but Amelia is thriving. She gained 10 ounces this past week! The pediatrician was beyond happy. She was hoping for 3 to 4 ounces.

Part of this involves more frequent shorter nursings. Because she is tiny (and does not have a fully developed digestive system) she can only hold an ounce or two at a time. So they actually have to wake her up every 3 hours to feed her.

They also have to wake her up during the day to keep her active. Miss Amelia does not yet realize she should wake up and see the world. The pediatrician is concerned about this slightly. So Mom has to keep a chart of her wake and sleep times. She has a minimum of awake times for each three hours of time period through out the day.

Her inlaws are not used to dealing with babies. The last baby in the family was 19 years ago.

They are of the opinion that a sleeping baby should never be woken for any reason. They are of the opinion that all babies should be kept hot. They are of the opinion that all babies are better off being bottle fed. They are of the opinion that cloth diapering is stupid. (and gross and yucky)

They use the fact that Miss Amelia has lost 2 pounds since birth as proof of their theories about feedings. They use the fact that her BMs are watery as proof that she is 'sick'. And let's not forget the fact that she is constantly sneezing (another aspect of being premature according to her pediatrician).

My daughter just called me...she is in tears. Her husband left with his nephew (the 19 year old) to go to the store, and her inlaws are ganging up on her...that would be mother in law, father in law, and sister in law...brother in law could care less!

They took the baby from mom because they are leaving today an haven't gotten to spend time with her... Miss Amelia is screaming because it is feeding time and she has a messy diaper on. My daughter had to get the baby and lock herself in the bedroom.

Luckily her inlaws live out of state. So she does have some control over how often they visit. I told her it will get easier with each visit. She said she hopes so....otherwise she would have to have Amelia visit her in jail....

I so want to go over and be all mama bear on them... but am trying to be the adult here...I mean...Miss Amelia deserves to have at least one adult grand parent...right?

Nini

Oh poor thing. I formula fed C and J and I haven't decided what to do with this one yet, I believe it is a personal choice. I remember taking C to the ped for one of her first visits and she pooped this watery bubble laden liquid my ped looked at it and said she was lactose intolerant and switched her formula.

I would let her go nuts in them and blame the hormones. I am trying to find a nice way to tell people do not come visit me in the hospital. I so don't want to entertain my BILs after a c-section and having my tubes tied.

PSA! The Disney Dining System is not working right today...oh wait, that isn't anything new... It will only make those reservations that do not need a credit card hold...so nothing important can be made online!

So two and a half hours after I started, I managed to get everything I wanted on the day I wanted if not the time I wanted.

Here is how it is shaping up:

Arrival Day Nov 30 CS at Animal Kingdom

Sun Dec 1 Coral Reef at 6:50pm

Mon Dec 2 Mama Melrose at 6:20pm

Tues Dec 3 Tony's at 6:25pm

Wed Dec 4 Akershus at 6:55pm

Thur Dec 5 Chef Mickey's at 8:50am
Boma at 6:20pm

Fri Dec 6 Garden Grill at 6:15pm

Sat Dec 7 Biergarten at 6:30pm

Sun Dec 8 Be Our Guest at 6:35pm

Times are not ideal, and there is still some fine tuning to do (like after the Fantasmic! Package is released, and maybe the CP packages) But we will take it!

Yesterday was devoted almost entirely to the final shopping for our 'almost free' Disney / Beach birthday trip!

Came home to put the goodies we bought into the luggage and added a few more things from around the house. As of right now 99% of stuff is packed.

I packed my flat iron.

Then I realized I must not be planning on taking a shower and/or washing my hair before we go.

My son packed his new toothbrush...

He is not planning on brushing his teeth before we go....

At this rate, we are going to be some smelly people before we leave!

I also got some new shoes...I know a lot of you rave about your Keens...well these are sort of like Keens (at least the ones I have seen pictures of) They are Khombu... the Aquasoles.

I got a pair last year, And Mr Max loved them so much he chewed out the elastic ties on one of them. (although if they are elastic they don't really 'tie') The night after I bought them... and, yes, he is still alive!

Anyway, I wore them 'plumb out'! I loved them (hated the color) they were comfortable and great for in the yard during the heavy dew we get here...

So yesterday at the PX in Augusta, I found another pair! And they were in a light blue...a color I mush prefer to the neon orange of last year's pair! So I stuck (or snuck) them into the cart.... last year I paid over $60 for them, and knew that was going to stretch my budget a bit more than I had wanted...but figured I really needed them... They were only $35! They weren't even enough for my husband to notice that they were added....so HE paid for them...SCORE!

Today is a very momentous day!
#1 If the weather holds out, we are getting in the pool! The water is still COLD, but since we leave in a week, I really need to get Mr D in there to refresh his swimming knowledge! I admit, I dangled my toes in the water on Thursday...but that was it...then it started raining...

#2 I get to babysit Princess Mia today! It is her Mommy and Daddy's sixth anniversary, and they are actually going out to dinner without her...I know hard to believe! She is 5 and a half weeks old and they are already 'dumping' her off! LOL!

Of course her mommy is still trying to come up with reasons why they should take her with them...and made daddy agree to only dinner, no movie...no shopping...only one hour! LOL But I get to be her first babysitter without mommy and/or daddy being in the same building! LOL!

Have fun!!!

D~

Last week, I typed up a really nice post and promptly lost it! I was so mad I decided not to redo it. It was very insightful, clever and most important... of course now I have no clue what it was or even what it was about!

So I will forget about it and go on with a new idea.

In exactly 36 hours from this moment..we will be leaving for Disney. That means only one more sleep...and a short nap.... before we go. The kids and I just spent am enjoyable hour in the pool and now it is back to packing and planning and stressing...

I have no idea why on earth this trip is stressing me out so much. I have been over 10 times...and this is just a short trip. But for some reason it has me stressed more than if it were a long 14 day trip.

Our current plans call for...

Tomorrow:
Church
Lunch
Short visit with all the kids and Grand daughters
Come home for Dad to take a nap. (kids too if I am lucky!)
I will finish up the packing and start to load the car.
Dad (and kids will get up from nap (aren't you glad I don't go in to too much detail!) and get ready for evening services.
After services we will go out for dinner (I do not want to have to do dishes tonight!)
Dada will proceed to go to bed (hopefully) and the kids and I will settle down for the new Disney movies..first will be Oz, then Bridge to Terabithia.
Sometime around 2am, Dad will get up and every one will start getting their showers and getting dressed.

Monday
We will leave the house at 3 am.
The kids will promptly go to sleep (probably even before we leave the drive way)
We will drive until we reach Ocala (which should be around 9am) and we will stop at Cracker Barrel for breakfast.
Back on the road around 10 ish and we will pop in a movie for the kids.
At this point we have less than an hour and a half before we reach Disney!

We have our check in scheduled for around 11 to 11:30. After check in at Coronado Springs Resort, we will either have a pool day or visit Downtown Disney. We plan on dinner at Earl of Sandwich. We plan on an early bedtime tonight...since we have all been up way too long!

Tuesday
Up bright and early in order to leave the room by 8.
First on the agenda is to get both the Princess and Mr D a GAC. (while I know we will only need one...in case we split up I want to be covered) This will be Mr D's first trip in an wheelchair...so I am a little apprehensive as to how he will do.
After rope drop we plan on heading to Fantasyland so we can ride Ariel, then head to Pooh, Peter Pan, IASW and Haunted Mansion . The off to Pirates, Splash and Thunder. I will be sitting in a nice shaded spot while they are riding those two...my neck will not let me ride them!
Then we head back to Main Street for lunch at Tony's at 12:45. After lunch we will hit Buzz and Space and then take a break.

Sound good so far?

The the problem comes in.

We originally had planned on a CS lunch and Tony's for dinner. Once we were able to get the Dessert party we decided to change our big meal to lunch.

Miss B wants to be able to ride Splash, Thunder and Barnstormer at night. There are two MSEPs tonight. I had planned on viewing the second one. Since it is not going to be getting dark until 8:30 ish there is no way we will be able to do all the things she wants to after dark.

At some point...not sure when... we will head back to the park... we have the dessert party at 9.

We will need to eat something...somewhere that night... and we want to get in a few rides.

Wednesday
We will leave Disney sometime around 11 and drive to Daytona Beach. Check in there is at 3 (and they do not allow early check ins!)

The rest of the trip is still totally up in the air. We know we are staying in Daytona until Saturday morning and then driving back home...but we have no actual plans.

So unlike me! I plan everything... Since we are staying right on the beach, I plan on sitting at the beach and reading...of course, Miss B said that would be boring...she wants to go some where and do something!

I guess I had better get back to the packing...I probably should even get the house cleaned p a bit...

Nini

This sounds so awesome! I wish I lived close enough to drive - it sure would be so much cheaper for us. :)

I cannot wait to follow along on FB... Safe travels my friend. (((Hugs)))

D~

I am so excited about your trip. You are going to have a fabulous time.

Hope Miss B enjoys her birthday trip! I know you guys will have a great time at Disney and hope you get to relax at the beach.

I guess I didn't realize that your grandprincess was joining you guys for this trip. I remember you mentioning the possibility. Is this her makeup beach trip too?

Save travels and enjoy.:cool1:

LOL...up until about an hour ago we were not 100% sure she was going! Her mom and dad have not paid for anything yet! (they have to pay for her tickets and souvenirs and half the food. We pay for the rest) Right now I am waiting for them to drop off her luggage. We have the stroller finally (it just arrived yesterday...they were getting a little worried. ) But I can't plan the packing of the van unless I know what size her luggage is. This is going to be a tight fit!

The great news is, I was able to have everything finished packed and waiting by the door with in 20 minutes. I prepack everything and have lists every where...so it was really easy to assemble everything and zip it up. My dining room looks so bare now! The kids said I should take a picture of it...they don't remember ever seeing it so empty! LOL

Less than eleven hours to go...the kids are sleeping and Hubby is running last minute errands before he goes to take his nap! I am starting to get sleepy...just because I know every one is a sleep! LOL

Now just about time to pack up the laptop....

Nini:yay::yay::yay::dance3::cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana:

I am soooo excited for you!!! That final day is just the BEST day!!!! All of the anticipation done building and it is here!!! Safe travels!
