2012? No Problem...but when?

Your plans sound great. Your Epcot day sounds like it will be very enjoyable and a relaxing way to see the park. HS sounds like fun too. The Osbourne lights are my DHs absolute favorite thing about DW. I am so excited you guys are going to do the Christmas Party and I love Cinderella's castle all lit up for Christmas.

I'm so glad that Disney has the option for the no crowd waiting area. It does seem that the people in those areas are waiting longer then the regular lines. I hope the Grandprincess does well with her foot. I have a feeling it will be hard for you guys to keep her off her foot but hopefully having a GAC will allow them to keep her in the stroller.

Today we had a WalMart trip to get a few things I had forgotten for the trip... it was next to impossible to keep her from walking all over the place...I see a slight problem keeping her in the stroller at Disney!

Oddly enough, her surgeon will be at Disney the same time we are...so we have her number if there is a problem...

Love all your plans so far. We love our GAC.

The only way we could ever do Disney!
These plans sound great Nini!

And thank you for explaining the GAC card a little bit. I have already determined that if I can ever get Josh to go back to WDW, I am going to see if he qualifies. I am not sure - but I think if he could avoid the crowded lines like that, he would actually enjoy WDW? But I doubt I will ever get him back.

I love that you can tour however works best for you at WDW. :)

D~

The GAC is for hidden disabilities... I think it would work great for Josh!

I have to tell a story about our first trip to Disney after the accident...I may have already told you , but I am not going back to read the beginning, so if I di...let's pretend you are hearing this for the first time! LOL!

Mr D was having terrible meltdowns for no reason at all. He had just started having them so we were not 100% sure in what we were doing to handle them. The doctors were running tests, but said it could be a million different things causing them, and it was too soon to tell what the triggers were.

He would get really violent during this time. Violent to himself and others. The only way to control him was to sit and hold him, basket style, until it went away. (luckily he was small then!) We were leaving Magic Kingdom one day and right on Main Street he started a gigantic melt down. Screaming, yelling, thrashing, hitting, punching...it was a really bad one.

I grabbed him and tried to calm him down. He ended up dragging me to the center...I sat on a step and put him in the basket hold and held him talking softly until he calmed down. I was scared out of my mind that some one was going to report me for child abuse...because it did look like I was hurting him. I was a white middle age woman holding a screaming black toddler in a way he could not move... did I forget to add he was screaming for momma?

Of course, my husband and Miss B walked off in a different direction...so they were no help!

After it was over, I started to get concerned that NO ONE tried to intervene. I had thought Disney was a safe place, but no one tried to stop me from possibly kidnapping a child (even though he was mine).

I later found out that I was on at least one Disney camera the whole time. That there were several people in plain clothes communicating with each other during the whole episode.

This is when we found out about the GAC...and things have been much smoother since!

Today is my oldest baby’s actual birthday. He will be 35. It is also a fairly easy day for us. Since we have been having a few late nights, we are taking it a bit easier today. Animal Kingdom.

When my two youngest first started going to Disney, this was their favorite park. We would go here for a few hours almost every single day! Oddly, they did NOT like to go to zoos, but they loved to look at the animals here. Now, it is their least favorite park. It makes me a bit sad to see how they are growing up.

I still love the safari (one of my all time favorites) and I have to bribe them to go on it! They will ride the Yeti at least a dozen times and then be ready to leave.

I have rode Expedition Everest one time. That was enough for me! It was Mr D’s first time riding. He was so excited that he was tall enough… he sat with me. Let me just say that the height requirements are there for a reason…and they are just a suggestion… Just because he was TALL enough, he should not have ridden it! He was so tiny (read skinny!) that the restraint system did not work on him. He slipped down in the seat as soon as we got started. By the time we went into the final drop, I was holding on to him for dear life (literally!!) The restraint bar was riding on him just below his neck…barely on his chest. When we stopped, the CM started yelling at us that I should not have let him try to climb out! After my hysterical screaming at the CM …he figured out he was falling OUT of the ride.

I have to say, after that the CM was MUCH nicer! (Even if he did have to fill out an incident report!) I am not sure who was shaking more…me, Mr D, or the CM!

Of course, my thrill junkie rode again the following year…

In all our trips, I still have not seen any of the shows here. Since there is a ery good chance that Festival of the Lion King won’t be there next trip, I am going to try and get in there…even if the kids don’t want to go!

My favorite ride here used to be Dinosaur. I c an never understand how people say it scares them. It is not like it is different each time you ride…the dinosaur jumps out at exactly the same time each ride. It never changes…how on earth can it scare you after the first ride? Anyway, since my neck surgery, I can’t ride it anymore, so I sit and people watch while ever one else rides. Well, everyone except Miss B. It SCARES her!

For dinner tonight, we have a 7pm ADR at Boma. This has remained one of our favorite places on property to eat. After dinner, we will probably do a bit of animal watching and then head back to the room for a roaring night of tv and snacks…while I try to sleep! LOL!

My DS and his crew will spend the day at Magic Kingdom and then heading over to Epcot for dinner at Marrakesh.

Break Day

This day is called Break Day, because we are not going to go to a park…but it will probably end up being one of our busiest days!

First, it is laundry day. My husband is in charge of this. He insists on doing laundry at the half way point of our trips…ANY trips! No matter how many times I tell him we have enough clothes to not need laundry, he insists!

We will also eat breakfast at the resort…CS style.

So, here goes a quick note about the Disney Dining Plan. We never go hungry at Disney. We are a family of big eaters. For our lunch at CS locations, me and the two kids share two meals. We are never hungry… Disney tends to give you too much food. This gives us extra food credits. We usually save them for breakfast on a couple of days. This will be one of our breakfast days.

Another thing on the agenda for today is to resort hop! I am dying to see the Christmas decorations at some of the other resorts! Specifically, I want to go to the Grand Floridian to see the Gingerbread house. Miss B also has saved a ton of money just to purchase gingerbread from here!

We also want to see the Art of Animation (specifically Radiator Springs!)

Of course, we are also planning on getting some shopping done at Downtown Disney…with lunch at Earl of Sandwich. Remember how I said we always have CS credits left over… well this is about to make it a tiny bit worse… for my birthday last month, I got a coupon for a free sandwich. Of course, it expired the day before we were going to arrive. I posted on their site on Facebook…and they resent it without that expiration…so we will now have yet another credit extra!

Tonight, we are all getting back together for dinner at Chef Mickey’s. It has become tradition to eat here on our break day. Our very first time we were family of the day and got to open up the restaurant. It was very cool…but eating at 5 is way too early for us!

My son, while he will be joining us for dinner, has plans to tour their favorite park again, Disney Hollywood Studios!

Today is a pretty exciting and important day for me!

I get to go with my daughter to an ultrasound appointment!

While this will be her third ultrasound already, it will be the first one of her second trimester...today is actually the first day of her second trimester!

They are not peaking...and do not want to know the sex of the baby (I am working on them about that...) so I only get to go because they are sure I won't be able to tell!

Since I got the last shirt done last night, I can concentrate on other things...like Christmas presents and baby quilts! So this afternoon will be spent having fun....

Nini

Everything sounds excellent Nini! I love hearing about your park days... And I love that you are resort hopping to see all the different resorts. I would love to take time to see radiator springs too.

Yay for going to the U/S today and being able to play with making adorable baby items! :)

Online Check in is done!

Nini

Looks like we are at WDW at the same time! I did online check in yesterday.

We wouldn't be able to go to any of the parks without accomodations. Disney, Sea World, Universal, Legoland, etc. all have some type of GAC. They are so helpful!

Best of luck with your daughters appointment. I hope it goes fabulously.

Enjoy your day today at the ultrasound. How exciting.

Love hearing about your plans. Hope you get to see the lion king show. Nemo is not my favorite Disney show. I always scream like crazy on Dinosaur. Ds first ride on EE sounds terrifying. I will remember that for my niece and nefew. They are tall enough but super skinny.

Quick drive by... I had a long post typed up, but the timed automatic update on my laptop ate it! LOL.

I want to add a picture of my newest grand child, but you MUST promise not to let my daughter know! She already made me delete the one I posted on my wall! LOL!!!

Well...I guess not...I have completely forgotten how to post from facebook...if you can remind me...I'll post the picture!

My second bit of news is that my middle son FINALLY popped the question to his girlfriend...and she said yes!

During the next year I will gain both a grand child (sometime late May), and a daughter in law (probably June!).

Shapping up to be a busy year in the Morris household!

Nini

Congratulations for extending your family! It promises to be an amazing year for you all! Congratulations!

D~

Congrats to your DS and your future DIL. I see lots of quilts in your future. ::yes::

I am not sure if I will get to updating any more of our days before we go....my computer has done an unscheduled automatic update for the last 3 or 4 days...while I am not sure what is going on...I have been told to let it happen. My IT guy (affectionately known as my wonderful son in law) thinks my problem with the last crash was because I was missing an update!

Unfortunately, two of those updates managed to wipe out most of my word doc that had my updates in it... so I basically have to start over and retype it all.

While that is not the end of the world and I could do it in a few hours...kids you know...I just realized something early this morning.

I have 3 dogs. One ginormous and two tiny. All three of my grown kids are taking turns coming over to let them out and feed them. (yes, even the ones that are going to Disney...they are going for 7 and 4 days... and we are going for 10...we all overlap only one day!

Since my daughter is pregnant, and our large dog LOVES her to death and jumps on people he loves (thanks to a husband that thought that act was cute when he was a puppy!!!) My over cautious son in law (even though he is great...he is not a dog lover) is scared to let her come over to take care of the dogs...so he will be doing it for the first 5 or 6 days....it just so happens that his sister and brother in law are visiting him that week...

I know this is very convoluted and you have no idea where this is going... I am not the best housekeeper in the world. Rooms you cannot see do not get cleaned but once a year...seriously!

I am terrified of people I don't know coming in my house! Even when it is clean...which it is no where near clean now!

One week of three kids out of school, final Disney preparations, All 4 hours of therapy crammed into one day...a short 3 day week... 2 birthdays...(remember the title...Excuses, Excuses...)

Anyway...ALL my 'free' time between now and Thanksgiving (oh forgot to add cooking and shopping into that!) have to be used in the house cleaning vein... I will probably go ahead and pack the laptop Monday or Tuesday...since I won't be getting any time to surf.

(oh yeah... forgot to add that my daughter in law has decided she wants me to make 5 more shirts for the princess...IF she ever gets me the shirts I will get to add that to my list! LOL!!!

Since I probably won't get around to doing an actual trip report, I guess I will put them together...

Nini

NinI your post has me exhausted.

You are going to have a fabulous trip.

Holy cow Nini... I don't think these are excuses - I think your week looks crazy!!

5 more shirts???????????? Wow!!! There is no way I would be able to get those done this close - you are much faster than I am though...

Just a few more days and you'll be in Disney! I am so excited for you!
