2012 Macys Parade

Yesterday 12/14/12 my husband and I along with some friends were the Grand Marshall's of the parade at 5:00. They did not have any employees taking photos and was wondering if anyone here on the boards happened to be there. We were at the beginning riding on the polar bear float. I am just trying to get a few pics of the experience. Thanks for your help.

I don't have any pictures, unfortunately, BUT I wanted to say that I was one of the escorts for the Polar Bear float that day!! I was on the right, the only female escort.

Were you wearing the cool Star Wars Christmas shirt and your husband was dressed as an elf (and it was his birthday), by any chance?!

We were hoping that they were taking pics of us like in the past but they were only taking photos of the band.

We were going to be at the Park tomorrow and wondered how you got to be one of the people helping with the balloons... or on the floats? It appears that all of the balloon holders AND some of the people on the floats were visitors to the Park. Do you volunteer somewhere? Please tell... THANK YOU!

I am not sure how you get picked to be Grand Marshals - TinkerMunk, how did you get picked?

In the past, Universal has used a number of guests as balloon handlers, but this year they are only using team members. I think the only time they use guests for the parade this year are on one of the floats.

We were actually asking to sit in the American Express section and my husband was wearing an elf hat and shirt and they asked us. It was just a random thing. Might have been since we had on festive hats and shirts.

guests aren't doing the balloon holding this year.
the balloon handlers are the TM's.

I missed the shot by a few inches (I was near the polar bear's back paw, on his right).

Yeah no guests are doing the balloons this year, mainly because of the construction. (Transformers blocks the normal loop route, so instead they walk the baloons all the way around the back perimeter of the park to where they store them, which is a pretty long walk.
