2012 Free Dining Watch and Wait HERE

Just switched our reservation from Sports to POP!! I have been going back and forth about switching since we made the reservation (all the way back in JULY!!!) and today I finally just did it!! I am so excited!!!

Wow wish I wouldve checked this thread yesterday when I called disney :( I had Pop and had to switch when I booked my free dining ressie ! So we upgraded to POR Royal Guest Room thats all that was avail at POR ! It's a lil pricey although im sure well worth it but I was looking for a budget trip:) Im on the phone now waiting for a CM in Hopes to score any category room at POP! :wizard:

Why can't I see it online????? All I see is the Canadian residence offer :confused3 Is this only for US residents?

Our TA was able to switch our current reservation over to free dining.... no changes POR Sept 9th-15th.... Saved us $281 over the discount that we had before.

Ok, So I finally scored Pop Tonight and they had availability in all room categories! I swore I would never pay for preferred again in my life because I always get a horrible location :) So I booked Standard Pool View since my children love the POOL! My son was really hyped on POR but I wasnt hyped on the price ! It was a Royal Guest Room and I wanted this trip to be economical because we are cruising the dream in June :) So I am happy with what I got and we upgraded to Reg Dining since we got tired of QSDP last year I figured this was Best we were spoiled by the REG Dining being the Free Dining Opt at the Values :) Im so Happy I read this now we will be at the same resort as our extended family that booked with the disney visa on the 1st :) Now I have to score cheap flights since I cannot drive do to needing a new vehicle that is my next obstacle to overcome :wizard: Thank You to all of you that posted you were able to get POP yesterday :thumbsup2

Stalking, stalking, stalking ;)

So glad you got Pop like you wanted, especially knowing that the rest of your family will be there. We considered upgrading to POFQ last year, but were traveling with my dad and knew he'd be horrified at the price. Sure enough, he thought his little room at Pop with deluxe DDP was the greatest deal he'd ever heard of! It was especially nice since my brother and SIL took their kids a couple of years ago and stayed off property because WDW is just "too expensive." Not if you know what you're doing....

LOL, Jen I was so Happy I was really not looking foward to putting out that extra money but I was looking foward to the room and the experience :) You better show the SIL the Ropes Chic

Taking a group of college students to Disney for the YES program in December. Wish I could get free dining for them. The person I spoke with in the YES program office said she didn't think they would have free dining in December. My sons and I were there last December the same time period and had FD it was wonderful.

Even if they offer FD for your dates, you would have to pay full price for your hotel AND your tickets. You cannot do YES tickets with a FD reservation.

Just spoke with Disney and we can buy meal vouchers, not a bad deal. We will go that way. Thanks.

Just saw that they added Art of Animation to free dining. That stinks for anyone that changed their earlier reservation to a different resort so they could get the initial Free Dining offer. Best of luck to anyone that can take advantage of it!

Won't let me post the website but its on the chip and co .com/ site

i'm so hoping *if* they offer FD for fall/winter it will include AoA also! We'd switch to there instead of 2 rooms at POP. :rolleyes1 :cheer2:

I called today regarding free dining and the CM said there weren't any AoA LM rooms available. I guess they could sell out that fast???? Regardless, I forgot that if I choose free dining, I would have to pay full price for tickets. I'm just not sure if it's really worth it to do. Plus, if the LM aren't available, I would have to switch resorts.

Hey all,

First timer here posting and traveling to wdw!

My family is booked at POP nov 29-dec 6. What are my chances at free dining?

Thanks!

Hey first timer-Welcome!!!

They have offered it to include that week at least the last 3 years so keep your fingers crossed. They usually announce the extension closer to August.
You will have a great time during the holidays and WDW :santa:

We got in on the free dining at A of A! We had to push our trip back by 4 days and reduce our stay by one day. We're flying in on 8/24, will spend the day at DYD and resort. Package will go into effect 8/25. Upgraded to DDP.

We were able to switch our flights and ADRs with no trouble. To a savings of $1500 thank you very much!

DW is in now in at AAA booking either POP or AOA for the week of OCT. 19-26. Free dining is not available yet but if it comes available we will switch over like we have done in the past. Quick service I figure for 2 people at 7 days each would be more then the AAA room discount so we would make the switch even though wewould loose the room discount. Never did the quick service before but with the Food and Wine Fest going on we wouldn't have to leave the Fest to go to a restaurant we booked. We decided to book Le Cellier and pay OOP since that is out favorite restaurant so that will probably be our only table service restaurant for the week.

October Trip is booked, saved about $82 on the room w/AAA over the 7 days or $11.70 a day , but the Quick service will be about $546 for 2 of us at 7 days so we will switch to free dining if it comes available for October, if not I figured for $39 each or $78 for both of us we can do better paying OOP then to purchace the Quick service plan plus we will be getting many of the goodies at the Food and Wine Festival.:cool1::hippie:

So, from what I'm seeing it looks like in the past there has been free dining in November... this is rather exciting. That would help us out tremendously.
