2012 Free Dining Watch and Wait HERE

Historically has there ever been FD at the beginning of May? That's when our next trip is, after spring break but before summer break. Just wondering if FD could be offered then. Thanks.

No, there has not ever been a FD offer for that timeframe.

I was just about to post something similar. I have had free dining (and other promotions) applied to existing reservations before. I simply called Disney Travel, told them the code and they "modified" my existing reservation and I kept the same reservation number. I've never had to cancel and rebook.

yep...we did it in august....saved $400 at a mod!!!:thumbsup2

I read somewhere that Free Dining for fall 2012 was announced already for overseas guests, and it would be offered here for that time depending on how the promotion did over there? Anyone else see that?

Well the first part is right. UK and Canada guests can already reserve free dining date through fall 2012. The second part...we can hope.

For example, the UK site: http://disneypackages.co.uk/

Any chance for the end of May like we had this year? That's the first time we've ever had free dining and we go every year. It saved our family of four Disney adults $1655 for 10 nights so we were way beyond thrilled.
Our trip is May 29-June 7 and our fingers are crossed for any discount. Although our trip is still months away I'm getting a little nervous about getting a discount.

The UK FD offers have never had anything to do with when or how they offer the US FD offers. They always get it months before the US. There will be a US FD offer for fall of 2012, it's just the exact dates that are going to be up in the air. The end of August through the end of September is almost a guarantee, as that is the height of hurricane season, and no matter what state the economy is is, that fact won't change. Also, you can pretty much count on Columbus Day/Week being blacked out.

Our dates are very similar to your's and, like you, we were able to take advantage of the May, 2011 free dining promo. I couldn't believe that it was offered during our travel dates as that was the first time I remember it being offered in May. I worry that there will be no (or very little) promotions for my travel dates because of several things: 1) parts of the new Fantasyland will be open by then; 2) Star Wars Weekends will be taking place and 3) Memorial Day travelers.

But, I am keeping everything I've got crossed.

Me too mickeystoontown, everything is crossed!!! The free dining was WONDERFUL. I'm just afraid we'll never see it for that time frame again.
Please let there be something for us... :goodvibes

I so hope your right :worship: we are booked for 9/10/12/- 9/20/12 and am waiting not so patiently for the FD announcement for fall 2012.

When do you think they will make the announcement?:confused3

Every year since 2005 WDW has announced a Fall Free Dining promo in late March/early April, so I would be looking for September Free Dining dates around that time this spring.

I really need a FD promo for sometime between mid Oct-mid Nov but I'm hoping for early November! From what I've read though it appears they don't realease free dining dates for this time period until August!:scared1:

if i want to go at the end of august and they don't release free din din til late march early april, thats only 5 months advance notice. since you can make adr 180 days out, does that mean i would have to book my meals a month ahead of my hotel and park reservations?????

You can make a reservation and cancel it if you don't like the offers. We made a Christmas 2012 res. at one resort, but if the offers aren't good, we'll change the resort to a value.

Those of you who are experts, anyone know if we miss making a reservation for free dining first week of March, are we out of luck for any other free dining offers during that time? I'm wondering if another offer will be made available after this Oct. 29 cutoff date? TIA!

I'm not an expert, but my guess is this is your last chance. I would expect any new free dining offer after October 29th will be for different dates later in 2012.

You don't have to make ADR's, but you can. In the past when the free DDP offer has come out after the 180 window opened, I've made my ADR's before booking the free DDP trip. I figured, there's no sense booking a trip if we couldn't get into the restaurants we wanted.

On the other hand, we just last week decided to book under the current free DDP offer for spring break (5 1/2 months from now). We arrive the last couple of days of free dining, but were still able to get every ADR we wanted. I did have to push the reservation a little later than I normally would (~7:30 dinners), but I was able to into even the popular places such as 'Ohana and Crystal Palace.

It's unlikely that the next offer will include the same dates so if you can swing it, I'd book it now. You only have to put down a $200 deposit, which is fully refundable if you cancel before 45 days prior to your trip. And if a better offer does come out, you can always change or cancel your existing reservation.

I am really needing them to extend this offer in to early June like they did last year. Fingers crossed!!!
