2012 Free Dining Dates...?

What are TS options?

TS = Table Service options.

The RegDDP gives you 1 Quick Service (QS) option, 1 Table Service (TS) option, and 1 snack option per person, per night of your stay.

(The other QSDDP and the DelDDP give other amounts.)

A TS place would be like SciFi Dine In, 50's Prime Time, Liberty Tree Tavern, etc...

A QS place would be like Flame Tree BBQ, ABC Commissary, etc...

I believe Mods would still be a regular DDP, Values would still be a QSDDP. You would have to lay the $11 per person per night of stay difference to upgrade to the regular DDP if you stayed at the Values.

I just wanted to point out that the price for the 2012 ddp went up, whereas the qsdp stayed the same so there's now a difference of $16 and some change per adult per night to upgrade. :sad2:

So if the rumors end up being true and mods have the ddp, definitely price out a mod compared to the price of a value with the added cost of an upgrade. Depending on family size and ages, the price difference could end up being fairly low.

Unfortunately for us that's still $432 as compared to nearly $1000 to get a Mod with a connecting room. :( I wish it was about even. We'd do that in a heartbeat.

Anyone have luck booking the August-September dates? I spoke with 'Norm.' He poked around for awhile and couldn't find anything. I'm wondering if I should try again?

Someone posted dates that extended well into September 2012. Guess that was wrong. :sad2:

Yup, everything I've seen on Mousesavers and other sites (except this post) says it ends on March 31, 2012.

No offense to the ones who were waiting for August and September, 2012 free dining, but I am actually pretty glad that the Facebook posting with the August and September dates were wrong. At least that means that those of us who are waiting on April through end of Summer still have a chance. As a matter of fact, everybody wanting free dining in 2012 still have a chance of getting it. Maybe the next Disney promotion will be free dining dates for the remainder of 2012.

I really wouldn't get my hopes up. As far as I am able to determine, the only "summer"-ish dates they offered Free Dining are May 27-June 2, 2011. Very short period of availability, and not nearly true summer season for Disney.

I couldn't imagine doing the DDP without the TS options. We have been getting to love some of the TS places and couldn't see a trip without them. And the DDP even without a discount saves us money. Nearly $300 savings with the DDP. Places like Coral Reef would cost us way too much to pay OOP. I think we had a bill there (covered by the DDP of course) for nearly $150. Yikes. :scared1: I entertained the notion of the QSDDP to DW and I almost had to sleep on the couch. :rotfl:

We have enjoyed the ts DDP, but I think we'll be fine with the cs plan. With the money I'm saving from not upgrading, we can do MNSSHP and add water parks to our tickets. We'll pay OOP for a couple of lunch (less expensive) ts meals.

I was hoping to book for Sept., but will hold off and see if there is a new BB on our upcoming trip. I was disappointed that the fall FD dates were the part of the rumor that wasn't true.

I wouldn't mind free dining in May, 2012 as that's when we are traveling. We were able to take advantage of the free dining in May of this year and it saved us a lot of money. At this point in time, I would be happy with any sort of discount as I am booked with absolutely no discount.

I was just checking on line and the FD was thru September 2012

I think it is just for Canadians...I spent a couple hours this morning trying to book it and the lady tried to book me and kept asking if I was Canadian. I told her I was American and she was reading, reading, reading terms under her breath. She told me it wouldn't work and then tried to hard sell me to go ahead and book without a discount.

I am not really sure, but I was on the Disney.go.com and it did not ask me for citizenship, unless it go by my profile info.....

Thank you for the link. I clicked on it and saw the rates til 9/2012. I was able to price a trip for 8/2012. However, I went on the site & it said 3/2012. If you look closer to the address, they're actually a little different. The one for 9/2012 has promo ca in it. The one for 3/2012 does not. The chat box came up & I asked about if I could do the offer til 9/2012 since I'm a US resident. He said there is a US offer & Non US offer going on and to call to see what code I could apply as the online reservation system doesn't distinguish where you live. Hope this helps others who are wondering.
