2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

Just because I was bored and don't want to work.
This is what I compilied as "sold out"....

3D Sweet Seats sold out for 10/5 as well.

Thanks for the updates. Just saved me the need for being on hold any longer.

Most frustrating reservation experience I have ever had with Disney. First "all circuits are busy" for over an hour. Then when I finally did get through, ten minutes of hold before being disconnected. Then another twenty minutes of hold before I read this and gave up.

Did go ahead and make two reservations online, so at least there is that. Just amazed that they don't allow the reserved seating to be purchased online. Doesn't make much sense to make this a telephone stampede.

Well, there's always next year.

53 minutes on hold and then a train breakdown on the way to work, but I do have:

10/16 Via Napoli Beer Pairing
10/17 Italian Regional Lunch
10/19 Tequila Lunch, yes I have decided to do it again.

going online to get general admission PFTS for 10/20.

After an hour and 3 minutes on the phone I finally managed to book:
10/6 PFTS reserved seating
10/3 Italian Regional Lunch :cool1:
I was also on hold/on the phone for exactly an hour and 3 minutes, but that was after 25 minutes of constant dialing to get past the "all circuits busy" message. Grand total of 88 minutes start to finish to book just one event: reserved seating for PFTS, an event that could have been made available for online booking!

Yes, I was getting the all circuits are busy too for 15 minutes before I finally got through, so frustrating, but in the end successful!

Finally got thru after 1:15 on hold. But I got a very knowledgeable CM and got everything we wanted, except for 3D Sweet Seats Nov. 2 because I booked on line.
Oct. 14 Tequila Lunch
Oct. 18 Italian Food and Wine Pairing
Oct. 31 Italian Regional Lunch
Nov. 2 3D
Nov. 4 Truffle Lunch

We're also doing the Chef's Table at Flying Fish on Oct. 16.

Tdc nala- not a stalker, but we will be at the same tequila lunch- looking forward to "meeting" you!

This is my first experience with food and wine. I called at 7am, and after 3 or 4 tries got into the system, was on hold for about 50 minutes. Total call time 1:30. I was able to get 1 out of 4 desired events. After several attempts, CM found the wine view for the PFFTS 10/20 and got it booked.

Wanted 10/17 VIP Marketplace tour, but either booked or CM couldn't find it.

Wanted 10/18 Fulton Crab and Yactsman, book booked.

What an experience.

Going to the 3D dessert on 10/26. This is our first event so I was wondering how you get the tickets. Do we pick up at Guest services will call or are they picked up at the Festival Center?

Such a frustrating morning. Called just as the clock flipped from 6:59 to 7, it said my wait time would be less than 30 minutes. Finally got a CM after 45 minutes of waiting. And was told the Italian Regional Lunch on Oct. 6 was sold out, as was the Italian Wine Pairing lunches and Pizza and Beer Pairings during my 10 day trip.

Logged on here and saw people getting reservations for those dates so I called back and was told again everything I wanted was sold out. I guess Disney really doesn't want any more of my money! :furious:

Maybe next year I'll get to try a F&W event.

There has got to be a better way for Disney to do this.

Even something as simple as a staggered start date for reservations would alleviate some of the pain.

And I don't mean the "DVC members can reserve some of the lesser events early" staggering.

I'm talking about PFTS on Monday, the special dining another day, etc. etc.

Sure it might take multiple calls, but at least there isn't a switchboard exploding somewhere because three thousand people called it at the same time.

Got the reserved seating for the 11/3 PFTS I wanted after 51 minutes on hold and 40+ call backs (busy.) I had my phone alarm set for 6:45am and it did not work:( I woke up at 7:15am and started calling. I had no idea how fast the reserved seating would go so I figured I better call today. Looking forward to F&W!

keep in mind that people don't always post "immediately" so they may have gotten the reservation and not posted for a couple of hours.... So it can apepars they called "after" you, but they really called before.

man, all of these horror stories; i would be so mad! i hope everyone eventually gets the events they want!!! :hippie:

i called right at 7 and was automatically on hold for 30 minutes. so i hurried and booted up my computer and rushed to the website to try to book 3d desserts that way. i had to come to the forum and find out where to book it since it was a little hidden. i still managed to catch my bus to work too! i wanted sweet seats, but DH vetoed me on it. hoping we can still have a good time with basic admission (would love to be able to sit and eat though and not stand for 90 minutes and try to juggle food and drink).

looks like fri oct. 26 is popular for 3d desserts; see all of you there!! :cool1:

We did this event the past two years and there was plenty of seating available for those who did not get sweet seats so I think you'll be fine.

I guess I was one of the lucky ones (don't mean to rub it in)...

Called at 7; told there was a 30 minute hold time; got a VERY knowledgeable CM after 20 minutes; got all my choices.

10/3 Italy Regional Lunch
10/7 Grand Marnier
10/9 Morocco Food & Wine Pairing
