2012 Earmarked Conference

Are you still on the wait list, also, Poohfriend? It's been a long time since January 20th....I am getting really nervous? No one from my agency has heard anything about the wait list?

I paid on January 20th. Just would like to have our stateroom assignments. We paid on January 20th...so in theory I would hear from them by next Friday.

I'll believe it when I see it. Right now it seems surreal. I have purchased airfare home on the 26th so I'm counting on it! Last year on the Dream travel agent cruise (not the earmarked conference) it took until about a week before boarding for them to give stateroom assignments. I can only imagine how busy they are with multiple preview cruises. I'll just have to be patient. We did not get a call for that cruise, but we did get an email.

I REALLY wish they had a way to let us login to the registration site to check for stateroom assignments.

Really looking forward to the conference and the motivation and strategies for growing our business. Also looking forward to meeting some of you guys!

Hi All,

I am just curious about the Earmarked Conference on Fantasy. I am just going through CofK right now. So I know I won't be able to do this trip. But for future, how much do these conference trips cost?

By the way, I am super jealous of all of you. Well, not too much since I just got off Dream last week. :)

The trips are for a few members of agencies that have been given the "Authorized Disney Travel Agent" status (or EarMarked.) The conference price is similar to what you'd pay in any field. But there are very few that actually get to go since space is limited. You many have a way to go since you're just getting started. :)

Best wishes in your new adventure. I love what we do.:yay:

Was told NOT to expect a stateroom assginment until later this month. This is different than what we were told at time of payment (that said 3 weeks.)

Just thought I'd pass on what little I was told.

got a phone call and completed the registration process with DCL....hoping for confirmation and stateroom assignments in the next 2 weeks.:surfweb:

Wow, they've got more info from you & it's still going to be 2 more weeks before your room is assigned??!! I'm trying to be mighty patient, but I'm very anxious!! Ready for my room number! :)

I really expected to have a stateroom number then...but nope! I'm going back to the fact that someone told me 10 days or so ago that we could expect soemthing by late Feb. They can't wait too much longer.

It's going to be a fabulous chance to see the Fantasy. Looking forward to the conference and meeting some of you!

What type of add'l info did they need? We have 2 agents attending. Haven't received any phone call from Disney Cruise Line yet. Waiting patiently for stateroom assignments. What day are you arriving?

They just worked through my registration and payment methods -- verifying everything. They re-requested flight information and information needed for transfers.

It was easy on my end, but I have the impression that this is a time consuming process. I think it was at least an 8 minute phone conversation followed up with 3 emails.

Still no stateroom assignment. I'm guessing that will be after they have everyone in GTY status so they can see how they need to assign staterooms based on occupancy.

Yesterday was the last day to cancel without penalty. I would think if there is going to be any movement on the wait list it would be SOON.

Interesting. I got an email today saying my fee wasn't paid and my registration wasn't complete. (They may have also called, I'm not working from our home office today.) I called the number provided in the email, and was told my registration looked complete and paid for. I replied to the email, but so far I haven't heard anything. Sounds like they're going through and cleaning up their list of registrants.

Edit-Just 5 minutes after I posted this I got a reply that said my registration was fine now. Phew!

We both received phone calls on Friday just to update our flight info for magical express and Disney Cruise line transfers, etc. Sounds like we will be receiving some info end of Feb, begin of March.

Did everyone get an updated email this afternoon regarding the conference?

I heard one was going to go out...with my previous email issues now I'm wondering.

Did I miss this one too?

I got an email yesterday evening with some updated conference information. They added 3 breakout sessions to the day at sea on the Fantasy. There is also an expanded conference itinerary available. You should be able to sign in to the conference site using the same registration code you got in the beginning.

I got my call from DCL earlier this week verifying everything & I received my Updated Conf. email on Wed. I signed up for some additional Activities on Wed., Mar. 21st & wondering who else may be doing these same ones??!!
7:45-11am: Waitlisted for Marceline to MK Tour
12:30-3pm: Registered for Reservation Center Tour
3:30-6:30pm: Registered for Resort Site Inspection Tour

Hope to have a Room # in the next week or so!

ANy official emails on stateroom assignments?

We're not doing any pre-conference activities. When we saved the dates it said to save the 22-26th and I thought that mean arrival on the 22nd not arrive earlier. Lessons learned for next year!

We'll be on the tours I bolded! Which brings me to this question...do you have any idea what hard soled shoes means? It says no sneakers, which probably what I would have worn that day. I know it's a safety thing since it sounds like we'll be visiting construction sites, but I honestly have no idea if I even own a pair of "hard soled shoes."

Is anyone else stressing about what to pack? I have always either worked from home or in a very casual office, so I have almost no business attire. I have a pair of black pants that I wear to any "nice" event I attend. I'm also having a hard time figuring out how to dress professionally on a cruise...the two don't really go together in my mind. It's not like I want to wear a tank top and micro mini or anything, I don't wear anything shorter than bermuda shorts and always cover my shoulders. Maybe I'm overthinking this?

I haven't received anything so far. I'll try to remember to come here and post next time I get an email so you know if you might have missed something.
