2012 Consumers Best Buy Dryer? i need one

Hi i was wondering if u have the new consumers guide or last years if u could tell me their top 3 dryers - mine just went - i did have it for 15 years so i'm not complaining.

I'm not looking for anything fancy - it is in my laundry room - no fancy buttons or settings either

Consumer Reports has 5 LG models at the top of the ratings, with a Kenmore and a different LG rated as best buys just below the top models. (You can subscribe to their online service for all the details even if you don't get their magazines...well worth the money!)

Just like the pay Disney touring sites, Consumer Reports info is proprietary and would be accessed with a subscription.

The top rated electric dryers are all the fancy models. The model I have is rated #2 (#1 is my same dryer with a color LCD display instead of black/white like mine and recieved the same score of course) and is an LG DLEX3875W (color display model is LG DLEX3885).

I love my dryer but it is very fancy with a steam option, etc, and was around $1300 so it may not be what you're looking for. As the previous poster said, the top 5 dryers are all LG and then Samsung and Kenmore battle it out for the next several slots.

My guess is that people who had to pay for the info may be reluctant to share it w/ the internet for free. You might see if your local library has a copy.

If you don't want to pay for an online subscription to get the Consumer Reports details, you can always go to the Sears or Home Depot web site (I think maybe Lowes as well) and search for gas or electric dryers, then sort the results by user ratings...that will give you an alternate perspective that might be helpful.
