Wow this thread has so much amazing info! Thankyou! :goodvibes
I'm not a fan of fizzy drinks, do they have any still drinks available at the refill station? I saw that there is slush which looks great, but will there be juices/squash/water available as well?

We just got back a week ago. I don't think there was a slush, but there are many drinks that are not fizzy in the self-serve refill station at the BC Marketplace:
1) water (and ice)
2) coffee
3) hot cocoa (basically water and cocoa and sugar, but my kids like it)
4) iced tea (Golden Peak)
5) Minute Maid Light Lemonade (regular kind, not the pomegranate)
6) hot water (for Lipton hot tea)

For those that enjoy fizzy drinks, there was Coke, Coke Zero, Sprite, Fanta, and Barq's root beer.

I dont usually venture over this side of the boards ;-)
My lovely husband and I will be at the YC from 19-26 Sept with the DxDDP and I am now regularly checking in on this thread. I'm soo glad i found it :-)

You will love being in this area with DxDP. So many good restaurants to eat nearby in Epcot, plus Yachtsman, Captain's Grille and Cape May at YC/BC, plus Kouzzina and Flying Fish at Boardwalk. We've eaten at all of those and we have enjoyed them all.

Congrats on booking. We love the Poly, but we also enjoyed our BC stay. I'm sure you'll have a great trip and will like the BC :goodvibes.
:yay:

Happy planning :wizard:.

Thanks! I've just been on edge not having something booked. I know we will get the role of they eyes from our family for going again. But I know everyone here knows that feeling. We are a couple years out from college and this may be on hold for years so I need to enjoy while we can. I cannot do enough homework - it keeps me daydreaming. :cloud9:

We were a family of five staying in the Beach Club and we always had a day bed. I think the rooms come with it. It wouldn't hurt to make sure, though, when you book the reservation.

Thanks. Personally the daybed or roll away would not be a big deal either way, unless someone has feedback to the negative of a roll away....Anyway. I don't want to waste part of my "request" on something that won't bother us.

:lmao:
No wonder we're booked at the YC. I am on strict doctor's orders to avoid rough things like that.

Now the temptation of upgrading our view....my DD6 LOVES the ToT (16 times and counting)! Well for now at least she can enjoy the view from across the lake or from the pool. We are used to seeing the castle, but the fireworks at EPCOT and the ToT will suffice.

Would that be a lagoon view???? :confused3

I know just what you mean. We always get the "you're going AGAIN?" look from family when we talk about another trip. Some people just don't get it :sad2:. I always feel like I'm in another world when I'm at Disney and no matter how much time we spend there, it never seems like it's enough. Our oldest started college this fall and our youngest will graduate high school in June so I know it won't be long before it's just DH and I so I'm trying to get as much family trip time in as I can. The Dis keeps me going too and doing homework on resorts or just reading different threads makes the trip seem close, even though mine is 9 months away :rotfl: :rotfl:.

I go twice a year and hate that Are you going AGAIN look! I go with my adult daughter. DH doesn't get wdw so he doesn't go. Most of my friends just don't get it either.

Interested in what type of a room that you booked and what your room number is....

Also, Daybed question for the BC experts....do I waste in my room request that we need a room with a daybed. We are a party of 5 so is it safe to assume or is that something I need to add to my request. I don't want to waste a request on this if it's automatic for a party of 5.

Room 4622 - it had a daybed but the balcony was somewhat noisy as to the left was vallet parking / entrance. Main view was of BCV entrance - Ariel's fountain. This room was also very close to the elevator so there was foot traffic.

Daybed is auto with family of 5 :goodvibes

I'm so excited that we may get the chance to see Fantasyland. All the pictures look so amazing and we didn't think we'd see it, but now it seems like we will. 6 more days!!!

Hope you get to see it - it really made my day :goodvibes

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:
Booked!!!! I used the "honey - look all of the standard views are no longer available; we should get ours booked NOW!":banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

Looking forward to our first stay at the BC and see if the pool holds up to all we have heard about. We are spoiled since our last four trips were at the Poly, but we are looking forward to something new.

Packing extra mugs for a Grand Marnier walk!

We usually stay at the Poly too and have it booked for our Jan. trip. My DH wants to try something new so I'm trying to talk myself into changing to the YC or BC CL.

You know this has to be one of the most helpful dining tips I've ever read! It simply never occurred to me to go over to the bar and eat that way when I don't have an ADR. I'm not a drinker so I never knew you could eat SOME of the menu items that way. This would be a sneaky way for hubby and I to split up from our teen boys, send them off to some counter service burger bodega while we indulge in all the wonderous goodies that they don't have the palate to appreciate!

Now I'm going to see if there is a way to figure out which resorts have this bar option. I'm figuring all the deluxe's and any of the parks where liquor is served in a restaurant that has a Bar, like 50's Prime Time. We may be resort visiting for the December trip so I will try to look this up and keep it on my trip -'spontaneous planning' radar.

Thanks!!

~NM

You'll have to report back on your findings!

While not a bar, if your in the AK area, the CS in AKL has some amazing dinner specials that change nightly. I suspect they may be brought down from Boma or Jiko. We had dinner there several nights before we moved to CL and they were every bit as good as a TS dinner.

Having a party of 5 does not necessarily guarantee you a room with a daybed. We learned this the hard way last summer. Our room had a rollaway sent in. We could have switched to another room with a daybed the following day, but my family decided against it. We loved our room location and patio and didn't want the hassle of moving rooms.

Thank you Monica23535, DH will be very happy and so will I because now he can go down and exercise and I get to sleep a bit longer without listening to him trying to be quiet. :woohoo:

No problem, sounds like a great plan! lol

You are correct. Parties of 5 have priority for rooms with daybeds, but if there are none available when you are checking in to your room, then a rollaway will be provided.

As catho72 says, you will probably be given the option (or you can request) to be moved when a room with a daybed becomes available.

Just back from a magical vacation! We stayed at BCV and the villa was perfect and very comfortable with lots of room. We arrived just before noon and the room was ready :)
Storm along bay was gorgeous. We had no problems finding chairs at various times of day.
Our favorite dinner was at Boma.....so good and I recommend trying if you haven't had the chance.
We were so happy to meet Teena in the lobby and my kids traded pins with her. :cool1:
We used Martha's Vineyard for QS a few times and it was very good. Didn't care for the breakfast at the marketplace, but the sandwiches for lunch are yummy.
The parks weren't too crowded. My daughter had a BBB makeover and loved it!

We saw the new fantasyland section last week It was beautiful! We went on Ariel's ride and saw her at her grotto. We saw belles story time and went in a store there too...had to get of belle doll of course!

Hello! We will be at BC in December. I was wondering if anyone had experience renting one of the boats from the YC marina. We were thinking about it since our sons love boats. It would be the four of us:me,DH,DS3 and DS5. Thanks!
