I was thinking I wouldn't register my four year old would they really make us show a room key for her? I guess if they did we could just do what you said and use the quiet pool on those days.

I don't get what you would "save" by not registering your 4 year old? What am I missing?

We are here now. I need to print out some tickets, do I have to go over to the convention centre to be able to do this?

For what it's worth, we were at the BC from Aug 1- Aug 8.

We had no trouble with the busses; we didn't wait more than 10 minutes for any bus (or boat), most of the time much less than that.

In fact, we had only one wait of 20 minutes the whole week: my husband and daughter waited 20 minutes for Splash Mountain (while my son and other daughter and I did Big Thunder twice.)

Ok.... someone sent me a private message yesterday or today... asking for a pin for a trip in late October into November... I opened the message and had other messages there that needed to be deleted... heres where the uh oh comes in I deleted your message as well :confused3 Please resend but also include a mailing address and I will get your pin out to you next week when I return from vacation. So sorry!!!

See if I were Dee this would never have happened since she doesn't delete anything :rotfl2:

This wasn't me, but jumping in your post to say I am going to the pin event in Sept if anyone wants anything? RSP's are done, but there are always left overs when we get them. pm me :thumbsup2 (I am not so good at pm's either):lmao:

We got back Sunday and I'm still getting back into "normal" mode. While going through all my pics this one turned out pretty cool with the rain in the background so I thought I'd share.

I really think the bus situation is just luck of the draw no matter what resort you stay at. If you walk up to the bus stop and your bus is just pulling up you hit the jackpot - if you walk up and your bus has just left you'll wait!

We were there July 18-28 and only had two waits for the bus. Once leaving MK and one time when we were going to DTD. The DTD is always my least favorite bus no matter where we stay so we ended up just taking a cab.

Feckless - congrats on your weight loss! I lost 19lbs before we went to Disney/Universal and even though I ate like crazy only gained 2 1/2 lbs on our 2 week trip - must have been all the walking! I'm back on it now and I've lost the extra 2/12 lbs. I think I'm ok with dieting most of the year as long as I can dream of eating like crazy at Disney!!!!

Thanks Teena, it was so nice meeting you! Sorry it was so brief (was it even 30 seconds?! lol), but we were literally walking out the door to leave :( to go home....I agree with NM, we should just turn around and go back!

Having just come back (I still want to do some type of trip report, maybe I'll get around to it), I'll comment on the buses/transportation.

1) Boats - Ran like clockwork and no issues at all, sometimes they get a bit full but other than that fantastic.

2) Buses - To the parks no problem at all. Coming back we did experience some waits, especially from MK. Now I'm a pretty patient person so I don't have a problem waiting but there were others in line who were not so happy. One person asked a bus driver who was just walking by what was up. He told her that there are cameras everywhere and "they know we had been waiting". She then proceeded to look up all around and wave her arms saying "Hello is the bus coming?" I got a good laugh out of it but it was a long wait, even DS noted that another resort had been picked up twice while we still waited. I'm guessing we must have timed it poorly with a shift change but DW left the park probably about 2 hours before me with our other son and said she had a long wait as well. It didn't have any effect on our trip as we were just going back to SAB to relax but I could see if someone had a ADR or was on some sort of time crunch they could have been upset, but then again I guess you just have to build in some fluff time for transportation delays.

You're not missing anything.
I believe that Glovergirl is currently booked in a 1 BR BC Villa which has a maximum occupancy of 4. When her husband is with her they are a family of 5, which exceeds the allowed occupancy. She is trying to get around that by not putting her youngest on the reservation.
There are no savings, the issue is the allowed number in the Villa.

If the four year old doesn't have a room key, that child will not be able to participate in early mornings or late nights.

I currently have us booked in a one bedroom villa but I am wondering now if it will be a problem as I don't want to break any rules and we have never stayed at the BC we usually stay at the GF that sleeps 5.

Here is my issue and concern. My husband is flying to Orlando with us and we arrive Thursday evening. He is then leaving the next morning to drive up to Alabama for a football game. He loves going to his college football games and I love Disney so it works out great. Now here is my question I really want to stay in the Villa's for the extra space but my husband will be with us for one night on each end of the trip, we all have AP's so tickets aren't an issue. My youngest is 4 and still sleeps with us so the layout of the villa works better for us too. I am not trying to break any rules which is why I am asking if it will be a problem. If my husband goes over to SAB with us and we have room keys for everyone but the youngest, will they really want me to show a room key for her?? Again if you think this will be one big problem I will switch us to a regular room I was just hoping to have the kitchen and extra space since I would be alone with me girls the majority of the trip.

I really appreciate your thoughts.

I believe all the one bedrooms have an occupancy of four plus one under three. So you cannot have all five of you in a one bedroom. Yes they will ask for his key. There are other options that accommodate five and include a kitchen and living room space. The cabins at fort wilderness come to mind.

This is pretty good! I like how you got it to rain only on the Yacht club. Where is the picture taken at the same time that shows it was sunny at the Beach Club? ;)

Uh oh... this is going to come back to bite you. I've read on other forums that if they catch you with unregistered guests spending the night in the room or if you have more than the maximum number of guests in the room overnight they ask you to leave property immediately. No refunds, no second chances. The maximum number restriction is due to the fire code regulations and they take that very seriously.

I'm just pointing this out so you know the consequences ahead of time. You can do what you want but I thought you should know what can happen.

Good luck with your plans and I hope it all works out for you. I hope that 4 year old is really short!

We always rent a car and don't ever use the buses. We just don't like to wait, and we especially feel that having a car is easier when hopping from one park to another. I do think that we'll probably use the car less this trip since we are staying at YC and can walk to Epcot and DHS. And if we're hopping from Epcot to MK, we'll probably just catch the monorail over and leave the car.

And we will take the bus at least once this trip...for our early morning ADR at Cindy's Royal Table. Since the bus will drop us at MK, we figure that's the best option so we're not late.

I think we're at 73 days now! Can't wait.

This is correct ... it is a fire code regulation and we are monitored all the time. Without a key for the pool and without a key for early and late hours at the parks, your vacation could be ruined. Children 3 and over must be listed on the reservation!

Not surprisingly, I'm stopping by to quote Robyn and agree with her! These are my thoughts exactly. We just stayed at POFQ for three nights before our YC stay during Easter Week this year. We hadn't stayed in mod for over eight years, and after our brief POFQ stay, I appreciate YC/BC even more. (I really liked POFQ for a mod - it was great for its own category - just prefer deluxe.) But as usual, we were in Epcot nearly every night of that trip, and the bus to Epcot with six stops throughout POR was quite a contrast to our stroll through the international gateway at YC/BC!

In our experience over many years and different seasons, the bus from BC to AK and MK either goes direct or makes one stop at BWI. Either you're there at the right time or not, and in our experience, it's not any better at the other resorts. We've always found the CMs at the BC bus stop are particularly helpful. On the way back, there are a few stops, but we usually return in the late afternoon (not at park closing) so it's never crowded for us.

Overall, we're not fans of the buses - we'd rather walk. But we absolutely prefer the buses to driving. And YC/BC is a great choice because you can walk or boat to two of four parks.

Yay for a cab to DTD!

Not surprising at all since you are one of my BC/YC twin sisters separated at birth!
