Could you add me to the guest list! We will be at YC Sept. 16 thru 22nd! Can't wait!!:cool1:

:welcome:

You bet!

:cool1:

Thanks so much for keeping the Be Our Guest List! We will be YC CL GV from April 13 - 20.

Loving this thread...everyone is so nice!

No problem!

:goodvibes

Darn, I thought you were at the Yc! I would have stalked the hallways to try and meet you!!! ;) Hope you guys had a great time, we are at the airport headed home.

You are correct, Teena was originally booked at the YC but she was able to switch over to the BC last minute.

We had a great stay despite the bumpy start and leaving is always such a sad time. I thought I could make it better by booking a BB offer and was told by the CM that there is no current BB offer!! That made the morning worse. I guess I will book when I get back home and hope for a GP or AP discount to come out.

Check with another CM. I'm very sure I saw the Bounceback offer in our room last week.

It probably was in your room last week. The CM told me it had to be booked by July 31. I think they are getting to roll out the new BB offer with free dining. I read somewhere they do that in August but I didn't know that meant no offers were available during that time. :/

I hope a new one comes out for when we are there in Oct. because we really want to book a bounceback for next year.

It's typically (always?) room only so it's just one night's stay plus tax.

I have heard rumors about BB with dining so I'm guessing that would be the $200 deposit as is typical with a package.

And have been thinking about posting a fairly comprehensive review of our trip. Not sure I'll get to that but did want to include a brief commentary on the Beach Club (our home from July 26 to August 3rd). In a word, it was fantastic. We had a wonderful room just off the lobby, the people were great, the pool was fantastic, the marketplace convenient . . .

We missed being able to eat at Cape May, but we'll get to that another time. We loved the access to Epcot (but that place is at a crossroads, in my opinion), and the studio trip via boat was really enjoyable.

For those who are considering this resort, have no concerns. You'll love it (and that's from four time Poly devotees who never thought we could enjoy a place as much . . . and we did).

This is our first YC visit, but we're planning Captain's Grille for lunch the day we arrive. I see you have kids. I think they'd probably really enjoy Beaches & Cream. I've heard it can get crazy busy though, so maybe plan that, but if it's to packed, head to CG instead.

Thanks for the advice! I think that also sounds like a good idea/plan,

Based on the info I have, HH will close down the last week in August, so around Aug 27. You should be fine next week.

I think kelleigh's advice is excellent. Try for B&C, but if the wait is too long, eat at Captain's Grille. I could be wrong, but I don't think having an advanced reservation there is necessary.

Definitely a good call to eat close to home. We ate at Captain's Grille for our arrival day dinner, and loved the convenient location and excellent menu.

First, thanks for keeping this thread so wonderful and up to date!!!

Glad to hear that HH won't close until after my trip. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this is accurate!

I am going to try B&C and then Captain's Grille if needed.

It was no trouble at all! I did find out the dates of the refurb. Its set to close the 27th of this month and will reopen on the 16th of Sept so it sounds like it will be open when you are here.

Thanks again, good to hear.:cheer2: We spend a good bit of time hanging at the pool, ordering drinks and snacks and lazing the day away.:beach:

So glad you enjoyed your stay!!!

We certainly did. I saw you on several occasions in the lobby but didn't want to disturb you. You and your team are to be commended. What a great resort and experience for our family.

My sincere thanks.

I'm pretty sure you can refill your mug at the Ale & Compass lounge, which is also open as location for Continental breakfast with reportedly REAL coffee.

I'm not sure if you can purchase the mugs there. Anyone know?

OK, I'll answer my own question.

I spy with my little eye refill mugs for sale:

This picture is from Niki in NJ of the Ale & Compass Continental Breakfast offerings and was taken maybe a year ago.

I still don't know what is available for purchase using the dining plan, so if anyone there sees that info, please let me know.

I just woke up from a dream... That we checked in and our room was HUGE with Two stocked bars, our own private pool, darts, and a duckpins bowling alley. Downside was we had to share it with strangers. Then I awoke in a panic. LOL

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I've had dreams like that! Without the bowling though. LOL

Weight is coming off slower than before. Damn metabolism - why can't your appetite go down with it??? Still a few pounds to go before I feel comfortable starting training. I said my next trip would include a stay at AKL, but I think that would be crazy on this trip. I might throw a few nights on the Dark Side at the end. Crazy I'm planning this more than a year ahead!!

Wow! have not been on the boards in almost a week and BAM , I am far behind :rotfl2:

DH and I returned Monday night from a 3 night stay at BC 8/3-8-6. We had added a day to check out on 8/7 but an emergency with one of our dogs so we packed up early and went home.

Anyway, here is a little review for you. We requested a full balcony and king room hoping to get 2573 like last time but no kings available with balcony so we had a 2 queen room 4542. The room was fine just not as spacious as the king room and the room is pretty far away from everything. On the plus we were steps away from the stairwell that leads to that back pathway steps away from Epcot:thumbsup2 We also enjoyed our balcony in the mornings, evenings and during the afternoon rain.

We went mainly for time at SAB and relaxation. We arrived Friday morning and checked in at 10:30 and our room was ready. We went right down to SAB and relaxed until about 3:30 when the rain came. It did not last long. We went to the room showered and then wandered around Epcot. That night we walked around the Boardwalk and over to DHS just to wander around.

Sat. We did a.m EMH at DHS and rode TSM and got a fastpass for later. We also rode RR and DH got a coffee mug at the StarWars store. We then headed to SAB around 10:30 where we hung out until the rain came. It was funny because it came and we hung around for a while waiting for it to end. We thought it was over and went back into SAB grabbed new towels and chairs and set up camp again.. We just entered the pool when the skies just opened up. DH ran to rescue our phone and books. I was drenched. Back to the room to shower and then we had coffee on the balcony. It rained for a couple hours but it was no big deal. We relaxed, explored the resort, stopped by the Crew Cup lounge and watched some Olympic coverage. When they rain stopped we headed to France and grabbed dinner at the bakery. Brie and turkey on a baguette ::yes:: After dinner we did some shopping and then we headed to SAB for a night swim. This was awesome. SAB was so empty and we could just in the pool and relax.

Sunday it was all about SAB. Had Breakfast at Captain's Grill and it was fantastic. I highly recommend:) We chilled all day at SAB until the rain. What a fantastic day:lovestruc While going to dinner we got a call from my sister that our dog was sick, lethargic and not really doing anything. WE told her to take her to the ER vet. My sister was in a panic. DH and I decided to try to change our flight and cancel our Monday night reservation which we did. Changing the flights was the hardest and we did not know until Monday about 2pm that we were leaving at 3:30ish for MCO. We were at SAB when were finally able to get seats on the flight. We had half packed so we went back to the room finished packing, rushed around trying to get everything finalized, got a voucher for ME and were off. Disney was great working with us and our changes. They did everything they could to help us.

We were sad to leave but our dogs are our children so we were not going to sit at a pool with a sick dog at home. Apparently our dog went on a hunger/water strike while we were gone. She spent a couple nights at the doggy hospital getting IV fluids. We brought her home Tuesday and have spent the last few days monitoring her and getting her healthy again. She is almost back to her normal self again. The cooler temps are helping.

All in all we had a fantastic last minute trip. We were unable to meet Princess Lily because we had to leave Monday but otherwise everything was awesome. I love SAB and really want to make my backyard into a miny version of this complete with HH and Rocky the pool server:lmao:

Couchy- sorry to hear you had to leave early because of your poor puppy. Dog's are part of the family and I completely agree you needed to leave. Sounded like a great relaxing vacation though. Lots of SAB time!

Couchy- I'm so sorry to hear about your dog, but glad that she is doing better now.

:dogdance:

Thanks for letting us know about your nice, relaxing trip. I'm glad you were able to enjoy SAB lots despite the rain- looks like you were able to "go with the flow" and work around it.

A few pages back, there were some questions about the rooms with a King Bed. Are you able to offer any insight from a previous trip?

What is the room like/what is in it?

There were some questions about a Murphy Bed set up in rooms with a King Bed, but I had never heard that before.

Thanks!

These next two weeks can't go by fast enough. My SIL who lives in DC is visiting the beach house this weekend. She is also coming to DIsney with DH, DD and I. It's non stop Disney talk around here! Can someone speed up time? :worship:
