2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

FYI- I have a few more updates to my Atlantis TR- So far I have covered our 2009 stay, reviewed the Comfort Suites, led a trip on the "Lazy" River and plummeted on the Power Tower rides.

Click on the link in my signature. There are links to chapters in the second post of the Muggles Report or you can go to page 56 to start.

Finally booked with a PIN code and made it official. :wizard:

DH and I are staying at BC for the 1st time ( we stayed 2 nights at YC before)

We will be there 6/27-7/3:cool1: So very excited. I keep reading this thread and love learning everything there is about YC/BC:lovestruc

Quick q that my son asked yesterday... how "hot" are the hot tubs? He loves hot tubs but of course we don't let him in if they are scorching hot. I know that some resorts they have bath temp hot tubs for the kids too. Thanks!

While I can't answer for the BC/YC hot tubs, I can answer generally. Disney hot tubs are the only ones my kids have ever been allowed in (at least for more than 4 seconds). I'm a nervous nellie, and sure that their insides are cooking at other places! At our last two trips at WL, I let them stay in the hot tubs a little while. Those things were crawling with kids (much to the non-delight of the adults!)

I have a question about using the refillable resort mug at Beaches and Cream. I see that Beaches and Cream is listed as a place to refill the mugs, but is that only if you are getting your order to-go? We are planning on eating inside for one of our meals and was wondering if the mugs would be refilled inside the restaurant.

Thanks in advance for any answers. This thread is such a great source of information and everyone is so nice!:)

I looked on the disney food blog and they posted a sign
http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2009/08/12/disney-resort-refillable-mugs-faq/

It looks like there are teeny tiny letters after Beaches and Cream that say "To Go Area". Boo! too bad. I guess we'll have to all have milkshakes at B&C instead.

Hopefully your answer is covered in my response above.

Are all of the 5 family members over age 3? If so, then you will get a room that has the proper sleeping arrangement. In almost all cases this means a daybed (parties of 5 have first priority).

Thank you!

All of our children are all over 3, they are 8, 10 and 14 y/o. I was getting little worried about not having proper sleeping arrangement since I've never been to a Disney resort with more than 3 before. I couldn't refuse my neices' request to go with them early. It's their first trip to WDW so it will be their first stay as well. I'm quit excited to share that first moment (whole WDW and the resort) and DS is very excited to show them SAB. I think they'll love YC/BC!!! :lovestruc :yay:

It looks like you will be there during a fairly slow time of year.

You should be given a room that will have the proper sleeping arrangements. You will be fine.

However, when you checkin* after going to your room if you don't think it will work for your family, check back at the front desk to see if there is something else available that will meet your needs.

* I suggest doing that in person, not the advanced online checkin- see the FAQ section on page 1 for more details

Feckless.....I am loving your vacation reports!! It is increasing the anticipation for our August trip! I'm sorry your son is not feeling well but I am impressed with how you and your family are handling it......just rolling with the punches is a great way to go!!

I am so happy to report that I called yesterday and was able to get an AP discount on our upcoming stay at BC!! We are saving quite a bit of money even with upgrading to a WV room from our GV room. The best part is that I have now locked my husband into commiting to buying APs!!:banana: That means there will be extra WDW trips in the coming year. I am so excited.....now off to plan what weekends we can sneek in at our favorite place on earth!!:yay:

Now you know how I chose my screen name!

My Costco water delivery is on the truck for delivery to the Yacht Club today! Woohoo! We arrive Saturday :yay: :yay: :yay:

Hoping for decent weather, but even rainy will do. Just excited to be there.

Hi, does the Beach Club charge you for your water delivery? I remember 3 yrs. ago when staying at BWV we were charged $5 or so for our water delivery.

Thanks and have a great trip!

We did the same thing. We booked the Deluxe Club Room at BC for end of June just last weekend with the 25% room only discount, and then rebooked yesterday with the new AP discount dates. We saved $142 on our 4 night trip. That'll pay for one of our dinners, give or take... and was quickly followed up by "now we HAVE to renew our APs for next year for sure!"

How do you get to the BC quiet pool? Can you walk through the hallways and exit out a door near the pool?

I'm thinking they will. I've seen reports of charges up to $10 (I think they do it by weight) at the convention resorts. I've also heard that we'll have to get it from the convention area package people, which is a bit of a pain, but still cheaper than buying from WDW and easier (for us) than hiking off to the Hess station.

Thanks!

Now that I think about it we were charged $10 per package. Thanks for your quick response and enjoy your trip.

I've been searching for photos of the Beach Club. One I have been unable to find is a view of a room with a king bed. All I can seem to find is room pictures of the queen beds. Anyone able to help me see the lay out of a room with a King Bed?

The reason you don't see pictures of rooms with King beds is that they are few and far between. However, if you did a search on YouTube, someone posted a video of the Presidential Suite at BC and there was one room with a King Bed that might help. Otherwise, take a picture of a room with a queen bed, hide one of the beds, and that basically is what you will have, at least that's what I remember seeing when my brother and his wife were staying in the room next to mine at the YC. Yeah, he gets the King bed even though I did all the booking and planning. Go figure.

Now that I think about it we were charged $10 per package. Thanks for your quick response and enjoy your trip.

Yep, BC/YC is a convention center. On page one of the thread Dee has information on shipping to the resort posted. If it isn't coming by USPS then it has to go to the convention center where you have to go over to pick it up. Take one of the room carts from Bell Services with you. That should make it easier to bring back.

Yes, if you follow the first floor BC hallway (there are signs) you will come to the pool area, and can go through doors to outside at the pool. You can also access it from the sidewalk that goes to Epcot/around to the Boardwalk.

Inside route can be heavily air conditioned in that hallway!! If we are wet, we often go back outside (if there is a door to our stairwell). :thumbsup2

I am super excited about the APs! It "only" takes us 8hrs to get to WDW so after some thinking we decided we probably should have bought them awhile ago but part of me was worried he would change his mind. (We were originally going to upgrade once we got there) Now we are stopping by the Disney Store to buy our AP vouchers this weekend!!:thumbsup2 The kids love it there.....DD wants to celebrate her Sweet 16th at MK so, of course, DS wants to go for his birthday. Darn, all these extra trips we will have to make! :rotfl:

Thanks for answering, and thanks for bumping natebenma! Yes we have been to a few resorts that have bath temp hot tubs (and separate adult only hot tubs that are scorching). My son got spoiled at Kalahari because after we swam at night we'd always hit the luke warm hot tub before we left the park, it was so relaxing and nice!

I also wanted to ask.,. does anyone know if you can bring dive toys to SAB? I dont' want to pack them if they are not permitted. Thanks!

Speaking of your signature, will Mickey fall off the monorail before we reach page 250? The race is on!!

Great minds think alike- I have been pondering this same thing myself the past day or two!

Pretty sure the new thread will be first. We have been averaging around 3 pages a day here lately and I have 25 days until my trip.

Good lord, is it already that soon!?!?!?

:faint:

The summer is flying by and it hasn't even begun! This of course makes me freak out about paying off our October trip.... ugh... I need a discount pronto or Club Level just isn't gonna happen!:worried:
